Hi, The speedo works off the gearbox so what ever profile tyre you fit to the front,shouldnt effect the speedo. Chips. -

Hi, Did you turn the heater setting to hot? That would help keep the engine temp down.If you did was there hot air coming out of the vents? Its might be a air lock in the system or if the cars been stood a while then like you say it could be a sticky thermostat.

Hi, My mk1 Aristo is stock power wise and i get 15 to 20 mpg around town and on a steady run nearly 30mpg.

Hi, Also when the ECT is switched to power it stiffens up the suspension and the gearbox does not go into lock up mode reducing the engine revs making the drive more lively on the throttle. Chips.

Hi, It might just a case of cleaning and oiling the sensor.The door switches in my mk1 LS were sticky and i cleaned they up and they worked fine.It just a case of removing the rubber dirt protector and spraying some WD40 into the switch and it should work fine. Good Luck. Chips.
