  2. Hi, If the cars got a long MOT on it and there are not many faults which are all covered in the GS300 section then id say Buy it!!
  3. Hi and Welcome to LOC :) Its Good to see another LS member on here. Do a search as there are problems with the seats breaking on one side of there runners. It can be fix. 5. Hi, The only other way of topping up the header tank would be to.....When the engines cold and not been started take the pipe off that comes out the bottom of the header tank and goes into the top of the radiator.Take the pipe end off that goes into the neck of the rad top and then in the pipe going back up to the header tank, stick a funnel in the pipe and hold it higher than the header tank and top it up that way. Its more than likey be quicker to break the old cap off and screw a new one on and top up. As for the oil cleaner stuff i stay well away of that as it can cause problems on older engines.
  6. Hi, Thanks for the update and glad to hear you found the problem. Happy Motoring!! Chips.
  7. Hi, Any Good car parts shop should be able to get hold of a copy set of HT leads and in the info books able to tell you which plugs you will need. Its always good to ask a couple of shops and if you get the same answers then you know they know what there talking about :winky:
  8. Hi, Sorry to hear the news. Our thoughts are with you and wish you well with the OP. Wishing you well for the future. Chips.
  9. Hi, Glad to hear you found out what the problem was. Try calling Swift breakers, they might have the part and they can also post it to you.Ive used them myself a few times and have never had any problems with them. Swift 01903856568 Chips.

    Hi

Hi and Welcome to LOC :) Chips.
  12. Hi, At least there is still coolant in the header tank,so ive got a little time for now. But the header coolant tank cap will have to be removed at some point and replaced, best to buy another first then some how get the old cap off even if you have to break the cap to get it off.Just be careful not to damage the header tank. The other thing to check from what you say is to take the oil cap off the engine, its on the top of the engine where you put oil in.If you look under the cap and find the same colour sludge then the reason your using coolant is because the engines headgasket is leaking and will need to be replaced.Because coolant is getting into the oil and over time will damage the engine Hope thats of help. Good Luck.. Chips.
  13. Hi, Good Topic!! Ive asked on my replies before, let us know how you get on...only to find they dont :D
  14. Hi, As ROYT says. I found it a right pain in the ***** of a job to get the lock out and more tricky to get it all back together, the main problem is the lack of space to get your hands in and around from into the panel of the door. Did you find any info doing a search, its a very common on just the drivers door as that gets most use over the years.
  15. Hi, The throttle body and butterfly valve would be the easiest parts to check and clean first as that might give the hesitation problems. It would be well worth fitting new spark plugs and HT leads and rotor arms and distributor caps. It would also be worth fitting a new oil fitter if its dirty. You will find the engine will run alot cleaner/better after all that. Good Luck.. Chips.
  16. Hi, You did replace each side of the car with a new spring so you put a set of new springs on the front.... or did you fit new springs on the front and rear? If youve just replaced the springs then you could replace the shocks, but you will have to make sure they match the spring rate of the spring. Chips.
  17. Hi, I think the coil packs were used on the newer models, maybe from the mk4 onwards This link should be of use to you. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/ignition/sparkplugs.html Heres the main website...... http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/ Cheers.. Chips.
  18. Hi, Like you say you might need to replace the shocks. If the new springs are of a stiffer type to the standard springs and your still running standard shocks then that might be the problem or the standard shocks are well past there best. On uneven roads the car will fill unsettled at speed because of the lowering and the reduced amount of suspension travel. Chips.
  19. Hi, Id say theres a faulty ABS sensor or a faulty connection to the sensor. Take it steady if it rains,i dont think the TRC works if the icon is flashing. Chips.
  20. Hi, If its a early version LS like mine was the door fixings are made of plastic or cast and it sounds like its cracked on the inside. Try doing a search on this forum for ls door hands etc, might be worth looking over on the USA forum. It is a common problem on the early LS model. Chips.
  21. Hi Harold, Sorry to hear of the gearbox problems. I was going to say to take the battery lead off so to reset everything,if the gearbox fault was not there before you switched the OD button off then it might be worth check for a faulty OD switch first before stripping the gearbox down what with the dealers labour costs. Good Luck with fixing it. Chips.
  22. Hi and Welcome to LOC :) Good Luck with the mods.
