  1. Oh,maybe I misread your last post. They are £3k but you reckon £300 would be acceptable?
  2. Thats better but I am happy with the poverty version.
  3. How much! Thats robbery, they arent that big. The demo unit I drove had a nasty scratch on the carbon door plate presumably caused by a shoe so they dont eliminate that. A J.
  4. Update for anyone who may be interested. Had the front brake pads changed by the dealer after agreement by Lexus UK. The dealer showed me the pad comparison which clearly demonstrates a slightly smaller pad with different chamfering and only one slot to clear the dust. They said that the revised part number appears to be what will apply from now on with all cars requiring pad replacement.Maybe the newest cars in the UK come with these pads already. The brake feel did not seem any different on my journey home and I will monitor the performance and see if the dust levels (and squeal)are reduced. A J.
  5. The reality is,in normal day to day use ,none of that makes much difference in my opinion. The vids on Youtube are usually with cars not actually owned by the so called reviewer. A J.
  6. Hi, I have a Sport V8 and test drove all 3 versions before buying. The must haves for me are 21in wheels, sports seats ,carbon fibre roof and ML system.Whilst it would have been nice to have the retractable rear spoiler,it was not a must and I could not detect any appreciable difference in handling etc from the trick diff and rear steering. I was open to buying either a Sport or Sport Plus but at the the time the colour and age/mileage available presented my white Sport. My friends and contacts in the trade have all assumed it is the Plus model until I have pointed out the only exterior difference,eg the rear spoiler. I am very happy with the Sport for my style of driving, which does not include any track use. I hope you find what you want as the sale of these incredible cars has increased recently, certainly on the used market. A J.
  7. Update on my brakes. Lexus Lincoln have advised that they have been authorised to fit a different front pad. The car is due to go in next month . They did warn me that the brake feel may change due to a different compound in the pads.I hope this is not drastic . A J.
  8. Chris, My last one was an ND in 1.5 guise. Great little car but if I go again it will be the latest 2 litre. Will have to explore what the dealers have. Look forward to pics of your new RCF when it arrives. A J.
  9. Wholeheartedly agree regarding MX5. I have had 7 and am contemplating another to make my perfect trio with the LC500 and our BMW M135i X Drive.Really miss the steering and gearchange which makes it feel quicker than it is hence the fun to be had without hitting warp speed. A J.
  10. Hi Brian, Welcome to the forum. Before buying my V8 ,I had the 500h on a 4 day demo and was very impressed to the point that I nearly bought it.However,I then drove the V8 and just had to have it. I came from various new Jags(appalling quality) and then new BMW M cars, which were fantastic in all respects. We have just bought a new BM as our daily . No doubt you will demo the Lexus and will be highly impressed with the quality and the unique design which makes you realise it is something special. A J.
  11. Sorry to hear you had to reject the car.Was it established as a factory fault or has the dealer had to buy it back due to an issue after they received it.
  12. It would be good to have an update on this issue as its been some weeks and presumably the problem has been resolved. Thanks, A J.
  13. Thanks for the info.Whilst my car is under Lexus warranty I will avoid any non Lexus parts/equipment. A J.
  14. Chris, Did the dealer get approval for a warranty pad swap?
  15. Thanks for that link Mike. If it gets no worse/more often I will probably put up with it.Although I clean the wheels very thoroughly after use ,I dont spray high pressure water at the calipers so it could be a build up of dust.It was particularly loud in town today but the next stop we made in traffic it was silent.
  16. Hi everyone, Has anyone else in the UK experienced any front brake squeek/squeal. My car,on occasions, makes a pretty loud squeal noise when moving very slowly in,say,a tailback or traffic light queue and gently applying the brakes. Not all the time and possibly mainly warm weather. The car is regularly used, garaged, cleaned every time its used and the discs look unscarred. I read on the USA forum that owners had suffered with this and heavy brake dust and Lexus America replaced the pads under warranty with a different compound. My UK dealer claimed to know nothing of this when I raised it shortly after buying the car when it first did this. However,it has not happened too often so I ignored it.When it does this it is a little embarrassing as the car already gains a lot of attention. Perhaps other owners have had this or maybe I need to brake harder to wear the disc surface! The car has done 8k miles. Thanks, A J.
  17. Hi Eddie, It is my understanding the emergency release facility in the manual applies when the fuel flap door remains stuck shut due to the electronic plunger not operating when you press the button. The issues experienced by myself and others is that the plunger operates but there is insufficient force to flip open the flap.I lubricated my hinge and only in very cold circumstances has it stuck since but even then it can easily be prised fully open with my finger as the plunger has done its job. There has been no recall to my knowledge but the dealers offer a replacement flap hinge. It appears this entails removing trim etc and I have already gone down that route with the fuel pump ,which was a recall. Cheers, A J.
  18. Ah,the NC500. We hope to do that but have been warned that some roads are not LC500 friendly and this year there will be many people doing the same trip so hotels may be booked out. A J.
  19. You certainly will enjoy the LC500. Welcome and keep the input coming as this forum is now picking up a fair few new owners. A J.
  20. Thanks for outside pics.Looks great. I am using mine as much as has been reasonable and have just clicked past 8k miles. A J.
  21. That does look amazing. Have you had much stone chip damage anywhere? A few pics outside in the sunlight would be nice.Such a good colour. A J.
  22. Hi Graeme and welcome to the LC club. As a matter of interest where did you get the car from after its appearances listed? Look forward to updates on ownership. They certainly do create a lot of interest when out and about. A J.
  23. I am pleased with the fue l economy so far. For the past year or so I have averaged just under 30 mpg of mixed driving including many short trips due to the ongoing situation.Pretty good for V8. Please keep us updated on your ownership of the car. A J.
  24. Hi and welcome. Look forward to pics, something I have never been able to add to any forum. I had a LC 500h for a 4 day demo before getting my V8 version.Very impressive, whichever model you choose. Cheers, A J.
  25. Is it possible the car has received some paintwork rectification since arriving in the UK.Maybe damaged in transit. Not uncommon for light scratches to be polished and then the panel has a new clearcoat over the original, but maybe damaged, colour coat. Just a thought. A J.
