  1. The very latest technology LED matrix lights fitted to the new A4 for example are excellent. The consensus of opinion comparing the Lexus LED headlights for the IS300h is they are not any better than the standard HID`s. The beam throw can be adjusted if it is set to low.
  2. The OP didn't cite a reason for wanting to convert to LED headlights. It sounds like your headlights may not be set up correctly. Main beam or dipped?
  3. Its because you were going to fast and had the main beam on http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-3rd-gen-2014-present/706277-led-vs-hid-headlamps-4.html Summery assuming its authenticity :- IS Headlights HID 3000 Lumens, LED 1400 Lumens. Can you advise the OP on how to convert his IS from HID to LED?
  4. afaik some is300`s have LED headlights. UK market spec is HID. If you could source two complete lamps then it would probably be possible to swap them. Why bother though? I doubt you would see any increase in light may even be less. Ed
  5. I have just replaced all four tyres on my f-sport and the wear was slightly worse on the rear inside edge after 27k miles. Probably ok for another 3k but I always replace tyres before the wear is down to the indicators. The original Bridgstones are a hard trye so I doubt the Uniroyal Rainsport 3 which are softer will do as many miles but they are noticeably more comfortable. Ed
  6. The "whine" is only the engine revving its not from the transmission. All petrol engine autos do similar when you kick down. A slight bit of revving engine is nothing compared to constant diesel clatter imho. Odd how motoring journos never mention that. Ed
  7. Welcome to the forum , Great choice of car. I actually quite like the XE and it will probably be my next car. Compared to the Lexus it is a little plain imho. The XE forum is also full of complaints about the standard ICE/sat nav!! Where is the nice analogue clock in the JAG? Screen and vents set a bit low to. Still a really impressive vehicle though. Thank goodness Jag & Lexus have not as yet fitted a tacked on screen like the German makes. I cannot stand the screen in the C class it looks like an afterthought. Ed.
  8. I adjusted the sensitivity and imho it works much better now. I always find it strange that drivers say a mouse is not as good as a jog wheel yet we all use a mouse to operate a computer and have done since the invention of the home computer. I am using one now and wouldn't want a jog wheel. I had a play with a friends BMW and wasn't overly impressed either way. Ed
  9. Yes the one I bought had a one Cree (or was it a COB) as the main chip supplemented by several normal smd type.
  10. Correct although I think it is a W16W but the fog light is an LED. I replaced my reversing light bulb with an LED equivalent and it is loads brighter and almost negates there only being one. Ed
  11. I don't notice any hesitation from 0 to 30 when nipping out of a side road into gap in the traffic. Ed
  12. Satin black would be fairly easy to match with a rattle can. Most Fsports though have a metallic gunmetal type finish which is not standard or easy to match with a Halfords spray can. Ed
  13. It is a great install. I like this camera because it matches the way Lexus fitted the mirror & rain sensor so looks stock. Mine recorded the mechanic at the dealership saying to his colleague " that's the best fitted dash cam I has ever seen, I didn't even notice it" Ed.
  14. It would have looked even more discrete if you had mounted the lens in line with the edge of the dotted area. The cable cover is optional or can be cut to length. Great choice of camera. Ed
  15. I fitted the Lexus OEM type designed for the IS300. looks the part in body colour imho.
  16. imho just input the postcode when in the car!! Ed
  17. I prefer what Lexus designed for the IS and factory (or dealer fit) they are not after market. The pictures you have pasted look like Jap spec for the 350 or the TRD type not what Lexus UK offer. The only opinion that matters is yours in reality. Good Luck with it.
  18. You can plan a trip on your PC via the portal and then it is sent to the car using the internet!! The car can connect by tethering to your mobile. My TomTom cannot do that!! Is it quicker than entering a postcode while sat in the car though? Not really imho. Ed
  19. The Lexus original type spoilers are wider & curved to fit the boot lid and look superb colour matched. If you like carbon fibre effect and the size then that is all that counts. Post some more pictures once fitted. Ed
  20. I think red light is used to as it doesn't affect your night vision.

  22. The point of ambient lighting is it is on all the time same as all the dashboard / switch illumination. It is very subtle but just makes the gear stick area glow slightly like in my colleagues Audi which is where I stole the idea from once I realised the Lexus doesn't have it.
  23. They are the the ones I fitted to my IS300 Fsport. Unless they have changed them, I bought mine a year ago although they look the same. Lots of parts are common across many Toyoata & Lexus models often with different part numbers. Ed
