  1. You are not gonna be disappointed and you got the best colour combo IMO 😁
  2. Is the fuel filter the type that is in the tank ( connected to lift pump) or is it an external in-line canister type?
  3. Would be interesting if one could find out what part(s) exactly are not compatible with E10 that were put in the IS250 from Aug 2005-Sep 2007 but then not!
  4. My 250 was registered ( DVSA as it is now in UK) 21 Sep 2007, so I can safely say it was built ( in Japan!) Before September 2007, so Cannot (Should not!) take E10 according to the info in that link above ☹️ 💷💷💷💷💷💷💷🙄
  5. 100,000 miles / 120 Months page from IS250 schedule, and wouldn’t expect ISF to be million miles different!
  6. The 250 has an ‘inspection’ type flap that gives access to the filter, you don’t have to remove the whole underbody tray to get to it and oil drain plug is in plain sight!
  7. Here’s another Toyota/ Lexus ‘sealed for life’ gearbox fluid change but a lot easier on the eye to watch😉
  8. Here’s one vid on how to do a Lexus fluid service, the Important thing is the temp of the fluid at the time of checking, when it flows out of the ‘level straw’,
  9. Two things come to mind, the gearbox flushing may have dislodged some old contamination and this has caused a problem at some point in the system, or ( hopefully ) the fluid level is not sufficient, There is quite an involved process to determine the correct level.
  10. Excellent work and I feel for you having to go through it, like you said, if there was a ‘220D buyers guide’ then (perhaps) things would have been different for you and you would be driving round in a 250 a lot earlier without the bitter DERV experience. You would then probably have no reason ( apart from how to reset the windows!) to post any problems! But even with a 250 ( along with lots of other marques) you need to keep the callipers maintained, even though this is not specified in any service schedule.
  11. Battery disconnected for approx 20mins is enough to dissipate any residual current, this is the time recommended before working on the SRS components so will apply to other not so critical components.
  12. Please compare the plugs you get sent to the info in the ‘Fake Plug Info’ attachment very carefully before fitting them as the Listings on EBay state ‘ Images are generic and you will be sent correct plugs for your car’ well if that was not a warning to double check then I don’t know what is!
  13. You could try a temp repair of the hole in the exhaust and reset and see what happens, very cheap bit of 1st option fault finding if you know that the exhaust has a leak and this code can relate to this.
  14. The factory fitted plugs in my 250 were changed at the 6 year mark ( 2013) when the car had done 22,337 miles!, according to the schedule they should have been done again in 2019, but with only 42,000 miles on the clock then, I opted not to as the plugs had only done 20,000 miles! The car has less than 45,000 miles on it right now so I don’t even think they will be getting done in 2025! I will prob wait til they start to play up or when they have done 60,000, which will be at the 82,000 mile mark!!! Could be some time.....
  15. ‘Mazin’ finish, I’ve an argento ice 250 and it don’t look anything like that right now, sad to say, but all your hard work ( and it is hard work) had definitely paid dividends!👍
  16. So mods....can this be pinned to the top of this section for future prospective owners and therefore valuable potential forum members?
  17. I was looking for this recently for a poster and gave up! If we do find it, and it’s in here somewhere! Can ADMIN please post it as a Sticky/Pinned post at the top of the section page ( instead of the useless ‘car meet’ post that’s been there since the first lockdown and had minimal replies!!)
  18. I think, not sure, that they are the on-line selling site for Lexus Swindon. Check out this How-to and see if it is gonna be doable with your skills and tools before you get waist deep!
  19. Think the change interval according to the Lexus schedule is more to do with keeping the emissions to their absolute lowest, and a wearing ( but perfectly acceptable for the running of the engine ) plug may start to affect the emissions slightly if the gap say were to be bigger and therefore not produce such an intense spark for the combustion process. That’s my first train of thought on the change interval and I agree the 6 year time interval is really irrelevant but keeps things nice and neat in the service schedule!
  20. The fresh batteries might have made your fobs signal of better strength than that of the interference.
