  1. Malcolm, Interesting that you have been to see the car I referred to above.I picked up the GU reg number it shows in the photo on the Lexus Used web page and many ex Lexus and Toyota GB cars have this .Presumably its a Guildford area number so could be used by local dealer as well . Odd the pic shows that number yet car displays a private plate if the pic was taken after it came back as a px. Be surprised if it makes £100k used! A J.
  2. Dont agree. Never meant to be a full 4 seater. Boot is more useful than reviewers who have done no more than take a quick glance state, and for touring or major shopping expeditions the rear seats provide plenty of additional space. We have no problem fitting in luggage and our retriever dog on the rear seat(heavily protected by sheeting!).If required there is easily enough room for young children.Compare it one of its obvious rivals, the A M Vantage ,this has no rear seats so very little space . The people who buy these cars are not that concerned about lack of rear legroom. A J.
  3. I agree with you Brian. No reason to think it will age badly as a design. In fact, some petrolhead pals have recently told me they think the car looks as fresh now as when it was first released. Good review. A J.
  4. Excellent detective work Brian. Yes,may well solve the original posters issue. A J.
  5. One might assume the more powerful of the two will out perform the factory strut but its a buy it and see scenario.Personally,I have no issue with the current set up and wont fit non Lexus items unless absolutely necessary. One other point.Even if the more powerful strut actually lifts the bootlid open wider it will also need a stronger shove to shut it . A J.
  6. eightk, Have you seen the 70 plate on Lexus main used list. Maybe ex Lexus HQ,looking at the number plate. A J.
  7. I have never considered this annoying as all of the specialist/performance cars I have owned (Porsche,BMW etc) have been similar. A J.
  8. Congratulations. Welcome to a rather small group but you will enjoy ownership. Any pics yet? A J.
  9. Good luck. Second possible option. I know some dealers have a convertible demo car but have not yet advertised them.Maybe an hour spent ringing the sales managers of a few may uncover one they will deal on. A J.
  10. If that were me,I would buy a Coupe now and get some use out of it .If I still hankered after a Convertible I would study the main dealer used site and be ready to act when one comes up. No way would I ever wait a year after ordering. All that time wasted driving something else you had decided to move on. Just my two penny worth! A J.
  11. Excellent. That car is exactly the same spec as mine other than my car is white and was registered nearer the end of 2018 on a 68 plate. You will love it. A J.
  12. Presumably your dealer can give as accurate a guess as anybody .With all this parts shortage stuff going on I asked my dealer about Lexus deliveries generally and was told that they are affected but not nearly as badly as other makes. I know all UK LC deliveries are now built to order rather than dealers just getting them for stock. Its possible,as the LC is less mainstream ,that delivery could be quicker than the NX etc. There were 2 ex demo ,low mileage convertibles on the Lexus website last week but both sold very quickly. A J.
  13. My LC does not have HUD and I wondered if I would miss it as its been in most of our BMWs but to be fair I havent even thought about it. I really think that the experience of owning the LC will outweigh its shortcomings which get highlighted,eg trackpad. These are pretty minor for me and easy to get used to.I said earlier about the quality of the materials etc and this becomes more apparent when you get into another car having lived with the LC.This is why I was surprised by your findings of one of the demo cars having damaged/worn trim.My car has no signs of any of this. Looking forward to reading what you decide. A J.
  14. First time I have read anywhere the sound of a V8 being just noise! Very surprised.
  15. The second thing you will notice, after its stunning looks,is the quality of all the materials and fit and finish. I had a 4 day demo of the Hybrid as it was all my nearest dealer had and was very impressed, coming from a new M2 Competition. I attempted to complete a deal but very close was not close enough. However,I secured a demo same week of a V8 ,which had been my original aim and that was it. The V6 in the hybrid is fine but the V8 elevates the experience both in terms of torque/performance and unmistakable sound.I have maintained about 30 mpg in the 2 years I have owned it. These are special cars. Look forward to your update. A J.
  16. As a matter of interest Linas.Where can you go and get a 2 year old LC500 in the UK for £50k and 12k miles?Thats a 2020 model.More like late 60s or above. A J.
  17. Seriously, they are so easy to clean and the finish is extremely smooth.Mine are very regularly polished by me and therefore easy to keep looking mint. A J.
  18. Are those cars in the pics at main dealers? Be surprised. They are very susceptible to damage but lovely wheels and a joy to clean! A J.
  19. They are 21 inch wheels, standard on the Sport and Sport Plus. I am biased, original finish is the best. Dealers advised me that most wheels which have been recoated in a different finish have been damaged and there are few specialists who will or can return to factory finish. A J.
  20. Mike, Is your car a 2019 registration as per your detail as it will still be under the original factory warranty and Relax will not apply.Strange that the App you show refers to Relax next to your repair. A J.
  21. Thats a very interesting one Martin and great that the dealer found it. You got me straining my ears for that yesterday but thankfully I couldnt detect it so went back to listening to the new Byson Family album through the Mark Levinson! A J.
  22. Update on my situation. I didnt receive any documentation so contacted Lexus Customer Service. They were very helpful and immediately confirmed that they had details of my recent service but would investigate why I had not had an e mail. The guy called back the same day to say they had a system issue relating to my change of registration number (2years ago).Whilst they cannot retrospectively issue the standard e mail he said his e mail to me would confirm that Lexus have my car registered for Relax and that any dealer will instantly see this if a claim needed to be made.He apologised and to my surprise referred to all the Toyota and Lexus cars I have owned right back to my 2.8 Supra in the 1980s.I didnt know Toyota kept such records. On Johns post above,I think he is appearing somewhat negative.Agreed, until a claims trail is established nobody knows how Toyota will assess each situation but rightly or wrongly I believe Toyota do not want to tarnish an excellent history of warranty response .They have removed the extra 2 years factory warranty on new Toyota cars I accept but no manufacturers cover wear and tear .Of course,Lexus never got the 5 year warranty! All of my Porsche cars had the official extended warranty at huge cost but they are incredibly strict and charge to check everything before agreeing to cover or deal with a claim, even down to oem battery and tyres etc. Agreed, any members having claims experience ,good or bad, should report back. A J.
  23. Thankyou for that info. When mine arrives I too will print it for the cars history file. A J.
  24. Thanks for the replies.I will give it a few more days and then contact Lexus Customer Service if necessary. The dealer was confident I would receive a document as there is no other reference on their service receipt and Health Check. A J.
