Here is the Speedo unit we bought......... Its the size of a normal standard aftermarket Gauge but has Revs, Speed, Fuel gauge, trip meter, Indicator light, Rear fog light, handbrake light, dipped beam light, main beam light, and battery warning light............all in the single unit!!!! Also very easy to wire up as everthing is labeled up well. We have also ordered a S2 type Hall speed sensor, this takes the original speedo cable from the mini and converts it to a electronic pulse which goes straight into the back of the unit. Takes a little bit of time to calibrate it but should be good when its set up correctly :) Jason :P

Hi All, I thought i might do a little post to show you all what im currently working on and if it gets done in time i will bring it along to JAE next year :) might sort out a few passenger rides up and down the beach if your lucky :) Me and a mate have bought this so we both own 50% ownership as i didn't make sense spending the money on two when your only going to be using it for 2-3 months a year. Firstly we started off with a little donor vehicle, Mini mayfair, this was cut up and all the bits we needed where kept, the front of the mini is now at the end of my mates garden waiting to be built into a BBQ :P We then bought a part built ABS 'Freestyle' buggy for just over £1000 from fleecebay, had to drive to Essex to collect it but well worth it. After a few weeks we have stripped down the engine and put in new clutch, head gasket, water pump, all new seals and generally cleaned it up. Spent a few ours polishing the rocker cover as well and painting all the supframe to look like new. This is currently what it looks like and i will update this post with progress as and when it happens for those that may be interested ??? It currently only has a 998cc engine but we have a 1275 cooper engine that is getting built up to race spec and will be going in after its road legal :) Also recently just bought Speedo, all new bush's, got a free racing seat :), adjustable camber, toe arms. Thanks Matt but i would prefer the whole silencer piece. Im thinking about taking it to a friend and having it remade in stainless. Plus i want the use of my car while he is making the new one. If i get another one i can just drop it off with him and he can do it in his own time :) Jason :P

I like the colour loads, looks well nice :P and i even like the colour of the wheels in the top picture I think blue wheels will go well with the blue pearl over the car. Or even slightly darker silver wheels with the same blue pearl on them??? Jason :P

It all comes down to the individual police unit if they decide to pull you over or not, yes it will be spaced illegally but you may not get stopped but you might??? @ Mossyn, another member from Southampton :) How come i never see you driving about, there doesn't seem to be many members down this way Jason :P

Im afraid they won't fit! The centre dial and right dial i can get to fit perfectly however on the left dial if you compare to Scott's pictures you will notice that the battery and rear bulb lights are the other way round. I am doing my best to try and find a later model speedo cluster so i can make the new version but have had no luck yet when i do get the new speedo and create the file the dials will be available through Prolex

They are available for the auto cars but if you post a picture up of your dials i will tell you if they will fit or not. Prolex can supply the auto version also :shutit:

Everytime i see the Sport dials it makes me want to change mine more and more Although i don't actually have a sport :shutit: As for the year changeover, im still trying to work out when they actually did change the dials???? I almost managed to buy a new speedo cluster the other day through ebay. The guy told me it came from an 03 car but it was clearly a pre 2001 version!!! I think there are a few 2001 models with the dials fitted but finding a certain date where the changeover happened is hard!?!?!? Jason :P

I have aftermarket wheels and therefore have no need for my old Locks, you can have them for the cost of the postage :)

thats exactly what i did! I wanted a lip spoiler and managed to find one attached to a boot laready, and in the correct colour and in better nick than my existing bootlid :) Jason :P

not too sure, just going to weld a new straight through piece in and see what its like, i can't afford to remove the precats yet as i don't have the wonga. I have a DB meter here so i can check it after to see sound levels, if its to loud then it will be sold :)

Yes thats the one, sort of an extra silencer part. Going to make it straight through rather than a silencer so make the car a little louder Jason :P

I read somewhere that Smokey did time in a UK slammer for this! but could be wrong! Just checked with my bro, They held him overnight then he was let go :D

If anyone has a centre silencer section from their IS200 then let me know, pref cheaper the better. Its only for a quick little project Jason :P
