  1. Anyone any more ideas? Hoping my maintenance diary will be clear soon, so want to have a stab at whatever this pump thingy is/may be. Thanks,
  2. Just in case it's overlooked, I've added the sound via video in post 11, any one recognise or know what it could be, nemesis and I are guessing lol
  3. Just saw your car much newer, so give them a try before wasting a post it as may be different lol
  4. Alarm won't sound unless you lock her in. Radio can be turned on by pressing power on button, but not having foot on brake. Shouldn't matter if you take key or not, but that said, I've not tried it. Or by pressing the volume on off button, just remembered that I turned it on that way before, saves having the power on on i guess.
  5. Thanks nemesis. Trying to look for some parts diagrams etc. So can see what's under there and hopefully pin it down to possible sources. Anyone know where I can find these, or what lives around that neck of the woods and can sound like pump (either normally or when failing)?
  6. That's what I thought when got head next to it today (had same sound and location of air manic compressor on former sclass merc, but, I don't think air suspension was even an option on the 450h and if it was, how the heck do I tell if I have it and why would it be constantly running (assume would mean a leak, which was partly the cause of my sclass demise!), would also question why slows down in Park, and speeds up in drive (but not moving)...
  7. Don't know about the new cars, but this can't be, as any rear white light except reverse and number plate lights is illegal. Fog or fogs must be red when on the back
  8. How about this? This is the slower noise, when in Park. Power is on, engine not running. Keep like this for as long as all the power is on, or at least 3/4 mins which is how long I waited. When press the start button to shut it off, it stops instantly. When driving under electric only, or when in Drive but still stationary, it gets quicker. When driving under ele power only and passing nearby reflective surfaces, it sounds far more clicky than pumpy.
  9. The attachment was taken via an iPhone, so needs their stuff to play. Will try and find another device to record a normal one (don't like apple for these stupid reasons).
  10. So, made a small video to capture this sound. Having pulled up, handbrake on and in Park, car still on though, I have this noise which sounds like a pump having got close to it. Any ideas what this is, or is this normal? IMG_0070.MOV
  11. Good to see it was a simple bulb that made the difference and not something more costly. Mine move a touch over serious bumps, think it's to absorb some of the shock and not be passed to bulbs as much, wife's x5 does it to.
  12. Not a clue. Assume it knows when in motion, but likely if those sensors cropped out, be other bigger issues, ie abs etc, so perhaps it's a different signal or just software.. will have to defer to more knowledgeable folks. I assume your power meter, speedo, the power lines on the energy pic etc all working ok, it's just the wheels not turning?
  13. Mine spin when in motion, but must admit I'm a bit miffed that the wheels are not same design as the 450h wheels (I assume all 450s had the same as not seen any different), would have been a nice attention to detail, for very little effort. Ditto on on the best and resets, I ditched my good average by resetting all, now need to ease off the gas and get a decent one back lol. Just spotted you need another car vasilis, then have one for each day of the week, result. I have room to park one (the wifes) my poor lexus gets stuck on the street most days
  14. So manual means can use gearing to control revs thus braking, good to know, thanks all.
  15. That's what I though, didn't know if you knew something different and was curious lol. Thanks olumite
  16. Funny, I don't know most of the bands and such mentioned.... except Coldplay lol.
  17. Really, why not? Thought it'd still have same effect, just less noticeable due to the ele helping etc? Not contesting Olumite, just wondering and wanting to understand the mech of it all
  18. Thanks tigerfish. I was hoping the old gal would through a code or two to help pin point turbo issues on the wife's x5, before I'm having to fork out a grand for a new turbo. Ie hoped a pressure sensor somewhere could lead me down a different path. I'll check these out, currently looking how to build a smoke tester, as they very expensive for what they are in my opinion! Just looked, and that first one is same as I have, but 2015 version. Was fine for about a year, then started coming up saying it's a restricted version and I have to call foreign number or email dodgy looking email address. I didn't bother! Thanks
  19. Cheers tigerfish. Got a Bluetooth one today to try the torque app, still no codes, new old or pending, so either my reader is fine and there are no codes, or both are junk lol
  20. Give us a clue as to which units they are tiger fish? I'm keen to have one that has descriptions, rather than a lookup book. Also, if these sub 30 quids can do this, what's the difference between those and units in the hundreds, like the drapers and innova or whateverwhatever are seems very popular on Web article? I only quote the draper as have to in local Machine mart.
  21. Madasahatter, not sure what you mean by needing light on or off, but guess I mean off, ie I can plug it in and read codes, even if no warning lights on? Not overly concerned about airbags and the like, but to read and clear codes across different brands of car is the main bit, other stuff a bonus
  22. Will do, but not overly handy to keep in boot, especially as the boots so small lol, plus I'd not have software for all makes, hence looking for none vehicle specific handheld as a quick and dirty tool for on the fly.
  23. Are any handheld readers able to cover different car makes? Ie laser 5091 type things?Want a fairly decent (better than the 30 quid ebay lump of junk that hasn't found anything on anything other than a 98 slk lol) one that doesn't break bank. Not after a Bluetooth carly type, or laptop job, just a handheld that can cover the bmw e53 x5 and my lexus, plus future motors.Any recommendations or suggestions?
