  1. There is always the Lexus dealer network but if you would like an options? I have been told about a guy called Lexusman and he is apparently good, knowledgeable and fair. He deals principly with supply and repair of SC430's and he is in Gloucester, your county, so he may be worth the trip if you have further problems and need a recommendation.
  2. Yes confusing how it works, havnt tried it yet but it's worth a try!
  3. Yes guys, I suppose you are right, an owner needs to inform their insurance company of any modification from standard spec or they would probably have a legal right to disallow any claim. I am not looking forward to that conversation as it could potentially be a long list! Although there should be some kind of common sense approach to modifications which do not have a significant impact on performance or cost. For example brake and lighting upgrades will improve safety and may stop an insurer having an accident and potential claim. Should I make that call now or do I stay stum? 🤐 me thinks!
  4. It appears that there are different types and thicknesses of spaces but little information out there about the right thickness or best ones (or even adequate ones!)
  5. Hi Neil Thanks for your reply and it gives me confidence that I made the right choice. Yes I contemplated putting it onto 19's because of how it would improve handling but because of the appalling roads and speed humps up here it would compromise the comfort too much. I am considering some spacers for the rear wheels to bring them out and fill the arches better. I wonder if anyone has any experience of using them?
  6. I have just put two new rear tyres fitted to the back of my SC430. Winter is upon us and we had a fair dusting of snow today. I was recommended to stay on 18's and the same tyres. I wonder what other people run on and how prices compare in other places?
  7. Blimy.....that was a big poke in the eye for any gay members! 😱
  8. Yes it looks great with the ivory interior...but I'm biased! 🤣
  9. Hi Neil All that techy stuff sounds brilliant, right up to the point you introduced the cost of these things! 🤣
  10. Thanks Stewart but I am going to have to wait as I am wanting EBC to match the fronts. it was just to make others aware of the poor stock situation out there in customer land!
  11. Hi Richard Some time has passed since your last post about the potential of investing in the production of lenses for SC430. I think they would look brilliant on my silver SC! Hopefully in that time much more SC's are now owned by devoted followers who would express interest in any products you produce. If you have got anything of interest to us, please let us know. Thanks 🙂
  12. Thanks Neil, I've had a good read but it still looks a bit involved for me! I could not handle the warning chime going off constantly so I will start looking for someone in this neck of the woods who can help me with this one! Thanks to all suggestions and help 👍
  13. Thanks Colin but that sounds much more difficult than I thought it would be! It would probably take someone with much more automotive electrical experience to understand what is required than I have.
  14. I have just seen a convertible Merc with front and rear side windows down in true coupe fashion. I believe it is possible to do this on the SC430 and I think it would look even better without the extra rear quater light windows the Merc has at the back. Anybody know how to do this and could talk me through the process?
  15. I have been impressed with the upgrade on my front brake so much that I decided to do a full overhall of the rears. Despite trying it would appear that there is no stock of these discs and pads out there, EBC are showing minus 2 in stock (how does that work?) and have said it could be a long time before they get any stock in. Please be aware that stock out there may currently be non existent for some items and it would pay to source parts early for any job you are intending to do!
  16. I think what Ged may be alluding to is "how do you know the light is staying on, as it has a switch to turn it off when the boot is closed! 💡 Is that right mate? Ant
  17. Last week my ns mirror stopped dipping down when reverse was selected but with some adjusting in every direction to full extent it sprang back to life! 👍 Looks like a possible cure has been found for these mirror problems, although it may be only a temporary fix. 🤞 Ant
  18. I'm not sure either but I followed recommendations, bought them from ebay and they fitted well, worked instantly so that was win win in my book!
  19. Hi Las Palmas Yes they are quite clinical and modern and certainly not to everyone's taste but I have had approval from my other half mind you she is 15 years younger than me...lol!
  20. Just replaced the interior lights and what a difference! I used reverse polarity bulbs as I have read about problems on the Internet people have experienced if not used.
  21. Hi Jim Your car sounds beautiful, great colour combination and I sincerely hope you can continue to enjoy it for some time. You are fortunate to get such a perfect car, I have a list of jobs as long as a toilet roll with entries vying for position. I hope to get it the best it can be. Do you have any pics and have you seen any more SC's in your area? Anthony
  22. Yes, that kind of money could buy a late model SC430, full lexus service history, low mileage, beautiful condition....well most of those things because main dealers are now retailing that spec of car for a fortune! You need to get one bought it would make a excellent partner for your LS400.
  23. There s this one for sale but at 25k it's much to rich for my blood!
  24. This gives some clarity to the range.
