  1. Why do you say that? I had a look at an XE and was impressed with it. I may well part ex next year for an R-Sport. Still lovin the Lexus at the moment though!! The new XF looks great to. Ed
  2. The Hybrid will not activate if the 12v battery is not charged. When the AA man jumped started mine he put his clamp meter on it & the hybrid was charging the 12v battery at 40 amps for a while!! Your car will be fixed by the time you get it back!! I would not be best pleased if my dealer took 2 weeks to source a battery!! They sound clueless. Good luck with it, Ed
  3. I would have though when sitting waiting for someone with the radio on. The battery is rated at 50Ah so actually not that small a capacity. The AA man also said to me to not use accessory and just let the engine cycle on & off. Maybe the current draw from the electronics high? I might go out and measure it!!
  4. IT is probably what the diagnostics computer has said. In reality the small 12v battery in the boot has failed. How it can take over two weeks to source one is beyond me. More likely they are so ignorant they have confused the 12v battery for the main traction battery which isn't even 12v more like 200v!! Take your car to another dealer who understands how the Lexus Hybrid works. Good luck with it. Ed
  5. My car did the same exhibiting the same symptoms as you describe. It reminded me of an electronic game I had as a kid which went haywire when the batteries were running low!! I had to call the AA who jump started it through the terminal in the fuse box. I checked the battery terminals in the boot and tightened them up although they were not particularly loose. It has not done it since. The battery is a 005L available from many suppliers for around £50 delivered next day. https://www.tayna.co.uk/S4-024-Bosch-Car-Battery-Type-005L-S4024-P9715.html The traction batteries are under the boot floor not the bonnet!! Ed
  6. WW Leather Clean & Feed doesn't feel oily or leave any shine or oil behind. It leaves my seats with a clean matt & supple as new look finish so I doubt it is adding anything to the surface. I also like Dr Leather cleaner which also leaves seats looking matt supple with a nice leather scent. These would be choice for a cleaner that also has a nice leather scent. Ed
  7. We do know what we are talking about because we answered the OP`s question!! Gliptone or WW Leather clean & feed. These clean & have a real leather smell as asked for!! Now had the OP asked for cleaner that didnt have a real leather smell to it the answer would be different!! It is all good advice even if opinions differ. Ed
  8. This was the OP`s question. He wants a leather cleaner that leaves a nice Leather scent The Leather clean & feed is an excellent cleaner and has made my seats feel supple and leaves a nice scent.
  9. Wonder wheels Leather clean & feed does all this in one go no faffing around. It was the sealant that smelled of chemicals not the cleaner I expect a leather cleaner to leave a nice leather smell though which the dodo doesn't. Another good choice would be Dr Leather Liquid Cleaner. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/interior/leather-care/dr-leather-advanced-leather-cleaner/prod_1558.html
  10. The OP`s question was The Dodo juice doesn't have a leather scent and smells of chemicals. The Wonder Wheels leather Clean & Feed works very well and leaves a nice subtle leather smell. I tried both and didn't like the Dodo scent and it lingered for days to. Ed
  11. Cleans and smells of leather. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/91557/wonder-wheels-leather-clean-feed http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/interior-cleaning-vacuums/wonder-wheels-leather-clean-feed-500ml
  12. I have the dreaded brake grunt but from the back. Lexus dealer said it was normal! I am tempted to take the pads out myself and copper grease them. My dealer is not particularly helpful and a bit useless. Ed
  13. A battery can fail so even a jump start will not work. It happened to my previous car. What makes you sure it isn't the battery on your car? Ed
  14. My seats look like new even after 27k miles. I have the black leather though. Could it be what type of clothes you wear or something? Ed
  15. On Lexus Australia they have a spec called Sports Luxury which has HID headlights no option for LED`s. Lexus New Zealand also has "Sports Luxury" with LED`s as standard. Both RHD countries to so why no LED`s in the UK??
  16. It odd because the Dutch configuration shows HID`s as standard and no mention of an LED option. Then again my grasp of Dutch is rather basic!!
  17. The Uniroyals do not have rim protection. MPG seems about the same so far. I kerberd my wheels a few times with he Bridgestones and the rim protection didnt do much. imho the Uniroyals look nicer on the car maybe because of the lack of protruding rim protection? I am more used to the car now so haven't kerbed it for a while!! Ed
  18. Lovely car black looks great. I agree on the Bridgestones. I have replaced them with 4 Uniroyal Rainsport 3`s which has made a noticeable difference to ride quality. Ed
  19. LED headlights can be better than HID`s but it seems that in the case of the Lexus is300 the HID`s are better. More light (double)output for one. I read a thread on another Lexus site and they all said the HID option is better as they had compared them. Steve44 also started a thread with links to some fairly extensive testing done in the USA which put the HID option ahead of the LED`s. In Rayanns video the LED lights do look impressive though. The Matrix lights on the new A4 are superb but they use multiple LED`s. At least all is300h have HID as standard. Our next door neighbour has a pretty new 3 series which has standard halogens which look like yellow candles! The OP wanted to know if he could swap HID for LED? ED
  20. You car looks superb. I am tempted to add the exhausts to mine but I bet the price is astronomical!!
  21. I have an IS300h Fsport with 18" wheels. I recently changed from rock hard original spec Bridgestones to a set of softer sidewall Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyres. The ride although still firm is noticeably more comfortable. Ed
  22. That is not how it should be. Looks like the material is separating from the backing. Old Jags were notorious for it.
  23. I floor my fsport and it goes instantly not noticed any delay
  24. My Fsport does not have cornering lights, most don't but does have LED fogs but most are halogens. I do see that the beem is flat without the kick up to the left which makes sense. "any vehicle that has LED or HID lights have a flat beam, which does not require any modification when travelling to Europe" this is wrong though as many cars with HID lights, my previous one included had a L/R switch for continental driving. All it did was move a plate to mask the left side kick though. Maybe they refer only to Lexus vehicles? Ed
  25. Who says they don't need adjusting for continental driving? The dipped beam favours the left so would dazzle if driving on the right. My headlights are better than the xenons on my previous car so maybe why I am happy with them ! Ed
