  1. Hey Guys, Wasn't sure how close this would be for any of you, but Paul is having an open day at their new branch on the 12th April. He's asked me to put something up to see if anyone would be interested in attending? I'd have gone if it wasn't my weekend with the kids (they'd get bored standing around looking at cars! Lol), but maybe one or two of you would like to see what the new shop is all about?? Paul will have both the Whifbitz Supra (1,300HP), and the Whifbitz GTR (1,000HP) on display, along with some other cars. He's actually considering buying an IS-F as his daily driver, now his commute is so much shorter. Be good if he does buy one, as he'd no doubt start fabricating and producing parts for them like he did with the Supra and GTR. :) The details are as follows: Whifbitz Open Day/Car Meet 12th April To celebrate the opening of our new branch in Caldicot in South Wales we will be having an open day/car meet. We will have our 1300+BHP Whifbitz Deathstar Supra along with our 1000BHP Whifbitz Nissan R35 GTR on display along with some customer cars if they can make it along. Everyone is welcome to come along and if you can bring your car, whether its Japanese, German, Italian, etc. anything goes so please bring it along to the meeting. The meeting will be taking place on Saturday the 12th April from 10am onwards at: Garage Whifbitz 50B Symondscliffe Way Severn Bridge Ind Est Caldicot NP26 5PW If anyone is able to attend, please post up on here so I can let Paul know. Cheers. Peter :)
  2. Nice one Stu. :) At least they found the leak, and it's getting sorted under the warranty. Can't say fairer than that really chap.
  3. Huge Congrats Neil. :) Car looks stunning chap. Look forward to seeing it in person at some point. ;) See we've also both been Supra owners in the past! Small world! Lol. Best of luck with it chap. Any plans to modify it yet? Just curious!! ;) Cheers. Peter :)
  4. That's why I used to own Supra's Stu! ;) It really depends on what you want from your car. If you want the option to run big numbers without having to pull apart the block, the Supra is by far the best option out there. Most cars produce 400HP with just phase 1 mods (intake, exhaust, de-cat pipe). You can increase this up to 550/600HP without the need to change anything inside the block! By far the most overly engineered performance Japanese car on the road. Didn't realise the designer of the IS-F was also a guy involved in designing the Supra! ;) What people need to remember is our engines have already been tweaked by Yamaha to produce the power we have now. That means there is very little room left to squeeze any more ponies out of, unless you go for NOS, turbo kit, or a supercharger.
  5. I think the point is with an intake and just the headers, you can gain around 50HP. The exhaust itself will net some gains on top, but not as many as the headers and intake combo. Value for money would be the headers and intake, with maybe a rear silencer delete to enhance that V8 soundtrack! ;)
  6. Hey Kevin, I'm planning to go with the PPE headers at some point. I did a lot of research over on the US forums, and although Sikky get good reviews as well, PPE are the headers of choice in terms of quality and bang for your buck. ;) The issue will be the costs associated with fitting them. You have to loosen engine mounts etc to remove the OEM headers and install the new ones. Labour is probably going to be at least £600 if not more. Add that to the cost of the headers plus import tax, delivery, shipping etc, and you are looking at well over £1K. Does seem to be the best mod for additional power though. :)
  7. I did look at an IS-F that had the clear coated front fitted from new by Lexus. Must admit in our colour it didn't look too bad. I personally would prefer to pay for someone to touch it up or re-spray it as and when the chips get bad enough to be noticeable. Not a fan of the bonnet bra either! :(
  8. Hence why you should only do it to a car you plan to keep for a while! ;) We all know you don't do it to make money!! Lol. Usually the precise opposite unless you can find a like minded buyer. Still going to do mine at some point. Can always do a track day or ten before I sell it to add some battle scars! ;) Lol.
  9. Indeed fella. Beat resistant paint. Callipers and wheels look sweet in the flesh. They really did do a great job on the bodywork as well. Get your name on the rolling road thread :)Tints are spot on. Not so dark it looks daft and contrasts with fronts but dark enough to keep the sun out of my daughters eyes. Look forward to seeing it chap. Sounds great though. :) I'm signed up for the RR day at AMD. Let me know if you want me to try the Supra forum. Just be prepared to see BIG numbers on that dyno! ;)
  10. 1. Stu 2. Gibbsy 3. Peter P Do you want me to put something on the mkiv.co.uk Supra forum as well Stu?? Guessing I could grab a few more from there chap? Cheers. Pete :)
  11. Let us know the bonnet re spray quote Andy. Got a good shop near me that did my engine cover in body colour for £60. Guessing a bonnet should be £350-400 tops?? Can check with him once you get your quote chap. Cheers. Peter :)
  12. Looking great Stu. :) What paint did they use on the calipers? Guessing its heat rated stuff to cope with the high temps etc? Bodywork and finish look brilliant chap. Look forward to seeing in in the flesh some time. Cheers. Pete :)
  13. Show off!! ;) Your good then chap. May want to make the rear silencers a bit thicker if you are going to remove the secondary cats. Just thinking it'll be pretty loud otherwise!! :) Cheers. Peter
  14. Think I got the 6K ones in the end. Thought the pure White would work better with the other bulbs I'm using. Will have to grab them for you guys on my next trip, as they wouldn't arrive in time for me to bring them back on this one. Should be going to Los Angeles in May. Can get my buddy to order them beforehand. Will need to sort the money out upfront, as he's already fronting the cost of my flat bottom/carbon topped steering wheel. ;) Happy to have a few more IS-F's come to visit! ;) Cheers. Pete :)
  15. Lol, just trying to do my bit for forum community spirit! ;) You know you want me to do yours Stu! Don't fight it!! Lol. Ha! Probably will eventually, once you have botched others F's and perfected your process ;) Touché ;) No botching here though chap. Remember I did my own car first! ;) The process has already been perfected! ;)
  16. Lol, just trying to do my bit for forum community spirit! ;) You know you want me to do yours Stu! Don't fight it!! Lol.
  17. Hey Roheel, Depends on whether you add the extras they offer. I went for the whole lot including the LED rear brake lights. Complete set works out at $113, which is about £70. Here's their website: http://www.precisionled.com/lexus-is-f-premium-led-interior-lights-kits-2007-2013.html They are actually cheaper now than when I ordered mine! :( Typical! Lol. You can buy them from eBay, but it's a bit hit and miss whether they are any good or not. Have a look at the gallery and videos for these guys. Seems they are pretty much the market leaders for LED's. I'll get some pictures up of mine once I get them, and find time to do the install. Cheers. Peter :)
  18. Hi Glenn. I'm planning to post up links to each set of bulbs once I've fitted and tested them chap. Don't want to get anyone's hopes up until I am 100% sure they all do the job. :) The low beams are 4,300K, so tricky to get a matching rating as most are 4K,5K,6K etc. The LED sidelights I got are 7,000K, the main beams will be 5,000K, and the fogs will be 6,000K. The main thing I wanted was a pure, crisp, white light. Not looking for the blue look you see on most cars. The 7K are as blue as I'd want to go, but being so small, and being LED, they look whiter than 7K (more like 6K). I upped the rating on the LED's as they are smaller than the OEM bulbs, and whilst very bright, the beam is whiter than with halogens. If I'm right, the match should be pretty close once they're all installed. Cheers. Peter Hi Pete, i ordered my mains for hids direct ltd, mtec quality bulbs hid look 4300k, 100w, £11.99 pair, used mtec before v good item. hope this helps. Thanks Glenn. :) I've gone for the same strength Bolt Racing ones I got for the main beams. Should be a perfect match once the are installed. :) Will let you guys see some pictures once it's all fitted etc. Hoping my interior LED kit will be waiting for me when I get home as well. Got my Hawk ceramic front pads sitting in my suitcase as well! Lol. Love the fact I visit the US on business quite frequently. Gives me a chance to grab up some parts! Cheers. Peter :)
  19. Hey Simi. Happy to do yours mate. :) Will post links to all the different lights I bought after I've installed the main beam and fogs. That way you know they fit and work! ;) I've actually got a complete interior set coming from the States which includes the under mirror puddle lights. It's all LED and looks awesome!! I'll be heading back to the States in May (sitting in New Jersey as I type this), so could grab you a set of the interior lights if you want chap? Come over and look at mine once I've fitted the other bulbs. That way you can decide if you want the same look, or something different. A lot of the US guys went for the yellow fogs? Does look pretty nice on the white cars I looked at? Just a thought! Cheers. Peter :)
  20. Thanks Simi. :) I'm going to do Roheel's for him for similar reasons, happy to do yours for you if you like?? Be nice to have another IS-F on our street! ;) I'll get some pictures up when I get the main beam and fogs installed. :) Cheers. Pete :)
  21. Congrats Stu. :) Whilst I can feel your pain with having the Corsa, it'll be worth it when you get your IS-F back looking mint! ;) As you say, just the leather left to do after that. Be a long week though! Lol. I'm off to New Jersey tomorrow for a week. Maybe you should borrow mine while I'm away! ;) You could try out the Apexi throttle controller! :)
  22. Slight snag with the replacement fog light LED's, unfortunately the housing is too slim to fit the fatter bulb! :( They are defo H11 size wise, but need to be the normal halogen type like the main beam ones I bought. Have emailed them explaining the issue, and asked for a straight swap with the Bolts Racing ones (£9.99 versus the £22.50 for the LED ones). Hopefully they will be happy to do that. Just as well everyone didn't jump in too quick and order them! ;) At least we know now. Will update when I hear from them. Thanks. Peter :)
  23. Plus one on choosing the Takeda Rob. ;) Got mine brought in by a friend from Houston. Do visit the States a few times a year on business. Would happily bring you one back if you can front the cash mate? It's cheaper than doing eBay etc, as no import duty, shipping costs etc. Let me know if you're interested chap. :) Cheers. Peter
