  1. Yes that's right. The set has it's own code which is printed on the back of the jewel case that the discs come in. This code can be used on the lexus-mapupdates.eu website to see if there is an update available for your set in the future. The latest version is 2009-2010 ver 1 which have E12 printed on them.
  2. No, it will depend on which generation system is installed in the car. I think there are the following generations: 00, 01, 03, 05 and 08. The IS250/220 (except maybe the up-to-date facelift models) use 05. My old IS200/IS300 used Gen 01. I have found that some discs worked on Gen 03 and 05 (eg: the current up-to-date disc I have for my IS250 would work on my mums SC430 Gen 03 system) Some newer models now use a Hard Drive based satnav system so you get it updated at your dealer instead of changing the disc
  3. Hmm, that screen may also appear for an incorrect disc - I think I saw it when I had an incorrect disc for my old IS200 about 5 years ago. Would you like me to send you one of the additional discs from my set? The latest DVDs are a 4 disc set, obviously the Western Europe disc is installed in my car, but I could send you the Central Europe disc to try. It still has major UK roads on it so will still work for testing purposes. At least you can then rule out the incorrect disc issue. PM me your address if your are interested.
  4. My IS250 Auto is 214g/km - a strange situation where the Auto is more economical than the Manual.
  5. Yes the old disc should still work. With my previous 3 cars the same nav discs were used so I always put the old one back in the car and transferred the newer disc to my newer car. If an incorrect nav disc is inserted the screen says something to that effect, something like "Incorrect disc inserted, please check and try again". I've only ever seen DVD Error on screen when I had a disc with a really bad finger smudge on it and the drive couldn't read it.
  6. New disc arrived and as suspected same problem, The garage are gonna call Lexus on Monday. Cant imagine its an easy fix! Bet the garage is not going to be happy is they have to pay out £££ for a new Nav Unit! Keep us informed!
  7. Oh dear. I should get the new disk from the garage today. If it dont work then a faulty drive sounds like a problem. Is this something that can be repaired or is it a whole unit The drive does looks pretty standard but it depends on how accessable it is. For ease it may be a whole Nav unit replacement but this would probably be costly. Is your car still under warranty? Even if it's just out of warranty it may be worth a call to Lexus GB as something like this shouldn't fail so soon.
  8. A top-spec Prius is about £21k so I would expect this to be slightly more.
  9. I bought one, didn't work. They are not genuine. I can assure you that www.lexus-mapupdates.eu sell genuine Toyota parts - I've bought 5 sets of discs from them over the last few years and they arrived sealed with toyota part number stickers on them. If your disc didn't work then you either ordered the wrong disc or there is a fault with your system. As a side note: another thing to remember is that DVD-R copies off places like eBay will more than likely not work as a firmware update a couple of years ago stopped the drives from reading DVD-R discs
  10. Hmmm, interesting. I have recently picked up an 06 220d MM and noticed that the Sat Nav wasnt working. The garage are sending me out a new disc. Ejected the old one and it is an 82671-xxxxx, 2005 - 2006. Causes a DVD data error. I also tried a friends disk (he has a 2007 220d and his disk was also an 82671 (same error on mine). Did Lexus change the compatability from 2006 - 2007? Assuming the above is correct I am hoping my replacement is an 86807!?! The original disc from my car was 86271-53030 (2005-2006 Ver 1). A DVD data error sounds like a faulty DVD ROM drive in the unit.
  11. Went to a VIP event with my mum at Lexus Sheffield at the weekend. Really good service. Champagne on arrival with music and a nice carpet. Staff were really nice and not pushy at all. Most of the used car stock outside had reductions stickers on ranging from £700 off to a couple of grand. Quite a few cars had sold stickers on including the white IS2500 F-Sport that was in the showroom. My mum got all the info she wanted along with a test drive and some figures to ponder over. No hard sell, but the best experience I think I've ever had in a Lexus dealership. Good prices and good service. If you're looking at changing they can be worth going to.
  12. I think (although someone may correct me) that you only get the warning on the dash with the factory fitted sensors that are on the SE-L spec car. The ones fitted after (inc. Lexus ones) just make the beeping noise.
  13. The IS250 does NOT use CVT, but many hybids like the Prius do. For some reason, some databases have the IS250 down as CVT and have done for a few years. It's just a mistake
  14. I don't know the number (I'll try and check in the morning), but I'm pretty sure mine are reasonably high - probably around 1500. The car is a little eager to move off the drive first thing in the morning!
  15. Jumped in my car this morning and started her ready ready to de-ice the windows. Straight away I though the engine sounded a little odd, very low revs. Anyway, after de-icing the windows for 5 minutes I got in the car and noticed that the display said "check VSC" with the traction control light and the red triangle light up. The yellow/orange picture of an engine was also flashing. I switched the engine off and back on again and the lights disappeared. Since my extended warranty runs out in 6 days, I took it straight to Lexus Sheffield. They had the computer on it and the only error code reported was something to do with the stearing off centre! They've cleared this and I haven't seen the error since (used the car 3 times so far). Very strange.
  16. Welcome to the club. I've had mine since Feb last year and I still love it. I see that you are in South Yorkshire - go and see Chris/Gary at the service dept at Lexus Sheffield and get a service plan to budget the cost of your future services. You get a free MOT for each year you have the plan which will save you a few quid. Not sure how much it saves on the individual costs of the services, but paying monthly means I don't have to worry about a £200-£300 bill coming out of nowhere. They will also put your details onto their computer and check to see if the car needs any recal work. When I did the same last year it showed that the car needed the rear brake calipers looking at and the stearing rack checking. Also got the benefit of a full valet and VSR check while they were at it which showed the car I'd bought was a good one after all. I love the beige interior also - goes really well with the Brechin Slate colour of mine (also a '55' Reg Nov 2005 IS250SE/MM). Cheers Phil
  17. The latest SatNav disc set for the IS250/220 is as follows: 4 DVD Set Marked as 'E12' on the discs 2009 - 2010 Ver. 1 Set code number: 86807-0W063 Part Number: PZ485-X03EU-09 This set was released about Oct/Nov 2009.
  18. Just a heads up, but it looks like Top Gear will be reviewing the LFA supercar on Sunday night.
  19. I was in London for the day yesterday and I walked down Park Lane. The Lexus Dealer there had a white LFA in the showroom. Looked quite nice, but not something I would buy even if I had the money! There were some printed spec sheets next to the car for people to take away, but no full brochures or price.
  20. The updated SatNav discs cost about £150 to buy from Lexus. The 'circles on roads' that you talk about? Are these small red dots? Is so you have the feature enabled that shows you where you have previously been. This option can be switched off in the menus somewhere. I can't remember how to do it off top of my head, but it is easy to do. Cheers Phil
  21. Cars owned in order: 1 - 'M' 1995 Peugeot 106XND - 1.5 Diesel. Utter crap. 2 - 'R' 1997 Toyota Starlet - 1.3 Petrol. Lovely well built car, and still going strong today (I know the current owner) 3 - 'V' 2000 Toyota Avensis - 1.8GS. Great car with wonderful economy considering it's overall performance and size 4 - '51' 2001 Lexus IS200 SE Auto Navigator. My wife says it's the best car we ever had. She loved it and didn't want me to get rid of it 5 - '06' 2006 Honda Accord 2.2CDTi EX. My first (and probably only) brand new car. I was amazed by the performance and economy. It really makes the IS220d look terrible. Wife thought it was too big though, so I only kept it about 10 months. 6 - '53' 2003 Lexus IS200 Sport Navigator. Back in the IS200 shape my wife liked, but a manual gearbox. Only kept it for about 4 months as I got a good deal on car number 7.... 7 - '04' 2004 Lexus IS300 Navigator. What a great car. Shame about the economy. So much fun to drive. Highly recommended if you can afford the running costs. 8 - '57' 2007 Toyota Prius T-Spirit. After the running costs of the IS300, I fancied something a little more frugal. Really enjoyed this car and I did find it good to drive. It had the multimedia toys of the IS250/220 range and I got over 50mpg most of the time. Once achieved 67mpg on a run from Sheffield to Cardiff. £15/year road tax and free parking in Sheffield was also nice. 9 - '55' 2005 IS250SE Auto MM. My current car and my favourite of them all. Easy and smooth to drive through town. Quiet and refined. But, fun when I want it to be on the open roads. I've had it for 10 months so far, and no sign of swapping just yet. Not a bad collection for 11 years!
  22. I ordered them from the update website www.lexus-mapupdates.eu - they bill in Euros, and after the conversion with the current poor exchange rate, my card was billed about £148.00 including postage.
  23. No, the update only changes access to the SatNav while moving. Using the Audio and Phone features while moving are still restricted in the same way.
