  1. Trouble is,it may be assumed you have had paint done and the repairer hasnt fitted new badges.Thats what I always think when a car is incorrectly badged. But if you prefer it then fair enough.
  2. Not sure what you lug around all the time as my boot was basically empty other than after a big shopping trip.Any coats, day bags etc went on the back seat with our retriever. A J.
  3. Thats ridiculous,as Leicester have two used LC standing there which have been reduced as they have been there for a good while. A J.
  4. I have just sold an LC500 V8 and got back very nearly what I paid for it 3 years ago.I spoke to a couple of main dealers and both were extremely keen to buy it for cash. I know that these cars are selling steadily even with the crazy fuel rip off. Who knows what the future holds but having discussed this with all of my car pals, none of them are selling for any other reason than they have access to more than one nice car and are just not using one particular car enough. A J.
  5. Wow,thats service,delivering to your cottage. Enjoy. A J.
  6. Why have you had to wait for a used LC? My experience of main Lexus dealers is that their used cars are ready to take basically immediately. You will enjoy it once it comes. A J.
  7. Brian, The £40k threshold for VED is now a joke and bears no resemblance to the impact it was supposed to have when it was first applied. There are very few cars available now close to £30k. I have been trying to buy an MX5 and they are now £35k for the top model.Crazy.A couple of forthcoming price increases and thats the £40k passed. Are there any Lexus now below £40k.I see there is a 3% increase in July. My dealer has recently sold 2 used LC (both V8) in the same week and one of those was £90k.So hopefully the demand is still there. AJ.
  8. Positive impact on used values is no good if you cannot get a new car. Late used ones are now at new list levels. I dont know how people can wait a year for a new car.I will change my mind several times over that period!Plus, the model will get facelifted and the spec changed. Will manufacturers guarentee the same price for 12+ months? A J.
  9. There were two LC for sale at main dealers last week in the mid 50s ,both with nearly 40k miles and early examples. Both appear to have sold over the past few days. Despite comments earlier in this thread,I know the LC has many fans and there is very little competition at their price point and type of car.Clearly,we are entering very difficult times generally but I believe the people likely to buy this type of car will continue to do so.No doubt prices will fall to some extent as they get older but hopefully not by a big margin. A J.
  10. Very interesting.Theres a lot more of everything about these cars than might have been imagined. A J.
  11. Its a shame the US market petrol IS isnt here as that looks great. Fully electric gets no interest from me. A J.
  12. I cannot help but think Lexus are missing out on a decent market for smaller saloon/ hatchback cars. The CT and IS were discontinued here ,leaving only the SUV range or the ES ,which is quite large. Had the new IS come to these shores we would have considered it when our daily BMW was renewed last year.It would have had to be exceptional but at least it would have been an option. Not everyone wants an SUV especially when the interior space(UX) is pretty limited. A J.
  13. Are these offers from serious buyers who have been to see the car,or time wasters and traders? Encouraging that there is a lot of interest. A J.
  14. Great save! Was it caught on video? A J.
  15. I have owned my LC for 2.5 years and have always used it frequently including some shopping trips etc.I am extremely fussy about where I leave it and careless other owners but as said above, theres little point in just leaving it in the garage.Plus,I get to clean it every day I use it,which I enjoy! Enjoy yours. A J.
  16. Big Rat, No pics of under boot space but I can tell you there is no storage room there. There are two under floor panels. One covering the tool kit in its polystyrene tray and the other for the battery etc. You could wedge valuables in but thats about all. As I have said before, the boot and rear seat are well sufficient for travelling. A J.
  17. Good luck with the mirror. Pleased the LC is attracting increased values, makes me wonder what mine would achieve.Presume the cash offers were from these internet companies. My relationship with JLR was not good. I bought a new V6 XES in 2016 and it blew its engine in the first 24 hours. The dealer replaced it immediately with a better specced one but the build quality and materials were atrocious.I binned it within weeks and went back to BMW for an M4 where the quality was on another level. We have since had several new BMs as our daily car. Please let me know how you get on with Lexus as I always had it in mind to offer mine back to the dealer when I decide to sell.Maybe not the best option though. A J.
  18. Fully understand. Mine doesnt do the mileage I think it warrants but there is nothing to compete for me so I will carry on at this stage. I have studied the used LC market avidly for the past 3 years and this last year has seen used values increase along with a solid flow of sales, relative to the size of the LC market. Can I ask, have you had a good response from dealers in discussing trade in or cash sale? A J.
  19. Brian, You are selling? Where are you heading? A J.
  20. As a start point,The main dealers in house or favoured body shop will at least give you the most expensive quote ,just for info. You can then work from there, either by fitting one yourself or sourcing a used replacement(unlikely to find?) A comp insurance will pay ,subject to your excess. As said above, this will impact on your future premiums one way or another. A J.
  21. Be interesting to see if it turns up at some dealer, marked up accordingly.I suspect not as it would be an expensive 17 plate for any decent profit to be made. Just needs a proper main dealer service to secure the Lexus 10 year warranty deal. A J.
  22. Brian,I am certain the roof is a fixed glass one but with a sliding lining panel to give the impression of a standard sun roof. That is what is in the standard LC model and I had an extended demo of one of those. After back to back comparison with my Sport I knew I preferred the Sports seats and Carbon fibre roof, plus the 21s. A J.
  23. I am certain this limited edition is neither Sport or Sport + spec. The leather seats are not Sport and nor is the glass roof.It may have HUD and Mark Levinson but they have to be added to all versions. It does have the 21 in wheels. At fifty something thousand this will be a good buy if the interior is liked. A J.
  24. Looks like a car with 2 owners who havent bought it to use. Regardless of virtually no miles on it,the service record isnt in line with Lexus and not carried out by main dealer. Some may see that as a bad mark…..certainly would if it were a Porsche! The final bid price is subject to a 6% fee so that has to be factored in. Personally the interior is not for me and its basically a standard model with specific upgrades,eg Sport alloys. Suspect it may end up with one of the specialist dealers and marked up accordingly. A J.
