  1. My LC is coming up 3 years old and I had it serviced at the main dealer a couple of weeks ago. They told me I would receive my 1 Year Relax Warranty document direct from Lexus. Could someone confirm what document you get and how long it took to arrive. Many thanks. A J.
  2. I have said many times how efficient the V8 can be if treated with respect but without needing to dawdle around. My best is 40 mpg over a route to Essex I use very frequently which totals 315 miles of very mixed roads. I have never used Eco mode. A J.
  3. Hedge End seems to be a popular place for LC500s.I noticed that the Lexus dealer has had a fair few used ones recently and has 2 now.Dont know if they are actively trade buying or these are existing customer part exchanges. Only one I have seen recently is the black V8 at Lincoln, sat in their showroom. A J.
  4. Not for me. Was in my Lexus dealer today getting a service and they have a standard Black LC in the showroom.Several people came up to me and said how much better the car stands out in my colour of metallic white. Those pics probably dont do the new black one justice. A J.
  5. I was told by two Lexus dealers that the fuel flap issue was not a recall but that a slightly amended mechanism was available if the owner wanted it fitted. In my case,it seems to be temperature related as mine has been good since early Spring and I spray the hinge with silicone occasionally.Apparently, the fix requires the removal of the rear seat and I had that done before when there was an official recall on the fuel pump.I dont want my trim disturbed more than necessary for obvious reasons. If the flap turns bad I will obviously have to get it done. A J.
  6. I have the physical book updated and didnt know you could check online. Prefer to have the book and copy of the Invoice etc. A J.
  7. Why would your insurer cite the value of your car as the reason for such a high premium. As far as I can see its used value is about the same as a mid range BMW,Audi etc. I wonder if their actual underwriters have so little insurance data on the rare LC that they have taken a negative view. As you say….Thanks and Goodnight! A J.
  8. That is amazing and worrying if a main dealer. A J.
  9. Brian, As a saddo who looks at the available stock very regularly,I agree that prices have certainly stopped hardening if maybe not dropped. My take is end of season scenario. In the past week I detected at least 4 main dealer cars sold, which is pretty good for this model. The older cars in the early to mid 50s are a great buy especially with the new Lexus 10 year warranty package. A J.
  10. Wow,thats unfortunate. Assume you mean the car was faulty. There are a number of used ones currently on the Lexus dealer website in red so should be fairly easy to get sorted if you are happy to travel or remote buy. Good luck. A J.
  11. There is a main dealer one in Canterbury and one at Kent Motor Co.Both look like mine except mine is a Sport .Only external visual difference is the rear retracting spoiler. Look forward to hearing your views when you get it. A J.
  12. I have been tempted to do this but so far have chosen not to as the car sounds good to me as stock. Havent seen any posts by the op for a long time but would be good to get an update if he is still on the forum. By the way, where did you get the LC you are collecting? Always good to see additional cars joining the forum. Enjoy your purchase. A J.
  13. Martin, Beautiful car you have there. I had the front brake noise and had the front pads changed for the latest ones by my dealer under warranty. So far,the noise has gone. The fuel lid issue should be no problem as your car is later than the change of design. Dont know about any software update but will ask when mine is serviced next month. A J.
  14. Welcome Martin. Mine is coming up to towards 3 years old near the year end and just gone over 10k miles. Look forward to reading which model and colour etc. A J.
  15. That car is just supreme. Maybe a small bank loan ?
  16. As a matter of interest, what part of Essex are you.I am from Leigh on Sea and regularly return for family. However, not often in the Lexus as we have to lug stuff about. A J.
  17. I am,out of my window and mine looks exactly like the ad you show ,same colour. A J.
  18. Sam, I think you are confusing the exhaust sound of the LC with the RCF. It certainly isnt overly quiet unless you are literally poodling around town, which is totally fine. The aftermarket systems shown on Youtube seem to create a loud but unpleasant soundscape, completely out of character with the LC.Just my opinion. I found the Lexus dealers only too willing to provide extended demo periods. Its just a case of whether they have a V8 available as they interchange demo units between Hybrid and V8 . Good luck. A J.
  19. My dealer asked for both fobs and changed the batteries in front of me. After approx 6 months one of the fobs displayed low battery and the dealer replaced the battery at no charge. A J.
  20. I assume I am that “certain sort of person” as I agree with the analysis of the car.No idea about the article overall but they seem to like it. I keep saying this, but I really dont understand why more LC are not on our roads. A J.
  21. It is the clear coat lacquer that has failed then, albeit only in a small area.Possibly bird dropping or something similarly acidic but may be the bonnet was repainted before you got it and not baked sufficiently. Either way,a good bodyshop can probably re lacquer without needing to repaint the whole bonnet if the colour paint is undamaged. If its very small you may prefer to leave it but usually, once the lacquer starts to lift it just gets worse as water gets under it.
  22. Did you buy the car from new.If not,it may have had the bonnet resprayed and the paint is now failing.
  23. I only ever use Shell V Power, unless necessary ,in all our cars.Even in my 44 year old MG Midget which also needs an unleaded additive. This will be essential now as the E10 stuff eats away older car internals. A J.
