  1. After 450 miles it is only £65, a small cost for what is otherwise a very very long walk....... and to travel is such comfort !
  2. Never knowing they were available, I just thought some members might be interested in this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Roof-rack-for-Lexus-...1QQcmdZViewItem
  3. If you think it is your last car, get it and enjoy it while you can. You won't regret it!
  4. I have a spare one FS, but it is for a Mk III. Try amazon, ebay in america, email the sellers of cars that are being broken too. Good Luck.
  5. shaft, I agree whole hartedly with you. I was warned, "once an LS driver, always an LS driver". I too have a sports car, for sunny days and grand touring, but it is so hard in comparrison and I have to unfold myself out even after only an hour on the road. But I still love it for the raw power and handling.
  6. A kit car with a Lexus V8, now that sounds potant ! Any pics or links?
  7. There "was" one on UK ebay a week ago, I gave up watching when it passed £60. So I just keep an old travel blanket in the boot.
  8. Shaft, I'm intregued to hear what you traded in, which is worth twice the LS? Looks like a very nice example and low mileage too, congratulations on a good find.
  9. tried it and it wont turn - seems to go in but not sure if all way ??? managed to turn it once - few days ago. but not since... i seem to have 2 masters and a valet but none of them turn the lock at moment ... any ideas to loosen it... I'm not sure if this post is clear. The switch that pulls out is in side the car, by the boot release and petrol flap release levers. This is how you lock/unlock the boot from inside the car. When the barrel is pushed in it locks the boot. In this state the valet keys will not work in the boot, not sure about the master key, but very worhwile checking that the cabin switch is off, "Barrel is in out position". Just put the master key in and turn, it should pop out. Good Luck, hope that helps.
  10. I have a 1995 MkIII LS400. A relitive in the USA has found me a 1996 Electrical Wiring Diagram, official Lexus manual. As both cars will be a Mk III, will the 96 diagrams be good for my 95 car? Also is there much difference between the USA EWD manual and a UK EWD manual. Thanks in advance for help.
  11. In that case, get that silver one off ebay and I'll do your cambelt for you at £395 plus parts, or £295 plus parts if you let me have the tow bar off it? but I guess from your avitar, you would prefer a dark colour for the sunny north. Oh yes, and I am researching an LPG conversion for the LS400.
  12. Thanks Arvid. Any pics of the finished article and what you had to dremel away? Tony, If you still want a set, I'll share the postage with you, from the USA. How about a Group Buy? Does the forum Admin organise that?
  13. On mine, after cruising and I have had to hit the brakes, I flick the paddle up and the car accelerates back up to the last preset speed.
  14. I too have a Mk III 1995 with 125k on the clock. I get 25.5 overall, but work is a 100 mile M25 commute. As low as 20 around town but as good as 30 on a long trip. Between 380 and 480 miles to a tank. Might try and get the magic 500 to the tank, when I have more time, because you need time & patience to drive all day at 60. I don't look at it as 15p a mile, just look at it as an extra 5p a mile to travel in the best car available and I always arrive refreshed even after 2 and a half hours on the London orbital car park.
  15. I spent 4-6 months looking for mine and found a good one. I really wanted a 95 car with the bigger brakes etc. If I did not have an LS400, I would rush out to see this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MEWA:IT only problem is the remote is not working. On mine you need to be next to the car for it to work anyway, so no big deal. AND, it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO cheap....... at the moment.
  16. John, I completly agree. I replaced the EGR pipe, just 6 hours work, but Lexus quoted me £700, just for the labour. For me, it's a gentle giant, pretty simple too for most mechanical things. I'm getting all my cambelt/waterpump bits from Sewell-Lexus in Texas, oil filters are just £2, a saving of £7 , so I'm going to get a box of 10. I am curious about shipping charges, but we will see. So, is anyone going to the USA, could they bring me back a set of front indicator lights?
  17. T7RY B, thanks , seems so obvious now, so I've sent a question to seller. I'll let you all know the outcome.
  18. Has any one purchased a set of clear front indicator lens from the UK ebay for a 1995 Mk III LS400? There weresome up there before Christmas, but Murphys law...... now there are none. I'm keen to get intouch with the seller, perhaps he has more but just not listed them. Perhaps some one can tell me what the quality was like and what the sellers ID was? Many thanks in advance, my car is in for a frontal repair and that is why I need some now.
  19. Get a GOOD digital pressure gauge! Halfords of all places have a nice one, just make sure you get the one that does BAR & PSI about £16 in a nice case too. So long as you do not have any punctures or leaky valves, you won't need to inflate that often, so a foot pump is probably ideal, and it's a reason not to go to the gym too!
  20. I think I'll give it another year before I chop my MkIII in for Mk IV, actually at this rate I'll probably get more for that if I break it.
  21. Thanks swordfish, I'll be doing that! Especially as I hate to have oil slicks on the drive, not nice to lie in when under the car.
