  1. I have noticed is250, you cannot retrofit anything almost. So anyone reading this and possibly going to buy am is250, get one with all the buttons. At some time of life, one wants it.
  2. what year are your cars? Wondering if it is to do with year of manuf you get a letter. Because I have not not any yet.
  3. I can see some clean oil on the old plug... that golden residue on the white part and threads...
  4. btw don't take my word for it. I am just guessing. I wonder if it is in need for new plugs? but then you would have seen an error code I guess...
  5. The wooshh sound might be normal. It is the brake servo. If it was leaking air you would have known. The brakes would be very hard to operate. I will check with my is250 and let you know if I find it alarming. No, I am not a mechanic. But I try to get my hands dirty. I had experince of using car motor mounts for some project so I just know that much. Other than, I was once going to change motor mounts on a mazda. They were hydrolic. Easy job but lexus will be quit complicated. Plus if it is the motor mount, you might need to hoist the engine. In case of mazda being simple design, I just lifted the entier engine using a plank of wood and a trolly jack. Thinking about it, it might not be DIY for lexus but you can try visual inspection before any conclusion. I have seen 4 types of motor mounts. Simple rubber, hydrolic, vaccum based and motor based. I am sure someone will post picture of a diagram soon here. I do not have access to the manual just now. The exhasut; I noticed on someones car with a bad job that the exhuast was not free hanging and it caused vibration to travel through chasis. But this should not be true in your case.
  6. I guess that comes to indivisual choice. I do not like black interior. The difference is night and day, having owned both. And average person changes car in 3 years in UK so no time to clean it. Ivory or light interior biggest disadvantage is the color wears out. It might be a good thing if you are keeping the car since with black, one might ignore the shiney wear which tends to cracks and eventually tearing off the leather. On light color leather, one would be eager to fix it soon as the color fades away.
  7. Thanks all. it is black color ivory interior. Also for car rental I will discuss more as I am still reading on it. My idea was more renting out lexury cars.
  8. Well... I cannot drive for a recall 100 miles. People have jobs and weekend they are closed... Lexus checker says voluntary recall. Does that mean it is not important enough for them to be bothered?
  9. How do you guys regiester your car for lexus to know? I did lexus recall check and it says there is a recall. But it doesn't say what it is. I do not have a local lexus dealership. Have a Toyota. Will they fix it?
  10. unfortunately, I am too far away. I am not sure if lexus engine mounts are vaccum based or have an electronic motor in them. If vaccum, It might be the vaccum line got knocked off during some repair job or if electronic, the wires got damaged or the connector needs cleaning. You can check out lexus is250 repair manual if you are a DIY person. Did you had any exhaust work done recently? Did you had any repair work done to the car? How many miles?
  11. Can you post a video of it? A water bottle might work. My best gues would be engine foundations. Second guess exhaust.
  12. steve: if it makes money not carin who drives it. :) rayaans: makes sense. esp diesel is loved in UK. But does that mean this car will not sell from my hands at all? We are all sensible here and I wouldn't but it for myself but... when people buy cars they do not buy it for any other reasons than low tax, new plate, and most importantly "fell in love as soon as they saw it".
  13. hmm... this will keep you distracted toffee: Did you know that non eu immigrants cannot claim benefits due to their visa ? Did you know to claim benefit one has to show that person lived in uk for x amount of time and contributed? Did you know to claim benefit one has to show every week they have applied for job and prove they have been trying? Did you know the immigrants pay more in tax and a fraction is taken out as benefit? Did you know it is the brits who take more out than give back in? Did you know a non eu doctor comes to NHS for locums and get paid 400 pounds an hour and travel business or first class on your money? While eu docots get paid the same as any brit doctor ? Did you know that most immigrants come here to earn more and work hard to prove back to their home they have achived better as oppose to be lethargic and show how they have failed? Explains why they work harder and ready to take any sort of job be it be back breaking strawberry picking? Did any website or newspaper ever show the benefit and advtanges immigrants bring in? Ok... I might be shooting my own foot here :))) I can keep going. This exuses for benefit is flawed.
  14. This calls for distraction... Toffee what's your view on brexit?
  15. I am getting general feeling thatit is risky. Just on that point, cant one buy and rent them out ?
  16. yea. a 2014. Yes. you cannot find them many on autotrader...not sure why... maybe because it is still new ?
  17. Gramera That won't be a problem. rayaans ... yeah it is slow. 2.0 petrol... But that is the average car is. I moved from mazda 3 2.0 sport to lexus is250... Having said that... I have no clue about market... I think girls will prefer a 2.0 merc. low tax and merc badge. double pan roof and all.
  18. Blues: I cannot afford to keep one or fix one so I drive a lexus.. :) Plus 2.0 ... nah.. I am never going below 2.5 6cyl. next has to be 3.5 8cyl or more I know there are people here who have done what I intent to do. Best place to ask I guess.
  19. yeah.. so thats another worry. selling a 25k car. it is an E200. on top of that an amg and a sport version. Looks pleasing to the eyes so it has a plus point there. I am ok with part exchange as it just means more money to be made.
  20. Thanks all. The car I am looking at is a MB. valued at 25k. Had almost.all the buttons. 2.0 petrol auto.
  21. Hi All I am thinking of buying one car and selling it for profit. Now I can get one for cheaper than what trade sell it for. But the question will be if I will manage to sell it. The disadvtange I have is I cannot offer finance. How much off putting is this? The car I am looking at still has warranty on it. What else is there as a risk? Thanks.
