  1. So, after 4/5 months of waiting, finally had the reason for decline: This warranty, as distinct from the 3 year manufacturers warranty which covers mechanical failure and paint defects, only covers corrosion caused as a result of perforation to the original body panels caused by contamination or poor preparation at the factory. We have seen no evidence to demonstrate that this is the cause in this instance. no apologies for the various visits, me having to chase via phone and email numerous times, and whatnot. so, it'll be soon time to say good bye for good to Lexus, as not willing to have a car with exceptionally poor dealer support. Shame, as the car is brilliant, but looks like I'll be returning to Merc. unbelievable
  2. Mine pulse a bit, but haven't checked discs etc as doesn't bother me, hardly use them no the gs450h. Good to know mind as was considering a change to the RX as need a boot, so good to know they similar builds.
  3. Your details say your in Newport Alex, is fuel in Wales that bad? Seriously though, have you serviced her of late? Air filter, plugs and oil service, check of the crank breathers etc. as sound like it's due to me.
  4. I've had manly cars and they have seen 100k, 200k plus miles without the slightest issue. Albeit not di engines, there surely can't be that much difference to melt di but be fine for many trips round the globe for others? Surely the key is a good closed loop system (only ever had prins myself, plus one other I can't recall) and good servicing, albeit lpg offers less top end lubrication than petrol and can cause value issues, so perhaps this is what causes issues with di engines? I'm not clued up enough to comment really thinking it through, so just ignore me!
  5. Thanks James, and looking good to
  6. Who did you use James? I'm in Norwich and need to get my wheels sorted at some point, very flaky at the moment
  7. 're the tpms, you can pick up a set far cheaper (ebay etc) and get them fitted to second wheels. You'll need techstream to register them to the car, but only the once, as there are settings for two sets of wheels/tyres/tpms, a set and b set, ie you programme the winters to the one your not using already and when swap wheels, just press the button under glove box to change wheel sets and it then looks for the winter wheel sensors. Just remember to note the serial numbers of the tpms units before you have them put in winter wheels. Clock is 12h only for some bizarre reason, and many of us have seen that having it on auto update gives duff time when having left car for a while, but within a min or two it updates correctly. Not using auto adjust seems to not loose time when parked and off?
  8. Anyone know how to get artist and album to display via the factory iPod connector? Currently I have disk 1, tracks 1 through to 99, that then just starts a new track1 through to 99 and goes and goes round and round 99 tracks at a time. The only tag I get is the track name, and these are in alphabetical order, I.e a,a,a,a,b,b,b etc. Can play on random of course, but i want to be able to choose an album or an artist, and cant. Cant even see the details for the song that is on. Anyone any ideas?
  9. To jump up and return to normal so fast sounds like sensor or gague issue to me, or stat as John says. No way the volume of fluid can gain that much heat and more so lose it again and be back to normal within a few seconds, that's a lot of energy and dispersing that with the rad can't be done so quickly. Especially when it's already 40deg outside - perhaps in the south pole lol.
  10. Thanks John. Didn't realise techstream could do it, so that's a result. I'll have to get a load of dot 3 (never had anything that's not dot 4 before lol) and give it a try. Fingers crossed it works! Cheers for the help.
  11. Many thanks John, that's interesting. May well get Lexus to do full flush, as I don't have the tool thingy, if Lexus can ever come up with a bit of customer service and answer my questions they have had for ages now (still not been able to explain why they declined my bonnet warranty and had several weeks to make something up - so far worst service I've had anywhere, so not very happy with them presently)
  12. Hmm, so it's been since Sunday where I cleared my tpms warning, and it's still not returned. Either this is a real lazy system (checks once a week) or I've done something? Good news though, the flash is gone so driving much more comfortably now I've not got the warnings constantly lol
  13. Still waiting on their reason for decline. Says a lot when they can't even tell you what they have declined. Will wait a week more, then complain to Lexus. Considering I have several issues, including the very expensive abs pump, you'd think they'd want to impress for the trade, but alas, appears they do not care one ounce.
  14. How often is the car supposed to read the tpms signals? I reset error codes yesterday, and having driven 20 mins to work and 30 mins home with a stop off, the warnings not come back. It was great to not have the flashing warnings and be able to actually use dash display for more than a moment, but thought the errors would have returned fairly quickly... have I killed them or something?
  15. I was interested richard, but given I have the abs pump issue on the gs and the wife's x5 is baffling everyone and refusing to be fixed, costing me a fortune and driving me nuts, cant be looking at upgrades at the mo lol, even though I'd like to.
  16. Wouldn't have thought you need to disconnect battery to change Sat nav disc, as it'll need power to eject and suck in and yes, it's in the rear, left side in boot. I thought hybrid mode was just the normal mode, as the other options on that switch are snow, or power? Personally, I quite like the sport mode, love the sharper throtal and really does make such a difference, but choose to leave in normal for the softer suspension, and offset it with the power button, so sharper response but retains softer suspension, best of both worlds.
  17. Sorted techstream and just scanned now and error is c1256 accumulator low pressure. I accidentally posted in a tpms thread, but have been advised to run a brake bleed using techstream. If anyone else has any input, please feel free. For others searching the source of sounds like mine, check your abs. Do it sooner to, as the units widely expensive!
  18. Had a thought regarding which wheel sensor is which, if I let one down and rescan, it should then show as a lower value in the red numbers in the top left of last picture? Be a pain, but if go round all 4, 1 at a time, should be able to tell which is which eh? Also, does it say n/a as the setting as they aren't initialized as missing a sensor reading? Once sensor replaced and codes in, I assume I'll be able to initalise and will then have the target pressure show where it currently says n/a?
  19. Lovely, thanks, will have a look. Any ideas how much brake fluid it'll require, don't want to run out half way lol. Just realised I've posted the brake issue in tpms thread, oups, sorry folks, so back on thread: My tpms errors are, with underlying data (I think?): On another screen, it had 5 sensors, 3 showed pressure readings, 2 didnt. How can I tell which are the duff ones, as 3 appear to be working correctly judging by that other screen I stumbled on (didnt take pic, thought I had. Edit now Found it, so attached).
  20. Cheers John, I'll Google, but do you how to do bleed process as you mention, or of a guide anywhere? Just scanned now and error is c1256 accumulator low pressure. Thanks
  21. Both were right folks, thanks. Also wasn't configured correctly, but had a faff around and seemed to get it working (had to bail as laptop battery is knackered and was about to crap out). All modules came up yellow (no connection or something), but when entered into individually, did get them turning white. Charging laptop now and will do full health check. Did have a quick look in abs module, and there was a low pressure error, so likely that's what's causing my pump to run constant, great! Will post back when fully scanned, in here for the tps and the other tickjng thread for the abs. Thanks
