the main issues i have had apat fom the poor mpg are the creaks and rattles, i have had a new front seat and other bits looked at but to be honest im that fed up with it i just cant be bothered with it no more. it uses alot of oil and the light comes on well before the service is due, im supposed to take it in every 1000 miles so they can monitor when it uses the most oil,would you? its got 28k ish on now had a complete set of tyres at 18k and a new set of rears this week 10k later. the paint is so soft and the bonnet is covered in stone chips. other members on here have had problems with the power sterring stoping working and the car going into crawl home mode but not sure if this is limited to the 220d. i think this is the car [220d] that they shouldnt have made, and a few have said it will be the last deisel?

asaid the 220d is only manual, 250 auto i believe is better mpg but only expect low 30mpg.

in my opionion dont get a 220d, i have a 56 plate one, had all the updates injector change ect, current mpg 29.9. also suffers from the ratles creaks ect. i have been a lexus owner for the last 6/7 years and the experience i have had with the 220d has made me make up my mind to get rid and move to another brand, like a few other owners on here. if you decide you want one go for the 250 auto but still expect low 30 mpg and a service every 10k which are not the cheapest.

when i was in the police we had a similar thing,turned out the owner was in prison as son as the tax ran out it was towed dont no what happened to it after that. also got a mate who is still in the police who recently took a car of a chav for no insurance, if its not claimed he's going to buy it before it goes to the crusher.

the one in your first post looks from the pics to have had work done on rear bumper and door, so would need a check to see if accident damage,looks to be a scuff on front bumper and usual stone chips on bonnet, also noticed the reg plates are not from lexus. the e-bay one looks the beter one if its as good as the ad, looks well looked after but doesnt have the cream interior. as you said plenty around see if its still up for sale at the weekend and go have a look if nothing else turns up.

no i think its a genuine car, if its a one owner and direct from lexus with a full history and recent service you should be ok

i thought the same thing about the dealer part, probably buys them direct from local lexus dealer.seems a pretty cheap lexus in that condition.

looks like a pretty good car to me if the description is correct, straight from main dealer so i would expect it to have a full lexus history. looks like it has rear reversing sensors as well. if i had got rid of my 220d i would have had a look, if i had the choice of my 220d and my old 200se i would go for the 200

the wear is even acrros the rears they are well below legal limit after 10k.

had my 220 now 2 years and had a complete set of tyres on at 18,000, whilst washing it today noticed that the rears are well below the legal limit car now at 28,000 thats only 10,000 of use on the rears. i had the car checked at 18,000 miles and had it tracked ect. anybody else had poor returns from there tyres? mine are the bridgestone potenza's which came on the car/

i have used accident exchange twice and recomended them to a mate, never had a problem with them but on my first non fault claim the lexus garage forgot to remove a dent in the side of the car not a big one but still a dent, when i collected it i pointed out the dent and was told to come back a week later as it was there last day at work as it was christmas, i had to take my car and drop off the accident exchange loan car, when i complained to accident exchange i was told i should have never accepted the car and left there car with lexus.

i have always paid cash for my cars, until this i bought the lexus which i did on a pcp and am i glad i did my payments are £300 per month and i am at a point now where i can return the car with nothing more to pay and walk away. i should think i have saved around 6k by doing the pcp and not buying the car outright and suffering with the depreciation.
