  1. A faulty or missing exhaust gasket allowing fumes to be released under bonnet, which then made their way via bonnet vents to the cabin air vents. A combination of situations (cold night, parked car with engine running and a faulty/missing gasket) leading to a very sad event. It's perhaps a bit dramatic to say it's because he modified the car (bonnet vents and CAT delete) more that the exhaust wasn't correctly reassembled?
  2. The username you input to the car remains unchanged, only the portal login has changed to your email address. At least that's how I read it?
  3. From his comment in my other thread in this section, I doubt it ...
  4. Sounds like a cooling fan for the ICE but as said one shouldn't be able to hear it normally. Perhaps the fan bearing is on the way out, fan blade loose ... Perhaps a diagnosis wil show something, otherwise pull the ICE and see?
  5. I guess you haven't read this sub-section's header? Lexus Owners Club Lounge Follow 5 General Topics that are NOT Lexus or even car related. But thank you for your input

  7. Seems Superguard supply the Lexus branded screenwash concentrate. I could find nothing detailing the mix ratios recommended. http://www.supagardshop.co.uk/screen-wash-300ml/
  8. Pretty sure once the dash displays low fluid level it's one bottle to the reservoir and fill with water?
  9. AFAIK that simply signifies the connection isn't encrypted, not that the connection isn't 'safe'. Most web pages are unencrypted only those where one might input sensitive data, such as payment / shopping sites would use the SSL protocol, with a locked padlock symbol
  10. Have you tried logging off, clearing your cookies and restarting the browser? Then try logging back in.
  11. Only in a time machine John, it was last Saturday,,,,
  12. Never my intention to dictate what someone does or doesn't do to their own car. "Forewarned is forearmed "
  13. Insurance will always payout 3rd party claims, it's the policy holder's claim that may loose out. The insurer may then try and recover any monies from the policy holder.
  14. Very, if you are involved in an accident especially involving injury. Your insurance company may also take a dim view of any undeclared modifications, never mind the (technically) illegal ones... Interesting how one might inform the insurer you have invalidated the car's Construction and Use certificate and made it illegal to use on the road?
  15. My neighbour has just taken delivery of a new Type R. Sounds nice but my word, looks like it's been through the Halfords accessory bin..
  16. Enjoyed every minute of my 3.5hr drive home, through all the little villages one my scenic route back.
  17. One of the new functions is the ability to upload your settings from the Nav system, presumably so one can recover them should one need to replace or reset the unit?
  18. Thanks for a great afternoon, some really classy cars in attendance. Thought I'd throw in some colour to an otherwise quite monochrome line-up Good to put some faces to forum names, not sure how many I will be able to recall .... Roll on the warmer weather and more GTGs
  19. So, if the distance measurement is spot on in the OBC, one must conclude the way the fuel is measured is erroneous? If it's similar to how MB do theirs it will be the duration of injection x flowrate?
  20. Not to store wine but to keep ready for serving. We tend to get a wine delivery every 4-6 weeks, 36-48 bottles mixed red, white and sparkling. The wine rests for a week to recover from shipping then we enjoy! Serving at the correct temperature has always been a bit hit 'n miss and a chore, especially when imbibing more than the one bottle So, looking to purchase a temperature controlled, 2 zone cabinet, to hold approx 50 bots max. We have a location in mind, understair in our hallway. No direct sunlight and relatively cool. Does anyone have experience of these cabinets, a recommendation for a reliable, quiet model?
  21. Never had a problem TBH. The DAB in my Mercedes never dropped a station even in the wilds of Wiltshire. The DAB in the RC seems to be very stable also, been across the south, east to west no issues.
  22. The salt in washing up liquid can kill the washer nozzles as well, causing corrosion eventually blocking them completely..
  23. One of the worst things one can do is to use washer fluid/concentrate from different manufacturers. Often there is an incompatibility and a sludge forms causing various problems, most notably a nasty smell...
  24. But is it the OBC that's in error, or the manual brim to brim method?
