  1. I think he meant the level was a little high after the service (a bit too much put back in, or not allowed to fully drain). If on the other hand, it was at a normal level after the service and then later on it raised due to fuel contamination, then yes that would be of concern.
  2. Still waiting to hear about a plate for our ES. They've been targeted too. Already a couple on here.
  3. If I understand m4a correctly, it's just a container file. The quality of the music inside depends on the codec used. Could be lossy aac or lossless ALAC...etc. 500mb is about right for an 18 track full cd that has complex music. Don't expect much lower than 400mb per full cd for FLAC. From experience car can take 64gb stick. Not sure of the format, used it as is out of box. If I'm not mistaken it was exFAT32. That would hold around 130ish full cds.
  4. Only problem with WAV is size. There used to be a problem with not being able to tag the metadata (artist, album, genre...etc.) to it, but now you can. I would go for FLAC if you have tons of CDs, saves you about 1/2 and in a car environment you won't notice the difference. As for MP3s, you will notice the difference especially if it's being ripped to 128kbps. Although in a car environment a high quality VBR rip or 320kbps CBR may be ok.
  5. Depends on which format "media player" ripped the songs to. If, WAV files, then it should be no different than popping in the CD. On the other hand if it's to MP3, you will be disappointed. The third format that windows media does is WMA, which is somewhere in between WAV and MP3.
  6. I would recommend audacity (freeware) to copy all your cds to flac. See here https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/flac_export_options.html
  7. I feel your pain. Nothing quite like a cd, especially when compared to your run of the mill mp3 files. Good news is our head unit can read lossless audio files. I would recommend ripping your cds to FLAC files.
  8. Yes there is a slight whiff of petrol, not just in lexus direct injected engines. It's a characteristic of these engines. If you do only short journeys, with the engine not really coming up to operating temperature, smell will be worse.
  9. So what is the benefit of the protected no claims cover, especially as that pushes up the cost considerably? Are we chumps for buying the extra cover? Anyone else like to chime in on this?
  10. Given that the scammers knew about her recent correspondence with HMRC, she should secure her email account. Emails are frequently hacked, and left unmolested for such occasions. A big money transfer deal relating to real estate or some other big purchase. They scan the hacked emails and find a money situation where they can insinuate themselves with insider knowledge.
  11. They are not, and neither is the wireless pad if you have it in there.
  12. Even without the half and half cleaning it was obvious, and EW!
  13. That's an incredible sum! What, are they replacing the whole dashboard?!
  14. Have had two android phones connected to mine; a really old (8 year old) and a more recent android offering. IIRC the old one was on Android 7 (Sony Xperia Z5 premium) and the new one on 13 (Google Pixel 7a). Neither have given me connect/disconnect issues. I would recommend you first try having the car forget your phone, and delete that pairing on your phone too. Then start the pairing from scratch. If it persists, then try another phone if you have one to test with. If at that point it still persists, it's dealer time. Otherwise my bet is on the phone being the problem.
  15. Is this specific to those two groups (i.e. Marshall and Eagle) or does affect the wider lexus dealerships? Ours up here is a vantage group lexus dealership for example.
  16. Have you allowed OTA map and other updates on your system? It's off by default.
  17. Found this https://stereoupgrade.com/how-to-fix-apple-carplay-black-screen/
  18. I'm not seeing the video unfortunately. Anyone else see it? In any case, first I've heard of this one. Even checked the US forums. Lots of IS battery change dead screen threads, but no ES.
  19. Sounds like it may be iphone/carplay specific. Did yours come from factory with carplay, or was it one of those lexus add on kits later?
  20. Or some insurers have this get out of jail free card included in the loss/damage exclusions section: "Loss of or damage caused by the unauthorised, and/or malicious access to computer system(s) or electronic components and systems, resulting in any reprogramming of software, introduction of malware, codes or viruses with the intention or effect to cause such systems to stop, fail or function otherwise than is intended by the Vehicle Manufacturer." which is ridiculous. But, there's no way for them to prove it once the car is gone and remains unrecovered. That is unless you hand them CCTV coverage of the theft, or the car is recovered and the CANBUS attack is confirmed. From my reading looks like the won't pay out for repair or replacement if the car is stolen by the CANBUS method. Someone please correct me.
  21. I've just forwarded the news to our local dealer in Preston. If each one of you makes sure the other dealers hear about the Lexus Lincoln theft, maybe they'll get off their collective behinds and bug HQ more effectively than we could.
  22. Excellent idea. Emails can be hidden away and ignored, bur bad publicity via social media isn't something they can shrug off easily.
  23. Given the age of the car, why is this not under warranty, or at least the extended relax warranty?
  24. Just used their recall checker for my 2021, doesn't seem to be included
