  1. Do you have any pics of the set up? I have a 2005 RX400H and the bluetooth no longer hooks up with my iPhone 12. It worked with earlier models. I assume the bluetooth is incompatibly out of date.
  2. Yes, same here. I have often been driving through fields, swamp, marsh where my RX400H satnav has not updated new developments (in the UK we have a penchant for building on river plains).
  3. Lever vacuum sucker holder – absolutely nailed it for me. £5-10 ebay. Something like https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362664368045?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=cb5RWZ7cQka&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=wTP9P3Y3SXW&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY worked well for me
  4. Probably need try TIS Immobilser Key reset. Bit of a faff. I can't recall the detail. You need Techstream with 'Utility' option. 'Immobiliser' or 'Key' option is, I think, gives you the chance to clear all fobs (except the one necessarily in the ignition) and re 'signal' them to the immobiliser ECU. Something along those lines.
  5. Everyone's insurance has shot up this year. Not just security risk vehicles ie the new RXs (this is truly shocking...and would scotch any plans I have to purchase). Though 700 to 2800...300% increase is simply criminal...but the fault of Lexus which appears to have it's head buried in the sand. Even my old 2005 RX400 has shot up nearly 50%. And no one wants to steal that (though they did want my CC). Hmm, It must have been that I reported the incident looking for advice but made no claim – an error on my part – you still get punished. You have to think very carefully before contacting your insurer.
  6. Easy fix...for the same reason my cat was stolen...you can just slide under and replace the £35 (Ebay) AFS unit rear left wheel unit area
  7. Well done – thought for a moment those were 2 different RXs with the light play – great condition by the looks of it. Great motor. Quite easy to maintain. A few watch points such as seam/hinge/light leak areas. Check underside rust. Techstream is a must for the occasional dash lights. Practical and rugged – and can goes like **** off a shovel. I've recorded a 7.1 second 62 mph standstill acceleration. Make sure you know when the belt was changed...90-120K miles This Radiant Crossover was once the biggest selling lexus. It stormed the US. Very nice – and you'll find plenty of very smart owners on this forum
  8. And in mine the added host of insect noises from the worn out HVAC gate makes me feel like I am in the Amazon jungle
  9. Keep us posted on smoothness of the operation and final price – this is a useful one to know. And any other sharp intakes of air and head scratching by the garagista. Good luck.
  10. Agree – when I travelled in 2018 on premium II was getting 34 mpg and creeping upwards until my radiator blew up 😤
  11. Holy cow! that is some pavement mounting. Jeez. I've heard about scuffing the wheels...but that.. and on a lovely new 450 ugh
  12. And an added measure – waterproof the rear seams and trunk joints. I used LS-X a translucent plumbing mastic. And it has worked. Just make sure your battery is DRY. I took all the rear trunk flooring out and discovered a small swimming pool that had breached the isolation – causing the batter management unit to throw up in my case a red Hybrid warning. Had been trickling in around the rear light and hinges....check the roof rack rear runners and caps too. I put in a few of those silicate dehumidifier things in the wee storage areas to help keep the moisture down. They are a great drive. I just came back from 1000 Km French drive – not a missed a beat. 120 kmh for 100s of KMs. Hope I haven't put the mockers on saying that. Good luck
  13. Ooh how much for the parcel shelf? I am largely broke hence driving a 2005 RX400H
  14. Keep those air inlets under back seats clean. They can gather tons of fluff. Easy to clean – unscrew out, vacuum and wash
  15. Car Care Nut on YouTube says Lexus prone to underside rusting. In my case it as true – pretty horrible (ex Northern Ireland coastal parking). Got under with wire brush fearful I'd brush the thing out of existence. Yes, used to have a problem with the battery as you say. I regularly trickle charge mine. Ha yes I LS-Xed all my seams and joints – because I did get the PA066 warning and discovered my hybrid battery was taking swimming lessons.
  16. Thanks Spotted Laurel – I'll check the Lexus Roadside assistance – The AA said we'll tow you as far as the value of your car – £1,500 😞 (possible cost £4,500) Just has a 1000Kms smooth French motorways ride. Rock solid. Long trip prep always clean hybrid battery air inlet filters, new oil and filters, double check rubber hose connections/clamps. And cruise at 120Kms – I find cruise control returns the best MPG (need it in France where fuel is more expensive)
  17. Nice work. I'm an 05, so a bit older at18 yrs. Rust is a problem as an ex seaside Lexus - cleaned and hammerited a lot of underside. I fitted new radiator, AFS, 4 x rotors and pads – find it a very tidy ride. Never push it until engine temp to mid range. Tried to get tow home cover while driving in europe (RAC/AA etc) but car now over 15 years so unrecoverable....apparently.
  18. Exactly right. Same with me on bioeth E10. Currently on 28.6 mpg om long French roads at about 65 mph
  19. Thanks – yes applied 2 weeks ago (my car has miraculously become a EURO 5 (2014....not EURO 4 2006). And the French, bless them, are posting the sticker today....the day before we leave. 🙂
  20. The ULEZ thread has got me thinking about a problem I have. And that because I am driving through Rouen, its town hall has seen fit to apply a huge ULEZ zone for which you must get a CRIT sticker. I bought my car in 2018. It appears to have been registered first in England (DVLA) in 2014. It is an RX400H MP55GFU. From DVLA Vehicle Details Vehicle make LEXUS Date of first registration June 2014 Year of manufacture 2006 I cannot find anything about it's life in NI – apparently NI did not have digitised records for a long period.
  21. Your vehicle MP55GFU Silver LEXUS Country of registration United Kingdom Change vehicle Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) This vehicle meets the ULEZ emissions standards You do not need to pay a daily ULEZ charge to drive in the zone, and are helping to improve air quality across London. However, if you see the Congestion Charge displayed below, you will need to pay that daily charge to drive in central London. Congestion Charge £15.00 to £17.50 a day Where it operates: Central London only - check a postcode or location Charging times: 07:00-18:00 Mon-Fri 12:00-18:00 Sat-Sun and bank holidays No charge between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day bank holiday (inclusive)
