  1. Hi, Big Thumbs up Gord for talking the time to Help another Member Out :zee:
  2. Hi, If the engines cold the idle will be high so the car will want to lurch forward,if your talking of a sort of bang and lurch forward then it could be wear on the prop shaft in normal engine warm conditions due to the slack in the drive transmission. Chips.
  3. Hi and Welcome to LOC :) Chips.
  4. Hi and Welcome to LOC :) The Altezza members are growing on here all the time and theres plenty of info on this site so youve come to the right place ;) Toyota/Lexus its all the same :D Chips.
  5. Hi and Welcome to LOC :) Have a look through the LS section on the main forum page most has been answered http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php As a rule have the car checked over by the AA or RAC because you could end up paying as much for the price of the car in parts if it fails a MOT. The main dealers should be able to get you most/all parts from imports, but at a price there will more than likely be a wait as they will have to order them in. Good Luck with find the car for you. Chips.
  6. Hi, How long have you owned the car? Have you found this problem well driving in bone dry conditions?. If you were posting this when the weather was warmer and dryer id say you might need the geometry looked at if its happening in the dry. TBH this time of year with a RWD car you have to be Very Careful because of the slippery road conditions.I went out in my car last night and i had to be careful because the road was slippery. Its all about squeezing the power on smoothly keeping traction.Your better off waiting until the car is straight before putting the power on in poor conditions.Ive keep the traction control on for a change and in a straight ive had the TRC light coming on at 40/50 mph when accelerating hard. Chips.
  7. Hi, Im not 100% sure but id say the problem is a dirty/faulty sensor that reads the teeth and registers it to the speedo.
  8. Hi, It was Great to see Topgear back on the tele. Heres to the Hamster back as himself B)
  9. Hi, Glad to hear your liking the Autobox. For Trackdays id have a Manual box every time. But in the real world with the amount of traffic on the roads and all the stop/starting i love the autobox,it helps keep me calm :D The autobox has come along way from the old 3 speeds that used to be common in most cars of the 60s,70s and 80s.
  10. Hi and Congratulations to you Both. All the Best for the future :)

  13. Hi, Just thought id let everyone know,i normally just buy the newer version and thats it until the next year. I bought 2006 as the title says and that would have been it,a friend said you can update it for free :winky: Its nice of Norton not to update it on its own accord on live up date You can click on the link below if you have 2006 installed and upgrade it to 2007 for free. Make sure you copy the addon link and save it in the small window as its downloading the main program because the anti spam and parental control and other features have to be downloaded after ;) http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/su...e2007/index.jsp Theres Norton fraud monitoring like on Windows Version, which is not on the 2006 of Norton. The 2006 anti Virus version also looks like it can be upgraded. Cheers.. Chips.
  14. Hi and Welcome to LOC Juniper :) Glad to see you found the answers on here and hope you stick around. It might be worth saying Hello in the new members section. Chips.
  15. Hi, The cheapest mk4 i can see on Autotrader is for just over 5k. Everything listed extras wise apart from how many miles its done. Its alot of car for the money, but could be alot of trouble for the money. The bottom line is spend the inspection charge that the AA or RAC do,i think it was around £100. I know if you dont end up buying the car and have to look at another car £100 a time is not cheap. But....BIG BUT the parts for these cars are not cheap and if theres things to fix or the car fails a MOT on something you could spend half as much as you paid for the car to get it fixed. If i was looking for another LS id make sure it has the main dealer FSH,because if you can afford to buy the car in the first place your not going to be worried about the cost of servicing and repairs. Even though these cars are only selling for a fraction of what they cost new,the main dealers still see them as a 50/60k car and reflect this in the price of parts. Look at buy a LS as if your buying a House and have it checked over ;) All the best if you do go on to buy a mk4. Chips.
