  1. Covers on and bonnet shut. I don't intend to open it except to refill the screen wash ...
  2. As there would be a cost involved in designing and supplying an engine cover, I'd bet there is a good reason for having it there. Certainly not just cosmetic. Your average driver doesn't lift the bonnet just to admire the engine. Noise reduction, heat retention, air flow control. ....
  3. Check to see if you need planning permission as new hard surface driveways increase rainwater run off and require drainage.
  4. Gone are the days when tyre width exceeded BHP. I was always advised never to have more grip than one could break with engine power.
  5. Curious as to why just the one panel is faded? Faded paint restoration usually requires removal of the oxidised layer, so a cutting compound followed by a polish and sealer is required. Back 'in the day' one would use T-Cut and Simoniz .. Now I would give the Meguiar's range a look.
  6. Just to link to the original request and supporting replies
  7. Thanks John. Perhaps we should move or at least repost in the Add a Suggestion section? http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/forum/17-add-a-suggestion/ One hopes the owner would monitor that section, if none other ...
  8. Just bumping these requests for sequential numbering of posts within a thread and the identification of the thread starter in their subsequent posts. Any update, please?
  9. Handbook advises a damp cloth moistened with 5% wool detergent in water. Wipe clean with another damp cloth and clean water. Automotive leather is coated so conditioners are pointless and can make the surface sticky and attract dirt and grit. A water based proprietary cleaner such as Dr. Leather wipes are a convenient, if slightly expensive, alternative. Also leaves a pleasant (subjective) aroma of new leather.
  10. 2nd the Gummi-Pflege, made for the job. Conditions the seals, stops squeaks and sticking/freezing..
  11. I'm certainly pleased I added the Protection pack to my RC. The mud flaps keep the car so much cleaner. The rear and sides of the car are protected from spray and debris thrown up by the tyres. Gets a thumbs-up from me!
  12. Again the handbook says as soon as TA is set On the unit starts searching for a station broadcasting TA
  13. Can't recall the last time I actually used front fog lamps.. The triple leds certainly illuminated the foggy country roads very well a couple of weeks back..
  14. See this thread, the link in my post but buy direct from the US Amazon site.. Approx £35 inc postage and taxes
  15. Ask your dealer for the ship name and you can track it's progress using this link my dealer sent me when I was waiting delivery of my RC. Mine came on the Hawaiian Highway (which is on it's way back to JP OMZ, arriving 16 Feb..). I knew the car was in Bristol docks before the dealer! https://www.vesselfinder.com/?imo=9712632 You could also ask for your VIN and get set up on The Lexus Customer Portal https://customerportal.lexus-europe.com/login/index.html
  16. It's always possible, get the suspension geometry checked, not just tracking but a full front/rear check.
  17. Have a look here, any look similar to yours? http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/is-250-years-2005-to-2017-wiper-blades/
  18. Just enjoy the car, drive it, clean it and in a year or so get it detailed and start again. There are far too many uncontrollables that will cause deterioration of the paint finish to get too hung up about it.
  19. Would it not be listed on a plate on the driver's door shut? Or in the owner's handbook?
  20. Obviously changed for the 2016 RC, as when I click/press the open button the boot opens fully. Needs a good pull/push to close and latch. That said unless the boot is motor driven open there must be some form of assistance, usually by springs?
  21. Not sure on the Lexus but on the Mercedes the boot has spring assistance, these springs can become weaker with age/use but can be adjusted by moving one end to a different mounting hole. Perhaps have a look to see if the same with your car?
