  1. Yes, will try again – but it went through the routine and then dumped a cannot delete message (and I have tried the door shimmy to no avail) Will order and report back. Thanks for help chaps
  2. So that could be it – my two non-remote working cut keys have 314.4Mhz remote guts. I can't seem to find 433 Mhz ones?!
  3. Sort of having the same problem So I have 3 keys – a master that I re-batteried and now works. Two re-cut keys from EBAY with remote guts. Dropped in chipped 4d68 transponders – so they now also start the car. Remote FOB remains a problem – tried to get TIS to wipe the existing remotes (maximum 4 or is 5 are programmed in) from the system but it refused to clear them so I could reprogram in the new ones. I will double check the UK frequency requirements.

  5. 2005 RX400H / 122K Miles Having a bit of a mind block getting ready to replace fluids (and 4 x filler/drain gaskets pt/no 90430-18008) Front differential 4 litres of Toyota ATF WS (what/how much lubricates the CVT?) Rear differential 4 litres of Toyota ATF WS Can anyone confirm if this is right? I have looked at too many things and confused myself.
  6. Anything on/in the AC fan, which invariably runs while AC on.
  7. 2 x £6 to get my 2 x ebay £15 keys (with buttons and battery guts) cut (local key cutter). = £42 so far. Had to file one down a tad. But they do wear in. £20 to put in copied chips (Timpsons) so 2 imposters and original master all start car. = £62 so far Only thing I can't seem to do is reprogram the 2 imposter key fob buttons. TIS tells me the ECU states the wireless is maxed out (4 keys loaded). And I cannot seem to delete and clear them in TIS to then be able to reprogram the 2 new imposters. Grrr
  8. Hybrid battery monitor goes green when it hits 80% safety max. Yes, I had my cat cut out. Straight piped it and just hope the VOSA what shall we do now committee idiots don't enforce a hybrid emissions test. My 2005 RX 122000 miles is pretty reliable and hassle free. Replaced the rad after usual plastic neck explosion. Sealed the car after dodgy seams turned it into an indoor swimming pool – POAA6ed the hybrid battery. That was some drying out. Value...about £2K tops. Paid 4
  9. Get a reliable Techstream here. Bit of a shenanigans but you get a stable platform. You should be able to read the exact problems from the ECU. Note: Herbie is right re conscience. But you can at least get Windows XP (we don't cry for Microsoft). You've got to read the ECU somehow before going down replace route. Get all your fuses triple checked. Make sure you don't have any water ingress – a real gremlin with the 400s. And Hybrid battery filters must be kept clean.
  10. Job done. 2 keys cut £6 each. £25 for 2 x transponder flashes. Now have to work out how to get 2 x remotes working. Techstream tells me max 4 keys are programmed (all missing) ergo no room for more remotes. With only one key working as a remote it's a head-scratcher how to delete all remotes and then reset. You need two remotes to delete them all and start afresh. Ugh. Sure I'm missing something.
  11. Mark, yes, I finally worked it out. Flash the chip. Thank you. Andy
  12. I find the Club Lexus helpful. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-2nd-gen-2004-2009/886513-c1241-error-code-06-rx400h-and-tire-indicator.html Not sure how the fuel quality/tank cap/oil level checks connect to C1241 Good luck. I use a FOXSUR battery charger (£12 ebay) to ensure that my RX400H aux battery is in tip top condition as I tend to do a lot of short runs.
  13. Yes, it's a great link for TIS as he gives all the free software URLs Code : C1241 Make : LEXUS Description : C1241 LEXUS Low Battery Positive Voltage Possible causes : – Low Battery Charge – Faulty Battery – Faulty Charging System – Power source circuit Have you unhitched your auxiliary neg pole (make sure your aux battery is absolutely fully charged) – then reattach to clear all codes? Google C1241 – there's a ton of stuff. Air conditioner one is a separate concurrent issue of less importance.
  14. Had same experience. Herbie is almost certainly right. Drain and refill, engine running (with heater, lights, the works on). Use a filling chamber on neck of filler to make sure every last air lock is removed.
  15. Techstream for more detail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyBwz3GT2g8 Make sure your auxiliary battery is in good health – that's a general rule. The heater trigger may just be a coincidence. Were there known errors before heating corollary that were lying in wait anyway? You do need a proper P code to identify the exact nature of the problem
  16. Keys and programming. I know it is such PITA subject. My 2005 RX400H I suspect has a chequered history. I bought it in 2018 – it was a Northern Ireland import – which means there is a gap in its archive. It came with one master key – chip and remote both work. I got two more ebay chip/remote keys cut. They fit the ignition, turn, light dashboard but no "READY". Using Techstream (this guy gives the full load up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyBwz3GT2g8 ) I got 3 historical (not current) Immobiliser codes B2793,4,and 5. Clearly there was a key issue in the past. TIS 'immobilizer' 'add new transponder' option, not 'key' oddly enough (the other was the 'erase transponder') simply never worked...120 seconds master in out, new key in 20 seconds yadda yadda. Always a Key to ECU communication error. Just wondering if anyone knows a reliable, reasonably priced key coder in the Tonbridge/Tunbridge Wells area (not the dealership) that might be able to force the issue.
  17. Know this one all too well (pun intended). I used LSX to seal all the rear seams, hinge plates and bolts, light areas. It has worked. But I got the dreaded P0AA6 followed by a specific 3-digit identifier code. It was a swimming pool. Removed all the rear to bare metal chassis and drained water – clear out the rubber bungs. And I also put in a couple of silicate dehumidifiers (which filled up fast). And I put in a heater for a couple of hours (Econ 7, mind) After dry out I unhitched battery neg pole and reset so I could drive the car. I drove it full heat for an hour and the warning stayed off. No problems since then. Touch (dry) wood
  18. Yes, in my RX400H. I suspect that I need a new water pump as the tell tale signs of pink spray can just about be seen behind the shroud.
  19. Yes, I joined the gang last month. Welded in a straight pipe in for the moment. Was told it was the resonator they took as 2 CVs are on each 3 cylinder bank. Ugh. What can you do?
  20. I had something similar. It was a large stone trapped in the guard, which was already partly disintegrated by rust. I'd guess it is likely to be a more complex issue
  21. Finally sorted my XP icense out. You get a license at the activation window that you give to a Microsoft perosn. Well now you just put that into an app and then get a genuine key back. Free. Techstream reported a P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold. I cleared it and MIL is now off.
