  1. ‘Lower Tax Band’ that’s a bonus, but I knew I was gonna buy my car when I went to view it because it had all the toys but the seller failed to mention it had ACC in the Ad!
  2. Yes you said! but have you just noticed this problem now or could it have happened when you did have the last frost???
  3. The windows not working from the drivers panel is a sign that the window system needs ‘re-learning’ this happens after a loss of power to the system ( ie battery removal) and it is a simple fix. check battery terminals are nice and snug and any Earth points you can see. Also I see you battery was fitted Sep 2018 so might be worth having that checked as it’s now over 2 1/2years old and DERV’s do give batteries a pounding especially if it’s not a top brand.
  4. Remove all engine covers, fill tank to brim ( being careful not to spill any!) and get amongst engine bay with a strong torch and listen/look for source of leak ( water shows up very well when brightly lit) as for not having frost for a ‘few months’ then this problem has only just come to light now then? I mean has it only started to leak now or have you only spotted it now! Lots of people haven’t been using their cars lately ( for some reason!) Fault finding has to be done in a logic sequence to be effective, discount nothing and suspect everything and eliminate each in turn to end at the source of your problem,
  5. Did it leak when the screen wash was not turned on? Because if it leaks with it off then the leak point is somewhere below the level of the fluid in thank but if it leaks when screen wash is activated then leak can be anywhere!
  6. Prob a pipe split ( possibly due to frost) or come adrift at some point, any work been done on car lately that may account for this?
  7. I use my ACC as much as I can but usually end up getting someone pull in between me and the vehicle in front and cause me ( the ACC actually!) to brake! Even on the shortest setting some people think they can fit their car and their braking distance into MY braking distance- unbelievable! I only Ever use it in ACC mode now as one time I was in manual mode and thought I was still in ACC! Don’t Ask!!!! VL-2 is the Grom unit to allow the latest infotainment to be had on OEM kit, ie Spotify, YouTube, IPlayer, Waze, infact almost any android App you could want! And S(M)/R is the Sun ( or Moon as Lexus refer to it)/Roof. bit of a rarity my car, I think there were only 47 with this kit registered in uk. 1st owner was a Barrister in London so no expense spared I guess!
  8. Definitely does happen, one is one too many! Source: https://one.nhtsa.gov/cars/problems/studies/NonTraffic-NonCrash/Images/noncrash.pdf
  9. The windows/roof have an obstruction prevent system that retracts upon meeting a resistance before the final fully closed position, it detects this obstruction by increased load ( amps ) on the motor but it has to know the final position before this can work otherwise the windows/roof won’t ever fully close and back off a bit when at the end position. When you do the relearn of the window/roof system it is this end position that you are embedding into the VM.
  10. It is a very desirable car ( like the others the scammer ‘has for sale’ ) and anyone in the market for one will think their luck is in and it (and all others also ) are well under the going rate. Also the seller is wanting Cash only and one of the pictures ( supposed to show the item in question) is in fact showing contact details to complete the sale ( as if these were in the body of the advert then EBay virtual police will detect this attempt to do a deal outside of EBay with the contact details) without doubt this seller has not actually got these items and has copied the pictures from previous legit postings, Also the description, of a single line! Is seriously lacking if you were trying to sell this or any of the other cars! and when any prospective seller is interested then some monies will undoubtedly be required upfront! If you can be arsed, I have in the past, ask this seller some specific questions about this car and see what response you get! Answers will be very short and non specific! All in all adds up to a deal to steer clear of!
  11. Just highlighted this scam to the adults at eBay so hopefully it/they won’t be up there much longer, watch this space and see how long it/they take to get removed!
  12. Disconnecting the battery will allow all electronic components with volatile memory to be ‘reset’, you will have to ‘re-learn’ the electric window system ( and moonroof if fitted) but the Factory audio system does Not require any codes to work and the engine ecu will ‘re-learn’ your driving style over time.
  13. Best of luck with informing them! I did when I bought my struts years ago!!
  14. A ‘17-‘’18 map disc can be got on eBay for less than £20 ( this was the last year of map updates made for this system) Disconnecting the cars battery for a few minutes can perform a reset and this may help resolve problem.
  15. Have you got DVD based system or SD card system? just looked at your profile and it states ‘Year of Lexus 2010’ so I’m guessing yours is gonna be SD based system and sadly this is Dealer only upgrade! I don’t know what is the latest map data available on SD system but on DVD system the last year of map updates was ‘17-‘18.
  16. Worth the money all day long if you ask me, you ain’t gonna spend much on maintenance in the future that’s for sure! (unlike a Merc or Porsche!)
  17. Thousand and one things it could be! Some more serious than others, That’s why you need to get hands on soon as! I recommend getting the wheels off and having a good inspection of all running gear.
  18. I would expect a bearing that was faulty to be continuously faulty, ie the noise won’t go away, yours sounds unlike any bearing failure I have known and I recommend a good inspection of the under side of your car and all it’s running gear ASAP for safety’s sake! Especially since you have only had car a week! Have a check on DVLA site at MOT history and see if any underside components have been mentioned previously either as a fail or advisory item.
  19. All the plastics arch linings secured ok are they? As speed they may be touching tyre and this may not be obvious when stopped!
  20. If the emblem you want is not the part designed for your car then you may have to take the plunge and be the first to ‘go for it’ and try, hopefully it doesn’t cost an obscene amount and turn out not to be viable, you could be the one providing the answer in the future. 🤞
  21. Wow....worlds gone mad....there’s another £10k plus 10+ years old 250 and not even a SE-L with all the toys! https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202103160210578?advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=SW1A1AA&model=IS 250&page=1&aggregatedTrim=F Sport&make=LEXUS&year-to=2021&include-delivery-option=on&sort=relevance
  22. Note: If you have got ACC ( Adaptive Cruise Control) on your 250c then the front emblem contains the forward facing microwave transmitter and you should not try and change it. ACC emblem is shown in top pic
