  1. Whilst it may sound silly my reason for asking is affirmation, and also to save wasting time by finding out if anybody else has encountered the same problem. You’re right it does look like the problem is on the wiring side, the relays all appear good and the contacts on the relays are nice and clean. Next job is to try and establish which or how many wires are causing the problem and replace/repair where necessary Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yep my 2014 has just started to do this. In its defence it has done 175,000 miles and I guarantee that this has happened due to the oils from my skin affecting the material as that’s where I rest my arm and always have t-shirts or short sleeved shirts on. It’s not leather it’s a vinyl material Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I think it was diagnosed as the amp had died Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. Over the last few days my wipers have been failing to work on an intermittent basis. If the car goes over a bump then they come back on, once they are moving they only stop when you switch them off. When you go to switch them back on again and sometimes they work and many times they don't......until you hit a bump/catseye/pothole. So pulled the scuttle panel ff today and did some digging, have a look at the video, when you flex the wiring the motor almost stalls. When Im doing this I am not moving the motor or linkage, there's no obstructions at all. Ive checked the multiplug and can't see any corrosion, all the wires look to be in good condition. What would cause this to happen? When the wipers fail to work if I move the wiring at that point they spring back into life, my only conclusion would be the wiring is breaking down. any other opinions? IMG_2250.MOV
  6. Issues around that are are brakes, rear calipers seize up, overhaul kits aren’t that dear. Stone chipped front bumpers , the 300 is a bit bluff fronted and high milers for look a little pebble dashed I would be looking at doing a gearbox oil change as well, Lexus/Toyota tell you the gearbox is sealed for life, I tend to do an oil change on the gearbox every 60k 120k service will be a set of plugs as well, they’re dear, you see a lot of these cars being punted out at either 60 or 120k as I believe the service from Lexus is about £5-600. Aside from that general wear and tear, mine has 175,000 on it, the leather is still good and the bodywork look great. Take it for a drive and see what it’s like, there should be no squeaks or rattles and everything should work, if it has full history that’s backed up but a load of receipts then great, if not I would be sceptical, anyone can get a stamp made up these days and stamp a service history book Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I used techstream, took me about 10 mins to do as well as doing a couple of other little things that make my car more how I want it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Turning it off, the wiring has gone funny and it triggers itself randomly. Techstream allows me to switch the alarm off fortunately until I can get a new one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. I would be inclined to visit your dealer when possible and have them look at it for you. They would be able to advise of any TSBs as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I suppose i look at the fact that I get through 8 tyres a year, so it all adds up. And as I said if comfort/noise and grip and economy are the same grading then it’s all down to ££ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Whist dealing with a pain in the backside seat belt alarm today I decided to have a look at the battery pack voltages. This snapshot was taken when there 3 bars showing on the battery display, am I right in think that the closeness in voltages across the battery packs would indicate a healthy HV battery? 16. Rear pads wear much much slower than fronts. I would check the rears but even it they were at 4-6 mm I wouldn’t replace yet. I used to run continental tyres on my SE, I would get close to 30k out of a set at a cost of about £300 for all 4, about 18 months ago my tyre centre struggled to get my contis and recommended falkens instead, with the guarantee that if I wasn’t happy with them they would swap me back to continentals no questions asked. I never went back to them, last as long as the contis, as quiet and give just as good economy, and £20 per tyre cheaper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. Yes the brace would come out, I’m guessing it’s there as a bulkhead to stop things hitting the back of the seats, I believe the split rear seats have a steel reinforcement running along the back of the seats themselves. There are no U-shaped brackets on the body and looking at the pictures that I have seen online there doesn’t appear to be anywhere that is pre-drilled. To be honest the split rearseat wasn’t something that I was really interested in, it was just I wanted a set of matching front and back seats. What I may do is end up having my current seats re-trimmed once I retire the car as a taxi and start using it personally Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  25. So having removed the rear seat back it seems that I’m going to be looking at getting a trimmer involved. The other problem with that is the centre arm rear, the solid seats don’t have it and the split seats do, I have a feeling my plan is unravelling quite quickly Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
