  1. Hi Kevin, Hope you get over any side effects quickly. You must be excited at the arrival of the new car.It will certainly have a few miles on if its being driven down! See you have your plate from the coupe on it.Have you px’d it? Look forward to pics etc when it arrives. Take care, A J.
  2. I drove a car with 20 in before then driving the car I bought, which has the 21 in wheels.I did not detect any discernible difference in handling, noise or compliance. Personally,I much prefer the 21 in design as they are a lovely forged finish and a delight to clean. In my opinion the smaller wheels appear to give the car an underwheeled look, but still very nice. A J.
  3. Gordon, If your LC is a 2020 model,it would seem the fuel cap mechanism fix which was available late 2019 is not a total fix .I was offered the fix a year ago by the dealer but elected to carry on as the warmer weather improved it and I applied a lubricant to the hinge. A J.
  4. Kevin, Yes,the comments are good with the one exception.Hopefully it is on its way to you. I follow the forum all the time but have not had anything to add recently.Been busy buying our new BMW M135i ,which replaced the lovely 6 cylinder M140.With demo drives off limit,we decided to stick with what we know and like, albeit the latest model which is now a 4 cylinder but gains X Drive.I negotiated the best deal with a dealer I havent used for a few years but who had a factory order arriving mid January.Seems the dealers have been very busy with click and collect. Cheers, A J.
  5. Kevin, I assume the pictures on Lexus Scotlands Facebook of an LC500 convertible in their showroom is your new car. Looks beautiful. Await your delivery news. A J.
  6. Hopefully my CTEK is ok as I ordered it last month!
  7. Be interested to know if your battery states AGM. What colour did you go for, mines the F Sport White with black leather. A J.
  8. I have the same CTEK charger and have been connecting it to both the battery directly,in the boot, using positive and negative connections to the battery and then sometimes using the special fuse box connector under the red flip panel.I attach the negative clip to the large bolt holding the brace bar which is easy to reach in front of the fuse box.Either method has brought my battery up to 80% in about 15 mins so far and then maybe another 2 hours to get to the green light meaning 100%. Despite being told the battery is AGM,I cannot see any mention of this on the battery labels so I have been using the normal mode on the CTEK which I was told was safe and may take a little longer to charge. Up to this icy week the car has been used about 2/3 times per week but not long runs, hence keeping the battery charged.Need to get out of lockdown to give it a cross country run! Which LC500 did you buy? A J.
  9. My advice...just buy one. Agree with most of the above comments. The boot is ok for the type of car it is. The infotainment system is just a matter of getting used to it.The Mark Levinson sound system is superb. Back seat easily accommodates our golden retriever! The 2019 car you refer to is shown as Lexus UK stock. Not sure what that means but possibly ex UK demo fleet.I suspect it is supplied via your favoured Lexus dealer. Good luck. A J.
  10. Been well documented on this forum as a fairly common issue. Some owners have had an updated fuel flap mechanism but others,eg me,have resorted to spray lubricant and a little packing on the flap. Seems to be a cold weather problem.Mine was perfect all Spring ,Summer and Autumn. A J.
  11. Fingers crossed its not a major issue. What makes you think it needs a new screen. Hopefully,Lexus will take a generous view if it does. Very low mileage and not long out of warranty. Good luck. A J.
  12. There is no indication on the battery label to state AGM although the dealer believes it is. I have just ordered a new Ctek as my newest one is throwing weird lights and I have resorted to a previous model to get up to 100% charged. As suggested ,I will use the standard mode. A J.
  13. Can anyone confirm if the battery in the boot of the LC500 V8 is an AGM. My dealer advises that it is. I want to connect my Ctek charger as the car is getting little use at present for obvious reason. Thanks, A J.
  14. Kevin,Lets hope your car is being built now and then its the transport which may not be delayed by the virus. I have no time for the comments continually made by the person you referred to.Constant moaning about a car he doesnt own .No one is forcing him to get one.I think the technical term is trolling.
  15. Kevin, With your interest in Lexus Scotland, have you noticed on their Facebook page that they are awaiting a LC500 convertible demo in July. Its Sonic Silver with red leather apparently. Hopefully, yours will be delivered well before then. A J.
  16. Great car Steve. Looks like mine,minus a roof! A J.
  17. Maybe door mirror caps? Not sure if black grille comes with Pro Pack. We got 18% off my last M4 and nearly 30% off this 140i as they were being pushed hard. I will approach Tony . Several dealers have said the same so far ,even on basic cars they have in stock .Maybe the uncertainty of Brexit will lift and with lockdown they will look to be more aggresive. A J.
  18. @V8ORBUST Floor mats. I am told anything over 11% was only achievable when first lockdown ended and BMW were giving the dealers an extra margin to shift stock.Stock is very thin at the moment.I dont accept these figures but need to find another car to actually haggle over. Our 140 has proven even more popular since it stopped production and so far the bids on it are pretty good. As this is our second car I must stay below the £40 k and that means a pretty basic spec.Thats OK as its very good anyway. We are used to the brilliant i drive but I have no complaints over my LC system.Apple carplay etc is of no interest to me.The Lexus Mark Levinson is very good as is the HK in the BMs we have had. Let us know how it goes when you can get some miles on. A J.
  19. V8orbust. Lovely new M135i. Assume thats Misano Blue. Not sure from pics which wheels you have.If they are 18s did you get Adaptive suspension? We are currently in negotiation for a stock M135 but lockdown has obviously affected things.Dealers are telling me they can all do Click and Collect . My wifes M140 is 3 in March but we were hoping to get sorted this month. So far the discounts we are discussing are not to my liking. Noticed your very subtle security enhancement! A J.
  20. Hi Kevin, Hope you are keeping well. Yes,this lockdown does mean regular visits to the forum to see whats happening. So frustrating as I would normally be using my LC at least 4 times per week, often to just go for a drive. At best,it will go to the shops just to keep it charged etc. I study the dealer sites for sales and last summer saw a good turnover of these cars following a pretty stagnant period. Some of the new owners, like yourself, came onto the forum and its good to exchange experiences. For my part, this is the nicest car I have owned out of all my Porsche,BMW and Jag etc and usually gets high praise from strangers. This latest lockdown has come just as we were ramping up negotiations with dealers to replace my wifes BMW. Not sure how the Click and Collect will work if we conclude on a satisfactory deal.We have considered a Lexus hybrid UX but I am not sure the fuel economy is sufficiently better than our 6 cylinder BM to justify the loss of driving dynamics. At present we are talking to dealers about the latest M135i but there is very little physical stock about which limits the type of deals I like to do! Stay safe, AJ.
  21. Strange comment above about perceived wealth of any LC owner. Of the 3 RCF on the Lexus used website, the cheapest is £53k for which you can get a main dealer used LC. On the reliability issues.I am aware of sticking fuel flap and replacement fuel pump(which also affected many other Lexus models). AJ.
  22. Excellent value at £1095 for 2 years. For reasons nobody has been able to give me,the 2 year figure for the LC500 is somewhere around £2400. My dealer said they could not understand it either. AJ.
  23. Kevin, Great picture. Are you sure the one on the right is road legal? A J.
  24. Thats what I was thinking as well. Constant criticising. If you dont like it,buy something you do. A J.
