  1. They should be fundamentally the same, there may be small differences in ecu tuning for fuel quality, altitude and emissions standards but none of that would mean changes in internals Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. To my knowledge leather could be on any car at any spec. However some came with it as standard and for some it was a cost option of about £1200. The seats and material would be the same irrespective. The SE was the base model, that came with half leather seats with non electric adjustment but could be specced with leather. Luxury has leather as an option You then had Premier and Advanced, I believe these had leather as standard And also the F sport, but those seats were different from standard seats. 3. Given that it has a conventional auto box rather than a cvt box I would have said that it could be played about with. Due to the small numbers that were sold in the uk I would have said You may have to do some digging to find a company who can remap your 200t Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. My 530d has 85k on the clock and has just needed a diff rebuild!!!! So much for German build quality Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I don’t agree with what he has said, However he’s made his mind up and there’s nothing that will change it. If he were on here asking the same questions then my advice would be the same as many on PH, loose the 1k and walk away from it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I’ve just seen the car you are looking at on autotrader. It has premium nav installed (mouse controller) and pretty much full dealer history, the only thing I could see by the pictures is the rear discs look a little ragged, but I bet they are original and a few quid would have that sorted Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The best advice I can give is get the best you can for your money. Saying that mine is sat at 165,000 miles and you would never know. I do about 40k a year and so will be at 200k before long, in the 2 1/2 year I have had mine I have had no major issues. Mine is serviced every 12,000 miles and most of the time there are no added extras. SE spec has the 16” wheels which I think give a more comfortable ride and also cheaper tyres £50-£70 per corner for quality tyres, the other bonus is zero road tax. The only things I have done outside of servicing is gearbox oil changes every 60k, normally when I do the diff oil as well, I clean out the egr cooler every 50k and replace the antifreeze at 100k. On a run I can still get 55mpg (real world) and around town it’s early 40’s. The car is supremely comfortable, quiet and most of my passengers love travelling in it 8k is a bargain, look for service history, make sure the car is physically straight and looked after. Little things like matching quality tyres will always be a good indicator. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Speed camera warnings [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. It’s the water pump drive belt. It’s a special belt In so far as it’s Lexus only, you can’t seem to find them aftermarket and it’s narrower that a “normal” serpentine belt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. With great difficulty, I was lying on the engine with my arms wrapped around the pipe work so as I could get a 12mm deep reach socket on a long extension bar on it. Once I had broken the joint t was then a spanner and literally undo it a flat at at time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. It’s the rears more than the fronts, however to check all I have ever done is whipped the wheel off, slackened the 2 13mm bolts that hold the caliper to the main body. And removed the bottom one, this allows you to swing the caliper up and then gently move it away and towards you so as to check the pins are moving freely. It’s easier to show you rather than describe it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. What mileage does you car have? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. At the very least I would expect the wheels to be refurb’d and cost to be met by the dealer. Scratches and dinks are disappointing and as has been said the very least they could do is supply a genuine touch up. I would ping the dealer principle an email with your complaint, also add that another dealer has commented that they would have dealt with the wheels before collecting. If that doesn’t work then I would be talking direct to Lexus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Best place is Lexus themselves, it’s one of the few places that stocks it. Paint code will be on the chassis plate, on the left hand side B pillar, the code will be the bottom line if I remember Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I have this one https://www.valetingproducts.co.uk/product/fog-it3 I have done all the cars in my family and a few of the neighbours as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. About 3 weeks ago I bought a fogger. It runs in the car for 5 mins, leave the ac on and on recirc. After 5 mins switch the machine off, leave the ac on for another 20 mins and allow the air to circulate. After 20 mins open the doors and let the remaining smoke out, the ac ducts should now be cleaned/disinfected I’ve noticed the ac smell has disappeared and also the general smell in the car is a lot cleaner Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I’m guessing here but I would be looking for the wiper relay and testing that. The low beam is a hid bulb, like other bulbs they normally work or don’t. So to cut out after a while again points to something like the ballast pack. The only advice I have ever received about these is, handle with care, these things carry some serious voltage. The fog light, I would start with the bulb, from there the fuses Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Ive known for a while that that the front crank oil seal needs replacing, up until now it has been a small weep but now it has got to be a lot more than that. I have searched but can't find any info on torque settings for the crank pulley bolts? Im hoping to be able to do this without removing things like the radiator if possible, there's a bit of room in there, has anyone done one of these in the past? TIA
  19. I’ve used that stuff for years on all my leather products in the car. I don’t use their leather cleaner though, I use Saddlesoap as I find it’s better at lifting the dirt and preparing the leather for conditioning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I have read other comments about the seat bolster is on the I S 300 wearing quickly, that said mine is in good condition still despite my high mileage. If a Lexus dealer is going to get a professional in to repair it there is a very good likelihood that it will be done to an incredibly high standard, Smart repairers can work a multitude of miracles. Worst case scenario if you are not happy with the repair on the seat you can walk away from the deal, I appreciate that’s a massive letdown after building yourself up and looking forward to the new experience of Lexus ownership but, ultimately if you’re not happy with the vehicle then You may need to walk away from it. 21. What dash cam are you using? Nextbase do a hardwire kit, it taps directly into the fuse box and still allows you to keep the normal fire in that location, I can’t remember how much they were but it’s really useful Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Mines the same, I generally subtract 10% from the displayed figures, when I do a pump to pump calculation I find that to be pretty spot on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Given your commute I would be looking at early 50s if you are about to maintain a steady speed on the motorways Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Around town 42-50mpg, the lower figure being winter time. On a run 50-57mpg again winter being the lower figure. When I first got the car I could see 60mpg on a long run, as time and mileage have gone on that’s dropped a bit. If I lash it I can get down the early 30s mpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. mine is a 2013/14 SE spec, i bought it when it was 4 years old, one previous owner and having covered 59,000 miles. 2 1/2 years later and the mileage is 158,000 miles. Its serviced when it asks for it and if anything looks like failing then its replaced. I still get the same MPG as i did when i first got the car, my feeling is the battery isn't quite as strong as it used but it still goes really well. The engines uses no oil between services and ive had no major mechanical issues. The only things i have done over and above the normal service schedule is a gearbox oil change at 100,000 miles and the egr cooler was cleaned out and refitted at 130,000 miles. Ive had one brake caliper carrier strip its thread (£80) and both rear calipers were overhauled at 130,000 ish miles (common toyota/lexus issue of sticky calipers) aside from that it has been total reliability, i use it as a taxi and all my customers love travelling in it, there are many comments on how nice it rides and how quiet it is, even now at close to 160,000 miles. What do i replace it with? i dont know. Ive had issues with the Lexus dealers, but thats more because im using it as a commercial vehicle and they re not keen on that. Would i recommend one, absolutely, My wife has a 5 series BMW and I honestly prefer the Lexus to the BMW, Nicer materials in the cabin, better fit and finish, far better driving experience and service parts are cheaper as well. Oh and my Lexus paintwork is looking better than my wifes 90,000 mile BMW as well, mine looks like its only done half the mileage it has actually done
