  1. I've only used Lexus Edgware road and Lexus Croydon (part of the same group) - and though their service levels have been really good over the years, I believe that there are signs that the service quality is dropping...I suspect that may have to do with the brand becoming more popular with record sales?? The service guys are getting way complacent and don't know the product (V8 ISF) well enough! My dash cam was switched off the last time round and I wasn't happy!! I always take photos of my wheels, mileage and body work before I hand over my keys. Their service section is a few hundred yards away so unfortunately, they have to take it on the public road to get there...Grrrrr!!! Took a service plan with them for the ease and the stamps (also laziness) but I get brakes etc done at an independent garage and the charges are more reasonable.
  2. the rear not automatically unlocking might be the child safety lock on the side panel of each door??
  3. Hey Guys, If it's not too late...I'd love to jump on to the bandwagon for the blast, sorry, cruise, to wales next month. Although I suspect I'll need new pads after my visit to BrandsH within the next couple weeks. P.S. the forum has been extremely interesting! great job guys! I should start contributing a bit more on there!...Grrr!!!
  4. Good spot Mark! I'll make a special visit to one of my clients down that area and kill two birds with one stone...I'll be there!
  5. It's only been around a week since I've changed my discs and pads all round - Brembo discs, with Pagid pads for the rears and Textar for the fronts; all purchased via Eurocarparts. Although in my haste, I bl***dy bought two sets of pads each accidentally - no probs as I'll just use them next time round. Paid £100 to fit so it all cost less around £400 (excluding by extra pads grrrr!). Regarding the initial bite and performance when heavy braking is required, I'm very pleased so far. I can't comment on life and braking performance when the pads are mid-low, however based on around 8 days of use driving on mixed roads (my daily drive) then I wouldn't hesitate to use Textar (front) or Pagid (rear) again. Of course, I wanted Brembos to stick with OEM but nowhere except Lexus dealer (overpriced) had them.
  6. Hi All, My sincere apologies for not being able to make last Saturday - gutted! I had to urgently travel for work on Friday night and only returned today. Would love to make the next one...hopefully we can book one again this year? :) For those who made it, yours cars look great! Again, my apologies. We'll be keeping an eye on the posts...all the best. Derrick
  7. Looking forward to it...hopefully the weather will be reasonable!
  8. Daily drive for me and I love it! Feels special when I get in even after just two days of no use. I know a v8 as a daily drive isn't to everyone's liking, but boy it makes the daily commute rather enjoyable at times!
  9. Voted for the 13th, however I can also do the 20th just in case this swings helps. Can't do the 17th I'm afraid. Hopefully more guys could vote and the turnout is good!
  10. I'll be there either on either the 13th or 20th; will check with misses and confirm later.
  11. I too was excited when I went to buy/collect mine. Actually, I still do get excited nearly every time I walk up to drive mine. You will not get fed-up of that exhaust note when the 2nd valve opens!! enjoy!
  12. Look forward to seeing/hearing the results. I have a Borla exhaust which is amazing under full throttle but I find it drones at around 2krpm and that is sometimes very annoying and would like to be able to simple switch it off...
  13. I seem to have suffered the same fate here...both my driver side tips have just vanished. At first I thought it was some nutter who may have nicked it! However, there's no trace of anyone tampering on the cameras...it therefore seems like they just fell off! I do recall hearing some strange noise, like something metal(ish) dropped after driving off from a restaurant with the kids and better half on mothers day! I thought: it's a Lex so it cannot be my car! I wish I'd checked now! Grrr!! Anyways, I've just ordered two pairs from the US for what will cost me around £200. I decided to change all four so they all have the same look/finish once installed! I ordered a rear diffuser while I was at it also. Grande total - around £400 - same as what the dealer was charging me for only one pair!
  14. That looks amazing Geoff! I'm waiting for spring to get one done...cant wait!
  15. I use them for both my cars due to convenience and pricing. let us know how much difference the wider rubber makes...
  16. I'm changing the fronts this weekend on mine to Michelin Pilot Sport 2 on the standard 225/40/19 rubber after considering the wider options, so it would be great to get some feedback from you if you go down the larger route.
  17. I believe it also has: - sport button on the steering wheel instead of being on the dash next to to the steering stalk - fancy Nike swoosh type headlights -DAB radio
  18. I own a 2009 ISF and drive in London and the SE a bit and I find the ride quality to be very acceptable for the performance on offer. The ride quality I find is more forgiving than my 09 BMW 320i with run-flats that I had as a 2nd car until a couple years ago. My mate has a v8 M3 and we both agree that the ISF's ride quality for a daily drive is more suitable (I don't track my car but I do use it as a daily drive). Again, this topic is all subjective but I wife who didn't like being a passenger in the BMW finds the ISF ride not far off a Q5 that we had until recently. Buying a newer model with the DRL, sport button on the steering wheel (instead of being on the left side near the start button and a slightly more forgiving suspension would be nice BUT they cost a lot more. This is a performance saloon (that doesn't break down) and not a limo! Be brave, go for it and have fun! :)
  19. Welcome on board Mark! It is a great car! Most people don't know what it is either so it makes for great petrol station chats (in the summer that is!) look out for speed cameras! I love the car's dual personality; especially the one when it comes alive over 3500rpm!
  20. I think I'll hold on to my IS-F for at least another year, maybe two. I don't want to have 3 cars, including my wife's, therefore my car must be practical (two kids), fast (v8 - great sound!) and ideally, not too common! I got board of buying cars based on running costs (all within reason of course!) and wanted something fast but which is also reliable. I suspect that I'll go for the GS-F next which will be rare, or another car I may seriously consider is the Maserati Ghibli (404bhp version) because it's interior is quite lovely and it looks good. However, Italians are not best known for reliability!
