  1. Off to mid Wales now you know what that it's not about you driving your 'F' around enjoying yourself in what is one of the best value normally aspirated , reliable , fun cars availbe on the second hand market for not a lot of money cough...... cough....... ITS ABOUT NOT FORGETTING LOTS OF PICS ON HERE FOR US GOT IT 😂😂😂😂 And if you are not going on your own a little video clip as well and while I'm on the ask in Crickhowell there is a little off-licence that used to sell Anniversary tinnies of a certain drink you may have heard mentioned in these parts called Guinness 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Big Rat
  2. How right you are on both counts, being laid up for a week or so with shingles couple of weeks back felt the same as you Got up to the window face pressed up against glass looking down at it sat on the drive....... to anybody walking by I must of resembled a chicken poxed 5 year old with his face pressed up to the sweet shop window 😂 Big Rat
  3. Shame for you an opportunity I needed to grasp sunny Somerset 🌞! Big Rat
  4. Yes there are a lot of conversations on here about body colour I never get involved with it my self cough......cough Nowt wrong with black matey ! I guess what you've got now is a bit more refined of a refined drive but still pretty quick 🤣 Big Rat
  5. Thanx Lee not the normal sort of thing you post about I suppose, but probably like you it's good to get the worst over with first The rip out in the car was a genuine pick me up ! Is see you have a Gs450 H in your picture still got it ? By coincidence there was one in Train station car park when I was waiting for Mrs Rat, it looked good, it had a dark red interior black exterior is that standard colour for inside, we had this chat on a previous thread on the IS-F, but no one mentioned other models in the range . 6. So I started a refurb job today for a customer Kitchen-Bathroom-cloakroom stuff like that. The aspect that was always going to be the worst I decided to tackle first knowing that everything else would be a cake walk. The ground floor is suspended timber with very narrow voids which I had to crawl down to dig out and replace 2 lengths of damaged soil pipes and copper pipe up for the new sink /toilet supplies. So you are thinking its bad but not that bad, but the soil pipes had been leaking for some time 💩 Its bearable as inside the breathing kit I was wearing I sprayed some of Mrs Rats Channel no5, always wondered what it was for ! Bloody hard graft but 71/2 hours later all done and tested in one go yippee 😀 Mentally and physically k........ In the shower and out in the IS-F for a blast over the sunny mendip hills - it felt sooooooo goooooood 😂 Big Rat
  7. Yep @Chuckie478 is right expensive cars have on going costs that match there original purchase price, fact. If you can afford to buy, run one of these I think it's right to have the warranty for the peace of mind, there are those who say pay into your own monthly war chest for the unforeseen depends if you can be that disciplined. These things I feel can have the opportunity to bite you badly financially which can sour the ownership experience which is not what any of us want, the days are long gone when most of us can do our spannering with instances like @Flytvr has had. Big Rat
  8. Here what's that posh plate on that beautifully silvered coloured 'F' car ? Big Rat
  9. Yeah that's right @Flytvr stuffing his face with coffee and cake at our @Mark G and 🐀 Fav spot while we are working our fingers to the bone saving hard for the steering rack failure fund 😂 Well done matey thankfully the warranty gobbled it up 👍 Big Rat
  10. Does any one know the owner ? Is he on here ? Here he is again any one recognise him, nice bit of driving on the knock hill clip 👍
  11. Anyway I'm sure you and others will love this then, same colour as yours !
  12. I don't want her to like me I just want her to let me sit next to her in her Ct200 I've always wanted one I don't like IS-F's........... Oh this getting stupid nite all 🐀
  13. And she's single as well now so you know you gave me your number the other day............... Big Rat
  14. Have a quick Guinness before you go 😂😂😂🐀
  15. Yes I know I can't help it you know as I'm damaged when I was old enough to drink alcohol I was kidnapped by mates who tied me up blindfolded me and took me many miles to the huge building with wooden gates with piles of barrels outside with the word LAGER on it 😂😂😂😂 Ive never been the same since. Big Rat
  16. On one of the few trips I did to the Ring with friends I was n my 996 Gt3 they were in a Caterham and a S2 Exige. As much as anything else it was about power to weight ratio me down the straights them in the bends. Me having to work much harder ultimately it was a waste of time, best to give up before the red mist descends or someone's bag of talent runs out. Big Rat
  17. As much as anything else it comes down to cost, if it was me use what you have initially and see how you et on. As regards a wider tyre I'm not so sure because if you go wider on the rear without rolling the lip it may foul. Big Rat
  18. It's really good fun, in the right environment, if you are going to do some track days, then save some pennies for tyres 😁 Big Rat
  19. Now let's get one thing clear I have never said I have any preferences when comes to colour I've 'only owned ' about 45 cars the fact that 38 were silver has no bearing on it 😂 Lovely car I like Grey 😇 Big Rat
  20. Welcome to the fold Chris massive number of brownie points for newbies- count myself in that number to have piccies in the first post. Lovely looking car, speaking as a previous 530D/535D owner of years gone by. You will in the long term be better off in a Lexus 😏 Theres a few of us on here who meet at RAF Kemble AV8 cafe in Gloucester every couple of months all are welcome Big Rat
  21. Yes I agree all main dealers can be expensive, I have over 2 years warranty left on mine so want to keep the history going with them, I'll look at it again in the future. The fact remains you can negotiate with these people, I decided against a service pack as feel I can do better my last service car 38k so had the 40k service. All in and it's a fairly comprehensive one came to with negotiation a little over £400.00 that was with the VAT. I would not be prepared to pay £300.00 for an oil change if that is what it is if for example the car was high mileage and out of warranty. Big Rat
  22. When I bought mine they gave a 1litre top up to put in the boot, not that it has ever needed a drop in 9k. They used Castrol that's what was on the invoice for the service at the Lexus dealer then and when checking that's what had always been used. So being a creature of consistency I'll stick with that, it's a theme with me Guinness- silver cars - castrol 😝 Joking aside its a good price but last service Lexus matched what I was going to provide, and it came to just over £40.00.
