  1. Thanks for the details. That's actually a pretty reasonable quote given what theses systems typically go for online.
  2. Thanks for the recommendation. Also, thinking of a DIY install. How costly was the professional install, if you don't mind me asking? I assume they went the attic eaves route? Sorry to hear your offer fell through. Good luck with the continued hunt. We were also looking for a bungalow, but after a long search settled for a two story new build.
  3. I've seen 3 in total up here in Lancashire since June last year. Sunlit green, silver and grey ones. I see a lot more UX, RX and NXs in comparison. SUVs are the current choice du jour. None of them were taxis as far as I could see either 😛
  4. DIY or installer? We're moving into a new house soonish and have been looking at options. Although I did find a builder that builds garages where you can actually park in, still considering camera options for the outside. Inside will be covered by a wired motion detection/ingress system with dial out notification. Would appreciate your recommendations.
  5. Supermarkets not passing on lower fuel price - RAC can't say I'm surprised
  6. Repairable, but requires some skill and know how. From the look of it, an underlying patch glued in to hold things together and some mild coloring and texturing to blend. Like this:
  7. Since the gauges actually work, and since getting a spare one seems to be nigh on impossible, wouldn't just wiring up some LEDs in the back to an ignition live feed to provide the needed backlighting work?
  8. They've added another digit in the newer models, but only in the infotainment system. I've seen 199.9MPG in mine after fill-up (I've got it to reset automatically at fill-up) going downhill before the engine kicks in.
  9. I was surprised how much water my ES A/C makes compared to my previous non hybrids. I wonder if it's a characteristic of the all electric A/C system.
  10. Probably this https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-petrol-fuel-system-cleaner/
  11. I second that, the ones I had tried were pretty rubbish.
  12. Current UK price for X is not 71k. It's 102k for the cheapest with no add ons. I'm not quoting you 6 year old prices. Tesla UK are not even showing a price at the moment, even if you go through the ordering process, prices from google https://g.co/kgs/HmPLHZ
  13. I seem to have confused Malc. Here's the maths breakdown. ES- model X = £80k (price range £30-40k vs £110-120k) 428 miles (the aforementioned Scotland trip) costs £67 in ES @£2/L and zero in the X £80k/£67 = break even trip numbers mentioned above multiply by 428 an you get the break even miles I now, I'm a nerd 🤷‍♂️
  14. The price differential similar to the calculation above but to a model X with free SC charging instead of a 3 would be.... drum roll please... 1194 of the above mentioned Scotland trips at current fuel prices to break even. 1592 trips at pre-war prices. In miles if one prefers 511k and 681k miles respectively.
  15. I can give you a better estimate for a remarkably similar trip I just did on Wednesday: Lancashire to Dundee, back through Fife. Round trip was 533.1 miles at 58.2MPG (not the best I've squeezed out of this ES, but there was some twisty fun had 👌). Full tank before departure, 1/4 tank left at return, it took 41.6L at same local/pump on return. Extrapolating to your trip that would be £67 done in mine at £2/L. That's a £39 differential for that trip compared to what Chris estimated his energy would cost. Price difference between mine and the long range model 3 I test drove and was considering is about 25K, or about 641 similar trips to break even at current ridiculous petrol prices, and closer to 1121 trips at petrol prices pre-war. Don't get me wrong, I like EVs. We have a 2017/18 model S, it fits my dad's lifestyle. It just doesn't fit mine or dare I say the majority of people's.
  16. Here's what that section looks like on google street view...along with the approach. Link to the street view below too. There's wasn't a third lane for him to be pushed over if that's what you mean? Unless you mean the white hatchback behind the motor-home? If the latter he was towing that vehicle behind him. https://www.google.com/maps/@53.8538635,-2.1912478,3a,75y,300.17h,88.26t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1smOHm1JwVQG_mhVAXSCaf2w!2e0!7i16384!8i8192
  17. Thanks Len. Yes planned on keeping the original unedited. Just too big to upload @ 590Mb per file.
  18. You assume correctly. Thank you for the link Herbs and all for responding. I haven't figured out video editing yet, files are too big and long. Next on my to do list. In the meantime 3 image captures of it. First showing me heading to the left hand lane, he's further back but remaining in the right, and the first of many signs. Second is him mid-overtake mid-roundabout and yet another painted lane sign. Third is culmination of his stupidity.
  19. How does one exactly report an incident without accident/contact? I have such an incident saved from mine. Moron in a mobile home, pulling a car, could not read/comprehend the 6! signs telling him that both lanes leading into a roundabout will exit from said roundabout to the M65. 5 of those signs were on the floor and one big RED one on approach. That's not counting the usual giant blue signs telling you which lanes go where. Said moron stayed in right hand lane overtaking me. I deliberately kept well under the limit when he stayed right, as I could tell he was about to do something stupidly dangerous, allowing him to overtake. He didn't bother finishing the overtake but barrelled from the right hand lane in the roundabout to my left hand lane while exiting, forcing me to slam on the brakes coming to a complete stop in the roundabout.
  20. Exactly what I've reported too! I've found it peaks around the 250-300 mile mark.
  21. You covered my guess by lubricating the rubber. Have you tried the manual sun shade, does closing or opening that make any difference? Is the noise at all temperature sensitive? Given how quiet the car is it would drive me nuts too.
  22. Had the option to add it to my last service. Lexus Preston charge £69. Done online during the prior day check in process for service. £150 is ridiculous.
  23. Can answer one of those. CC will not hold your speed going downhill.
