  1. That could work Stu. :) Will need to be a Saturday though. Already taking time off for the caliper painting, brakes, wheel refurb & service! ;) Be nice if we can get a third with no mods?? Cheers. Peter
  2. Hey Stu. Not yet on the exhaust mate. Spending just under £3K on it though! ;) That'll do for a bit! Besides, want to see how yours does on the dyno first! ;)
  3. I agree Keith. Seem pretty bullet-proof from what I can see. Getting them to change my gearbox fluid as well. :) Noticing it's slow to change from cold? Holds the gears longer than I'd like. May be perfectly normal, but thought I'd get it done anyway for peace of mind. Getting new rotors and pads up front next week, brake calipers painted, 4 new Vredsteins, wheels re-painted in anthracite, got my flat bottom steering wheel to pick up tomorrow along with my TRD oil cap... Just need my illuminated door sills and real carbon pillar trims from Houston! ;) With the 6yr/60k service done, that's me done for a bit anyway! :)
  4. Heard back from Lexus Woodford on the valve clearances Keith. Apparently they do an 'audible' check! That's it. ;) If it sounds bad, guess they then tell you it's a mega bill to fix! Lol. The lifters are hydraulic and they cannot therefore be adjusted. Just thought I should let you know. Cheers. Peter :)
  5. May be free Sim, but you have to do it every week or so. ;) With Nitrogen, you can forget about them for several months! :) Kwik-Fit at Strood did mine for £3 a tire. Best £12 I've spent! :) Go with 40psi all round. Worth doing mate. Cheers. Peter
  6. No!!! Don't whatever you do try adding normal air to increase the pressures. You'll need to ask the garage to top them up with more nitrogen. Mine are running 40psi like a few others. Wear and ride seem spot on mate. Think the yanks run lower pressures given their in a generally warmer climate than us. Hope this helps. :) Cheers. Peter
  7. Hey Guys, Looks like the dealership I bought my car from is selling another one! ;) http://www.prestigecarsltd.com/lexus-is-f-5.0-v8-8g-auto-417-bhp-in-windlesham-surrey-3603475 Looks like it's in pretty good shape from what I can see. :) They are a good bunch to deal with. Worth a look if you are in the market for one. Just surprised they were able to source another one given the small numbers on our roads! Think you could probably get it for closer to £20K (that's what I did!). I'd sell the private plate as well! ;) That way you can start buying a few goodies like a Takeda cold air intake! Happy to have a look at this with anyone that might want to buy it? Be amusing to pull up in mine! ;) Cheers. Peter
  8. Precisely Stu. ;) I think it's always good to have the next car search in mind. Some people don't understand that method of thinking though! Lol. Won't be doing anything for at least 3yrs (may have some shares that I can sell by then). More than happy with my IS-F till then though! ;)
  9. Hopefully your bank account will grow up as well if you do go for the GTR! ;) Paul Whiffin of Whifbitz has one. Running costs, replacement clutches, gearbox software upgrades etc..... costs a small fortune!!! The RS6 on the other hand looks to be similar to our cars in terms of servicing costs. Couldn't believe a few simple mods will unleash over 700HP! That's a lot! ;) I do love the GTR as well though. Just not practical with kids. Would need a second car for family duties if I do go down that road. The Audi would do both. I'm still loving my IS-F though. May just get a newer version. A 2012/13 plate maybe. :)
  10. I think I may have decided on my next car (won't be for a few years mind!). Going for the Audi RS6 C6 model (2008-2010). With a remap and simple mods it produces a mind boggling 700+ HP! It's also a V10. ;) Stunning motors with the same sleeper like qualities of the IS-F. It's either that or a newer IS-F. Will see how the finances look in a few years!!
  11. Must be a shock for you MrW. :( Hopefully any sensible potential buyer will do some digging before they place a bid or buy it. My first port of call would be to check with the relevant Owners Club forum to see if anyone knew anything about the car. If they find this thread, maybe they won't bother, or will at least know what they are getting involved in. Sad to see people trying to get away with things like this. Hopefully common sense will prevent anyone falling into what I believe is a scam of epic proportions!
  12. Wonder if Dunstable Downs Golf Club would be willing to host us?? Large secure car park, clubhouse for a drink/snacks etc? May be worth an enquiry Stu if that location would work for people?? :)
  13. Thanks Stu. :) Names down for the meet chap. ;) May be a bit groggy after flying back from LA though! Lol. You not tempted to get a set of the precision LED's for your car?? ;) They really do look the nuts mate. :)
  14. I'm in Stu. :) Should be around if my case in LA stays on schedule. If not, will let you know. :) Depending on numbers, Bluewater may be the best bet in terms of venue. Difficult trying to find a pub with sufficient parking for us lot, and their locals/customers. Happy to try somewhere different though if we can come up with a big enough venue. Bluewater works well given the restaurants, loos, shops for the better halves and kids to look around... Cheers. Peter :)
  15. I'll see what I can find out for you Keith. :) Thanks. Peter
  16. Hey Guys, So I'm all booked in for the big 6yr/60k service with Lexus Woodford. Car is going in on Monday 9th June. After I mentioned through emails that other owners had got better quotes from Toyota dealers for the service, I was very pleased to be told the price is now £645 which includes VAT and all parts. :) Just goes to show it's worth asking questions about these things as my previous quote was a more eye watering £840! ;) I'm also getting my boot liner at the same time (decided it would be cruel to steal Stu's one! Lol). Will let you know how it all goes nearer the time. Cheers. Peter :)
  17. Sounds good to me Sim. :) Maybe aim for dusk/evening to see the full effect of the different lights/LED's??
  18. True enough Farmer Dave! Lol. ;) Think you need this bumper sticker: 'My other car is a Massey Ferguson'! :) Lol. It is poor though. Saying that, the GTR is only available in an auto as well. That upset a lot of GTR purists (many including me still feel the R32 GTR is the true Godzilla). Got my wife a nice 2006 Mazda mx-5 with electric hardtop yesterday. M25 towards Dartford Bridge was gridlocked! :( Had to go all the way round the M25 past Heathrow! My calf muscles were dead by the time I got home last night! Lol. Was a joy to drive the IS-F tonight. :)
  19. The V160 and V161 in the mk4 Supra are cracking boxes as well. ;) The R154 is a 5-spd, the two above are 6-spd's. All can handle serious ponies! ;) Same goes for the MR2 Turbo, Celica GT4, Starlet GT etc. All have good manual gearboxes. I'm loving my auto though! ;) Same with the Supra! Lol. Just easier with the traffic jams I always sit in week after week!!
  20. Not had any issues with my Bridgestones so far. Tire wear is nice and even. Would recommend trying nitrogen instead of air in them. Mine have been great in terms of ride and maintaining pressure. Does sound like your geo is screwy?! Wheels In Motion are very good, but over near Enfield. :( My local Kwik Fit at Gravesend just installed a proper Hunter 4 wheel laser alignment setup as part of their refit. Going to give it a try I think. :) Hope you get it sorted chap. Cheers. Peter
  21. Right chaps. Thanks to a discount for buying 5 sets, price will be £70 a set. :) The kit installed on my car is the 8K version. I'm looking to be in LA the first week of June. I will bring the kits back with me. Happy to post out(will do them recorded delivery, but will need extra cash to cover it), or help fit them at my place. :) Will need the money transferred by 15th May or so at the latest. If you can call me in May (no need to do it right now), I'll give you the bank details. Gives a few weeks to get the cash together. ;) Will post my phone number now: 07734 994867 Any questions, post them here. Cheers. Peter :)
  22. Nice! :) Being in Barnet you're nice and close to Whifbitz over in Enfield mate. ;) Guessing you'll do your servicing at Lexus, but any mods, brakes, tuning parts you need, they'll be happy to help you out. Pretty sure there are two whites? Either that, or the one I looked at was badly re-painted! Lol ;) Get your name down for the rolling road day at AMD for a start. :) Be good to get a few more ISF's involved. Cheers. Peter :)
  23. Mine was £20K. Seems about right for the age/mileage. May get a newer one if I do ever change it. The 2011 cars are around £30K at the moment. Be interesting to see how much they come down in the next couple of years. I'm with Dave and Stu on our earlier cars. Doubt they'll drop much further. No more than any other cars anyway.
  24. I was disappointed with the 116d Sport they loaned me whilst servicing my Z4 3L. That was a very underpowered car! ;) Had a really nasty 944 Porsche once. It was 70's bronze with brown interior! Lol. The main issue was the leaking sunroof. Had a small indoor pool behind the seats!! ;) Only paid £1200 for it though! Probably the only Porsche I'll ever own! Had dodgy electrics as well.
  25. Sounds probable Dave. Get yourself down on the deck and have a crawl round mate. Better still, get it on a ramp and have a good nose round underneath. May even be one of the scuff guards? Hope you get it sorted. Cheers. Pete :)
