  1. Good thanks Sim. :) Check out the 'Lights, Camera, Action' thread I started. Just the main beams left to change. Will do those this weekend. Got a care package from Texas inbound as well with a few bits to keep me busy! Lol. Pick the wheel up in May. :) Cheers. Peter
  2. That just screams dodgy Neil! Lol. ;) Change your profile by the way. ;) Not looking anymore!! Glad you're enjoying it so far mate. Really are cracking motors. Loving mine. :) Cheers. Peter
  3. Hey Sim, In case you read this, decided on the OEM leather with blue stitching flat bottomed wheel instead. :) Decided the carbon section could be a step too far! ;) Will be bringing it back from my trip to Arizona in May. Should look sweet! Cheers. Peter :)
  4. Guessing no one is close enough to make this then? That's what happens with such limited cars I guess! :( Shame.
  5. Sorry to hear you're moving on chap. :( Shame it was after such a big list of issues. Saying that, you could have racked up more with a lot of different motors after 64k miles of use I guess. Either way, hope you enjoy the new motor. :) Love the plate by the way! ;) Shame it's out of my price range at the moment! :( Cheers. Peter :)
  6. Cheers David. :) I'm pleased with my progress so far. Plenty more to come though mate. ;) Not looking forward to doing the rear bumper reflector additional brake light conversion! Got to get the bumper off for that job! Looks awesome when it's done though.
  7. Hi Mark, This video is very useful: We don't have the sunglasses holder on our cars, but you remove the front plastic part carefully with a trim removal tool to expose the 2 Philips head screws behind. The bulbs twist out, and you pull them out of the holders. Then insert the LED replacement. Test it before you reinstall the unit back into the roof lining. The Precision kit comes with 3 trim tools to prevent damaging the plastics. If you want to try other bulbs, I can highly recommend a set of these from eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOJO-SET10-10-PIECE-PLASTIC-TRIM-REMOVAL-TOOL-SET-/290584128401?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item43a829eb91 Mine have been a real god send! So much safer than screwdrivers! ;) Let me know if you need anything else mate. Cheers. Peter :)
  8. For anyone interested in ordering the same bulbs I did, here are the links: Daytime Running Lights http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/mtec-501-w5w-extreme-evloution-5w-cree-smd-canbus-led-bulbs-white/ Main Beams http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/bolts-racing-9005-hb3-12v-65w-platinum-flash-white-hid-class-upgrade-car-auto-headlight-bulbs/ Fogs http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/bolts-racing-h11-12v-65w-platinum-flash-white-hid-class-upgrade-car-auto-headlight-bulbs/ The LED kit can be found here: http://www.precisionled.com/vehicle/lexus-led/is-f-led.html Any questions, post them here or PM me. Cheers. Peter :)
  9. Mine is the same Mark. :) Don't think you have anything to worry about chap. Cheers. Peter
  10. Cheers guys. :) You'll get a better feel of just how much brighter and crisper they are over the OEM lights when you see them in the flesh. Really do make a massive difference! I went for the 8K's Roheel. I ordered the works as well (basically everything they offer for the IS-F from the website!). You should get: Reverse Lights, LED interior package, license plates, trunk, vanity mirror, puddle lights. You can add the interior trim tools as well (should still be free I believe). Mine worked out at $184.14 including taxes, but think they are cheaper at the moment? Will have to add import taxes, shipping to the UK etc on top. If not, I am due over to the States in May. Could probably grab a couple of sets while I am over there if anyone wants one?? Cheers. Peter :)
  11. Hey Guys, So I had a fairly productive weekend on the car again. :) Managed to install my Precision LED lights, and my new fog bulbs. Just the main beams left to do. ;) Thinking I should get them done on Saturday if the weather is reasonable. The pictures really don't do them much justice. You need to see them in person at night (obviously!) to get the full effect. Installation was generally straightforward, although you need to be meticulous and take your time to avoid any damage. Unsuprisingly the puddle lights were the trickiest bit. Not so much the dis-assembly, but the fact the LED's they sent were longer than the OEM halogen's. Takes plenty of fiddling and testing to get them spot on. Have also seen what someone said about the initial flickering. This is due to the halogen's getting increasingly brighter when you open the door for example. LED's can't do that. It's on or off really. I'm not fussed as it is only for maybe a second, then you get full LED brightness. :) Let me know what you think. Cheers! Peter :) The reverse lights are amazing!! Really bright and crisp. Check out the rear view camera shot. Really has helped illuminate things behind the car when reversing. Fogs are a very good match colour wise with the dipped beam's.
  12. No worries Mark. :) Glad you got it sorted chap. Cheers. Pete
  13. Bit like the Gumball Rally, but at a fraction of the cost! ;) Usually it's somewhere in Europe. Will try and dig up some info.
  14. Supra guys are saying June would be better for them. Got quite a few away doing the Dragonball rally in May. :) Have another guy interested if the dates work for him. That's 3 now Stu. Cheers. Peter :)
  15. Not sure Stu. Only one way to find out I guess! ;) May hold off until after the RR day we are planning, that way I can do another run to see what gains it produces?? I'm guessing with so few IS-F's in the country, no one has had this done before? Pretty sure they reckoned it worked best on the bigger capacity motors. Can't hurt to try it. :)
  16. That is impressive mate. Think 26 or so is my all time best so far! ;) I've done the smooth, 70 all the way motorway trip, but never got 30 out of it! :( I know I lost a couple when I fitted the Takeda cold air intake. Might try that teraclean treatment as advertised by Ed China from Wheeler Dealers? Might help improve things. Pretty sure the last owner didn't use good fuel or drive it very nicely.
  17. I'm back in the States in May mate. Could get one from Sewell delivered to a mate over there if needed? Just a thought. Hope you get something sorted chap. Cheers. Peter :)
  18. Must admit I try to take turns wide and avoid as many potholes as I can. Dread to think how precious I'll be after they get refurbished! Lol. Been lucky so far. Nothing more annoying though.
  19. Probably not. Hoping the refresh with the caliper repaint will give it the look I am after mate. :) Also means I can spend the money on other things like the PPE headers!! ;)
  20. No worries chaps. Hoping we may have one member that is nearby? Not looking promising so far though! :( I'd have gone myself if I didn't have the kids that weekend.
  21. They do look nice Stu. :) Ace Mesh 7's were the ones I really liked. Thing is we have BBS alloys as standard! Why would you swap mega expensive rims for cheaper ones?! I get the fact they can be lighter, more individual than the OEM ones, but you can't deny the stock ones look lovely if you keep on top of the cleaning. ;) Hoping mine should really pop once I get them re-finished in the hyperchrome! :)
  22. Got 2 interested from the Supra forum so far Stu. They have a rolling road trip lined up this coming weekend! :( Might have a few that need additional roller time if they don't get good results though?? I'm pretty sure we can get 15 involved chap. Will also depend on whether the dates work for people.
  23. Nice trio you had there mate. :) Yes chap, been involved with the mkiv forum since back in 2003! ;) As per other posts, I'm goof friends with Paul Whiffin of Whifbitz. Shout anytime if you have any questions about your IS-F. There are a few of us on here that are relatively new owners, so starting to look at a few mods. ;) Lighting is a good one. See my Productive Day thread. Going to try and do the fogs and main beams next. Should look the part! :) Cheers. Peter
