  1. Midas was the guy on dragons den yesterday, he is trying to franchise and got the money he was looking for from one of the dragons
  2. have you been watching dragons den? there was a guy on yesterday who does this sort of thing he mentined that he did it for lexus dealers, looks a bit naff in my opinion
  3. a lot of these dent removal and paint chip repairs do them also halfords do it as well but charge a bit more, the last time i paid £40 for a scuff removal
  4. totally agree with last post, i have been on the porsche and bmw owners clubs as im thinking of changing my is 220d as im one of the people who think the 220d isnt the best car lexus have ever made and would have been better sticking to what they do best.
  5. welcome andy,go for a three day test drive in each car that you have an interest in,zero the trip on each model and check out the practical things that are important to you.but disregard the posters on this site that do not own a lexus as their opinion is totally irrelevant. thats a bit below the belt, why is the opinion irrelevant? i think we all no who you are commenting on? why does that person no longer own a lexus and isnt this a public forum and not a fan club or have the rules changed.
  6. i have just got the wife a 57 plate fiesta style climate, and to be honest they are pretty good little cars, we even choose to use hers on a trip out to the coast over the lexus,
  7. i think that next year there is a face lift IS ? which no doubt will have an effect on used car values at the moment its a good time to buy, i have a mate who works for a small ford dealership who hasnt sold a car in 3 weeks, every day each car on the pitch losses them £75 this is made up of wages, running costs ect, i have just bought the wife a 57 plate ford fiesta climate 6500 miles for £5600 which by all accounts was a bargain? im in the same boat as you im looking at the bmw Z4 seen one on e-bay on one of those car supermarkets for 15k 07 plate 10,000 miles
  8. hi, firstly i would stay away from the deisel i have one and am getting 29/30 mpg after all the re-maps and recalls, i had a is 250 for a few weeks which averaged 28/29mpg and it was an auto. if i could choose again it would be the is 250 auto also the rear seats dont fold at all.
  9. i had to fill up before the 10k and 20k service, iam supposed to take the car in every 1k so they can monitor when its using the most oil
  10. the Z4 and the boxster are both available with the removable hard top, at the minute im swayed towards the boxster but am going to have a good look around at two seater sports such as merc and honda ect,
  11. forgot about the deisel, you get a full tank 2 bottles of wine and a cortesy car, this is apparently standard practice for the recall
  12. im also looking at changing, just got the wife a new fiesta as she is learning to drive and have been given the go ahead to get a two seater, currently debating on the bmw Z4 or the porsche boxster
  13. i have a 56 plate 220d,i had the recall letter 3/4 months ago rang up booked it in got a rx400 courtesy car and two bottles of wine and a full valet for my trouble, many more on here have had the same so dont let them fob you off.
  14. not any more after been stopped and £30 fine got the correct spacing ones back on, a guy on e bay was selling C16 XUS with a buy now price of £4500 dont think he would have got anywhere near that price for it though
  15. thinking of getting rid of my private plate K16 XUS any idea on values or any one fancy making an offer?
  16. hi, i have just got the base model is 220d, but given the choice again i would have the 250 without a doubt
  17. yes there is movement, speak to eric in sales or chris hunsley, i got 3k of the price of a new one from sheffield and at the moment with the current climate there should be better deals around, i pay £300 per month on a 3 year pcp on a is 220d
  18. the one sheffield have or had is a customers car who decided he no longer wanted or could afford to pay for it, so was trying to sell it before the payment was due,
  19. gary and chris in service are top blokes always have a laugh and barter the service price down.
  20. as the previous post it costs around £25 my brother works for a dealer[not lexus] the get a nice bonus if they sell it.
  21. took car in last week for 20k service and was told that they would change the injector as part of a recall on certain vehicles, i have had the 18 months from new and was getting an average mpg of 29.9, i have spoken to lexus about this in the past and was never given a answer as to why so poor returns, i wished i had gone forn the petrol auto, since the injector change a week ago my mpg is now 35.9 i travel the same route the same time of day and cant believe the improvement in mpg, i was getting totally fed up with the car and was kicking myself for getting a deisel and had started looking at other makes of car as i wanted a change, i hope my experience and memories fade from the 18 months i have had the car and i decide on another lexus which wont be a diesel
  22. i have an 06, had a 08 yesterday, the first thing i noticed is that the doors lock once you set off. didnt notice anything else apart from i have a deisel manual and after having a petrol auto i realised what a mistake i made.
  23. got mine back from servce yesterday full tank of fuel and two bottles of wine, total cost for 20k service including new front pads and a new battery in key fob was £349, also had new discs f.o.c
