  1. After you've successfully entered the VIN, you should be prompted to enter the bulletin ID. Do you get a screen like this?
  2. I've owned an SE model since mid March. Yesterday I took it to the dealer for some warranty work to be done and I now have a '65' plate 'Sport' model with 18" wheels for a few days. I noticed a difference in the ride quality instantly - I really don't like the 18" wheels. I can feel every bump in the road on my usual drive to work. I much prefer my normal car with the 16" wheels. Note, this loan car is a 'Sport' not 'F-Sport' so I don't think it has any different suspension settings like the F-Sport does. Although I initially wanted a 'Premier' model when shopping around for all the extra toys inc ML Audio, I'm really happy with my SE. For comparison I would be interested to try a model with 17" wheels but the 18" would be a no-no for me on any future purchase of this range.
  3. VD12103A is the most recent version. Not sure why the other is displayed (it did for me too) as it is quite old now.
  4. Blank USB. Unzip download - copy the files HASHLIST.DAT and LOADING.KWI to USB (don't create any folders - USB should only have these two files on) Enter service mode (hold Menu and switch lights on/off 3 times) Select Service Information Select Program Update Insert USB and the OK button should light up. Please be careful in the service mode - don't play around with things unless you are sure with what they do
  5. I did it myself but it isn't available on the portal. You need to get the files from https://www.lexus-tech.eu Do a search for ECU Software updates (even though this isn't for the ECU) and enter your VIN number. It will ask for the technical services bulletin number which is BE-0081L-1113
  6. I've upgraded the firmware on my Premium Nav unit this week: Old version: VD12102F New version: VD12103A According to the release documents, it is mostly bug-fixes but the main one for me was it fixes an issue with the split-screen nav mode where the turn-by-turn icons are displayed empty.
  7. A family member had a similar issue with an RX400h a few years ago. Turned out the 12V battery didn't have enough power for some reason and the Hybrid system refused to start as a result. Once the 12V battery was replaced, problem went away and never reappeared. It appears to be common on many hybrids. If you look at the Toyota forums for Prius and Auris owners, quite a few have had their 12V batteries replaced. I'm told that the hybrid cars use smaller 12V batteries than regular cars so they have a tendency to run out if the car is not used for a while (this battery keeps the alarm and central locking powered up).
  8. After some trial and error I found that 300x300 cover art worked fine for me. I first tried 400x400 but only a handful displayed but with 300x300 everything appears to show up. I wish the system would display the track name from the ID3 tags rather than the file name - my wife's 2015 Toyota Aygo does!
  9. I'll book it in at the supplying dealer and see what they say. Thanks for the responses.
  10. Picked up my 2013 IS300h SE last week. I noticed a strange raised circle in the roof lining - is this normal or do I need to get it checked out?
  11. Very interesting thread - just read the whole thing after putting a deposit in a IS300h at the weekend. Im probably going to use a local independent Lexus specialist for my servicing. I'm fortunate that I know they guy that setup his own business about a year ago. He worked at my local Lexus dealer for nearly 20 years so I'm pretty confident he will be fine working on my car. He is also only about 2 miles away from my place of work so it might be more convenient as well as cheaper in the long run. It will be a year before I need my next service though so plenty of time to weigh up all the pros and cons.
  12. The pug was my first car when I left university. Just needed something cheap and economical for work - bought it at an auction. Hated it, but it did the job.
  13. Here is my list - just put a deposit on the IS300h so I'm excited to be returning to the Lexus stable: 1995 Peugeot 106 1.5 XND 1997 Toyota Starlet 1.3 Sportif 1999 Toyota Avensis 1.8 GS 2001 Lexus IS200 SE Auto 2006 Honda Accord 2.2D Exec 2003 Lexus IS200 Sport 2004 Lexus IS300 2007 Toyota Prius T-Spirit 2005 Lexus IS250 SE Auto 2010 Toyota Auris Hybrid T-Spirit 2013 Lexus IS300h SE
  14. The plastic housing that has the switch for the hazard lights comes out. There are two small holes (one at each side) - use the two metal tools that are in the toolkit (by the spare wheel) - insert one in each hole. This will release the part, although you will need to use a bit of force with a blunt object under the middle to pull it out. You can then eject the disc using the option on the 'Info' screen (I think). Be careful - it is quite easy to scratch the surrounding material when removing the plastic housing.
  15. I think you get Smart (keyless) entry if you have the SatNav option fitted. I seem to remember my dealer mentioning that.
  16. I'd go for the Auto - I used to own one, fantastic car. The Multimedia pack is well worth it too. Depending on when the Manual car was registered, it may be £400 per year road tax, but the Auto will be £265 - not a massive difference, but something to consider. In my opinion, the Auto is a much better car and worth the extra £££
  17. Best car I've ever owned with no problems at all. Had to downsize as I wanted something more economical, but I will miss her :-(
  18. Sounds just like the one I've just traded in - getting it from Barnsley?
  19. A couple of years ago, the firmware on the SatNav discs was updated to make the DVD drive in the car not read DVD-R copies anymore. Once you have updated your system to a newer version, you won't be able to use DVD-R discs at all, even if this copied disc used to work fine before the firmware was updated. There were some people on the net taking newer discs, but changing the firmware stored on them to older versions so that they wouldn't update the software on the system in the car, but would still be able to use the newer map data. With all this blatant piracy going on there is no wonder that Lexus have now started using internal hard-drives that have to be upgraded by the dealer using a special computer setup. If you can't afford the £130-ish it costs for the 4-disc sets, try looking on eBay. Single discs often come up where people sell off the discs they don't need. I got an original E13 disc for Europe West (all i need) for about £50.
  20. Ah yes, I forgot about that, which I shouldn't have done as my mum has an SC430 which was registered on 1st March 2006 and so is £245 to tax instead of over £400. It means a '55' reg or very early '06' reg manual IS250 would be cheaper to tax.
  21. Yes, the Auto is in a lower tax bracket than the Manual. The Auto is £245 per year. The Manual is about £425. The Auto is really smooth and I love driving mine. I get about 27mpg driving around town and 40mpg on motorway runs.
  22. Glad to hear things have started to move along. Just make sure you keep a log of any money you spend including phone calls, as the garage you bought the car from should be paying for it all for you. I think the garage is lucky that you've spent so much time researching the issue. I would have been inclined to just demand they pay the £3000+ for a new MM unit and get it fitted.
  23. I received an email yesterday from Listers Lexus (Lincoln) which said it would be available in July. Clearly there is some confusion as to when this car will be available.
