By the way, I have had two dark blue metalic cars (a Mondeo & E class Merc) both looked the dogs doo dahs in the showroom or with the sun shining on them but on a cloudy dull day or if they were not spotless they looked complete pants, horrible, trust me, don't buy the dark metallic blue you will regret it.

If you lived in or around London, trust me, you would know EXACTLY when and where the congestion zone is in force, fair play to them, they suspended it over Christmas & New Year and this was well advertised on local radio and again when the charges were to start again on the 4th of Jan. If you went anywhere for the first time you would check the cost and how to pay so you all should be doing the same when you come to London. Before you ask I can't stand Ken Livingstone but the congetion charge is fantastic for keeping all those Merc and BMW drivers out of London who think that getting a tube or bus is beneath them, roll on the £8 a day charge.

Got a full tank when I got mine new in August, also got a full tank when I went for the brake re-call, I read a thread on here (can't remember who) that they'd heard a rumour you would get a tank full went you took your car in for the mod so I ran mine to less than a quater just in case....and it paid off!

Is it just me or does the rear of the RX attract more dirt, salt and spray (with the exeption of lorries etc.) than any other vehicle on the road. Mine started clean before this week of bad weather and now the back is absolutly filthy, it looks beige with all the muck and salt on it (it should be black), haven't seen any other cars on the road this bad. My mates got a RAV 4 and it's no where near as bad. Just wondered anyway. Roger.

I still think you have grounds for rejecting the car, there's a guy who contributes to this forum from "What Car" mag, maybe worth PM (ing) him. Anybody else have any views? Roger

THREE complete panels to be resprayed! You have far and away more than enough grounds to reject the car. Have a look at "What Car" web site, it tells you how. There is no way you should be accepting having a third of a £30000+ new car re-sprayed.

Mike, I had a noise/squeak coming from the rear when driving which was driving me nuts, I too thought it was the shelf (which it wasn't). I finally tracked it to the rear seat armrest, when in the up position it was creaking as it rubbed against the adjoining seats, I simply lowered the armrest and no more squeaking! This may or maynot be your problem but as you did so much work on the lurching gearbox I thought I at least had to try and help. Regards Roger.

Have a look at the steering wheel, still badged as a Toyota! Wouldn't touch them wuth a barge pole.

Seen on the back of an original mini a couple ot weeks ago...... 100% BMW FREE Superb, pity the roads ain't!!!

Had mine done at Woodford over Christmas, same standard of service, clean car, full tank and the Champers. Marvellous! A weekly recall would be great :)
