  1. A quick calculation tells me then: 477HP * 0.034 ethanol = 16HP and that's if fuel is the same 95/97/98/99. But what if we take 97-99 octanes with no ethanol comparing to 95 with ethanol? I bet easy 20-30HP in total. Just to think about some people paying stupid money to upgrade 5-10HP by changing exhaust, remap etc Here 60 litres * 1.99(98) comparing to 60 litres * 1.91 (95)= £4.8 on each fuel tank (average). For me is a no-brainer. Standard 95 is so expensive that soon if we have 95 for £9.91 and 98 for £9.99 are you still going to save this few pence on fuel just because you can run on it?
  2. We’ll pop up hood fully activated so that’s £3850 if you want new parts and error erasing through the dealer. Additionally front bumper + grill + logo + both headlights and LEDs (you cannot see on pictures but all of them had some cracks etc) + few plastic and metal covers. Bonnet and hinges repaired. Simple repair just plug & play. Problem was to find expensive parts outside dealership.
  3. Ok so ATF changed. 2.5l drained. It looked quite dark but could see through it when on finger 🙂 Technician from Osaka Newport said they had seen much worse in the past. On my way to Swansea I noticed a difference. Transmission does not hesitate now as it did before from time to time. I mean there was nothing wrong with it but in normal mode sometimes I got it “thinking” which gear to select. I haven’t noticed that now. Just pulls and knows better which gear to offer. Same around town and little bit smoother. In my opinion it is well worth doing it. I do it in every car around 60k miles so here same story. Next one will be around 120k if I keep it that long. Few pictures below so you can see old oil and fresh blood 🩸 injection 😉
  4. I have an idea. How about installing a mesh under the vent? A mesh with similar density like you have in iphones ear speakers. this link is just an example: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271947660219?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=qCxcw1hORrG&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=Tjxq2FOyR2-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY obviously we need much larger sheet to cut it out to measure. I think that would work perfectly. enough for hot air to blow out and dense enough to stop water going through.
  5. MPG in normal cruise around city and on motorway is same. fuel tank I think same too as I always put 55-57 litres in each when nearly empty.
  6. Hi, this one I bought 3 months ago on Copart auction. 56000 miles on it, just after 6 years service in Lexus so all good to go. It is cat N, pop up hood was activated. I changed front bumper, headlights and grill for brand new ones + pop up hood equipment for a used one from Poland. car drives like new, very smooth and suspension is much softer than in RCF. That makes it a better car around town and potholes. Funny thing is despite being 208HP car it takes same or very similar amount of petrol as RCF… I would not believe if I hadn’t tried it on my own. All in al very good car and I hope it lasts as long as possible. The idea was to get bulletproof non turbo, non electric vehicle with some decent spec 🙂
  7. I have got 96Y at the front and 100y at the back both saying “extra load”. I only use premium fuels either v-power or esso one. Never happened to use 95 so far. Same history with is250 only premium fuel.
  8. Thanks guys 😜 I have done 8500 miles since end of September. I should manage easy 10000/year. Honestly I am always looking on the market for something “special” but so far nothing seems to tick more boxes in this price range. This engine is a gem. I have just changed all 4 tyres to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Front brake discs and pads (brembo discs and apec pads) already purchased waiting in my garage. Also this week I’m going to Osaka Newport to change gearbox oil. I like this car so much that I think it deserves this little extra (Lexus dealer does not change oil there 😕 during routine maintenance as far as I know). And finally one more thing. Because recently I bought is250 2015 F sport matador red for my wife I am more than happy she drives RCF now too! Because everything looks and works the same way she has no more excuses to give me a lift when I want few beers in this lovely weather. 🍺🍺🍺
  9. Hi, I have owned it for nearly a year but never really bothered to take few shots. So today, sunny weather and a view from Mumbles / Castellamare. My car is stock and this is how I intend to keep it except wheels. When the time for refurbishment comes I am going to change the alloys colour for something like copper or bronze.
  10. Not a single airbag deployed? To me it looks like insurance fraud. Car on parking deliberately hit. I have seen many like these and after repair obviously engine or expensive gearbox fault pops out. But I can be wrong 🙂
  11. We recently decided to go for one more buy to let and similar story as you described Rob. We have to put 30% deposit soon there and I said to my wife: I am happy to go forward with this mortgage but remember if things go really wrong then my RCF is at the very end of things to sell 🙂
  12. Thanks guys for showing me the difference between earlier and later cars. I mentioned about supercharger but personally I took completely different route few weeks ago and… purchased is250 F sport 2015 in red :))) Just to have something 4-d to take kids to school ha Am I becoming Lexus fanboy?
  13. Similar to Birma's car for £42k. Lovely car, no doubt but again for £16k difference I would mod RCF like hell including supercharger pack...
  14. Can I ask what drives you to a car for £36k when you can have one for £26k in similar spec, still manufacturer warranty etc? Only difference seems to be a mileage but for £10k? I mean if you or someone could explain this to me I would be thankful. I talk about blue one for £26k.
  15. Is fuel tank capacity really 66l? The most I could fill in in last 6 months of ownership was 58.5l (basically nothing left according to computer reading). Where in Volvo S60 tank is 67.5l I can regularly fill up to 65-66l when empty. Maybe I have got 60l tank only? How can I check that without stopping on motorway with no fuel left?:)
  16. Hi, today I went from Swansea to Huddersfield. 260 miles one way. 77mph cruise control most of the time. 33MPG on computer. I put petrol in Huddersfield and 36 litres to make it full again. What a wonderful car! I would never believe it if I hadn't tried it. Thank you Lexus:)
  17. It does not have influence until people realise what it is. Like LSD/non LSD. It is just a matter of time people will pay extra £££ for it in older cars.
  18. I personally always use v-Power for my RCF or Esso premium. For savings I have got Volvo S60 d4 (800 miles on 67.5l tank).
  19. Hi, I have been wondering if you have same issue. When it is raining I cannot keep cruise control on. I switch it on but it turns off immediately. I called Lexus and they said it is a safety feature. In my Volvo S60 there is no problem whatever the weather is. In a GT car like RCF few drops of water and it is done. Isn't it too sensitive? It is so annoying not to have such a basic feature.
  20. Hi, I have done just over 1200 miles in it. Lovely car, no issues and suits me perfectly. Today in the morning a message appeared that I need to contact Lexus Chester about engine oil change. I went into settings/ maintenance and engine icon is orange. It says I should change oil now. Is that possible they did not do that on 60k service a month ago? It just looks strange. I have no issues paying for that if that is the schedule BUT what was 60k service for if oil not changed? I always change engine oil in any car during EVERY period service... Any thoughts?
