  1. I had dark rose on the Rx450 I’ve just traded in and loved it. Not too bright and not too dark. I’ve gone for red interior on the NX450h I’ve just taken delivery of and glad that there is some black contrast mixed in with the seats otherwise it may have been a touch too bright for my liking. looking at @Bish1402 pictures above, it does look to be a very similar shade, if not the same, as in my RX and also benefits from the dark rose leather on the interior door panels, which worked really well in the RX👍
  2. The sales guy that we have dealt with at Lexus Ipswich called me a few days before the 1st Aug and said “unless you really want to come here & pick it up I will deliver it on your driveway before 10.30am on the 1st. We can then go through everything in the comfort & peace of your driveway without the fear of any interruptions etc” He did apologise though saying that although the fuel tank will be full to the brim the battery range will be depleted a little.
  3. TBH I don’t think the hybrid score is too helpful at times since the way you drive any car does sometimes depend on the traffic conditions. It is not always possible, for instance, to accelerate smoothly at busy roundabouts unless you want to get side swiped by another car coming round at a certain speed. However, my miles/KWh is showing 2.7 & I’m happy with the 43miles on electric range given the type of roads & traffic conditions that it has been done on.
  4. I’m hoping mine will improve Ken when we try it going in a different direction from home. All those roundabouts, some of which you need to quickly accelerate in to a gap when one appears, will no doubt adversely affect the range just as they did fuel consumption in all of our previous cars.
  5. Just over 1 week in and I’m seeing 43 miles of electric only range. Every journey we’ve done so far requires us to join a dual carriageway 2 miles after leaving home with a series of roundabouts after the first 7 miles so happy with the range keeping in mind that I cruise at 65-70 on the dual carriageway. Have a 400 mile round trip to do this coming weekend so looking forward to seeing the consumption for that.
  6. No interference on DAB from my rear camera installation 👍 It does sound as though they just can’t be @rsed to do it.
  7. @Harrier Man, the Lexus response lacks as much logic as the operation of some of the settings do. So, if I want to instantly see if drive is using battery at low speeds when in HV mode I have to touch the screen, negating the “touch, touch, touch” response and instead spend more time asking the car to show me something (assuming that it understands), during which time driving conditions may have changed. Bizarre, sometimes the simplest of things work for the better. Just like having the stalk to operate cruise control rather than having to look at the HUD to see which button is being operated by your thumb on the multi function switch pad. So many good things about the car but a shame, IMO, that they’ve gone over the top with gimmicky technology
  8. Thanks @NiCoRe, that’s why I can’t figure out how to do it 👍 Sometimes I do think that new technology takes a backward step.
  9. On my previous RX it was possible to split the screen so that it showed the SatNav on 2/3rds and other info like radio stations, energy monitor, favourite phone numbers etc on the other 1/3rd. Has anyone found a way of doing this on the 2022 NX screen?
  10. Yes, it was £750 when I ordered back in Jan, conditional on taking finance. I always take the discount/deposit allowance then settle the finance after making 1 monthly payment. Finance companies can no longer charge early settlement or interest penalties under U.K. consumer law
  11. I wouldn’t really say that my FSport has a silver lip, certainly not a shiny one like the RX FSport had. It is more of a lighter version of the body colour
  12. After a few more days of driving the 450h and checking the recordings I can confirm that the OBD2 connector for the Thinkware camera works perfectly. Ignition on and the camera starts up in to normal continuous recording mode, ignition off and it goes in to parking mode.
  13. We enquired about the 350 early Jan and was also told July. Then, when we were ready to place an order, still in Jan but undecided which model 350 or 450, (although dealer did not know this, he thought it was only the 350 we was interested in) dealer said “unfortunately the July date I gave to you 2 weeks ago is now Sept. When we picked up the 450 on Monday last week he told us that if we had ordered the 350 late Jan like we were thinking we would now be looking at Dec delivery.
  14. Excellent @Marlinleg, would you dealer not fix the p/ex price at the time of ordering or did you decide to wait until delivery?
  15. I get that a well. However I think I’ve figured out why. If the phone is in the house and I’m out doing anything to the inside of the car that’s when the message appears on the phone “one of your doors may not be shut properly” or something like that
  16. For anyone who is interested, these are the pins in the Thinkware ODB2 connector that are connected to the car OBD socket Pins 4,5,6,8,12,14,15,16
  17. Of the installation? I don’t I’m afraid, never gave it a thought 🙄 It’s not really difficult, easier than it was on the RX, just that centre tailgate trim that was a pain in the wotsit
  18. BTW, I always attach the front camera to the flat part of the plastic cover behind the mirror. Keeps it out of the way & still record fine
  19. Front & rear cameras both fitted, no wires visible except for attachments to cameras and the ODB2 connector, as far as I have tested it, works fine. Ignition on and continuous recording & gps both start, ignition off and camera goes in to parking mode after a short period. Just need to test it properly now during a reasonable drive.
  20. Ran the wire to the rear camera yesterday, ODB connector arrived this morning so will be trying that later this afternoon. Getting the wore through to the rear was easier than I thought it would be, helped by having already done it once on the RX but the obstacles in the NX were easier to get around. Tips as follows, you will need some plastic trim removers including the ones to ease off those pesky Xmas tree fasteners: Start from the rear of the vehicle with the aim of getting the wire to the front. The rear camera connector is too bulky to try to take from front to rear. I ran it down the passenger side just in case the odb connector didn’t work f I needed to access the fuse box, but I guess it will be similar on the drivers side. Release the top of the rear side upper 3/4 panel Pop off the top middle section tailgate trim. This was the worse part of the job, it was really tight and not as solid a plastic trim panel as in the RX, Pull off the rubber trim for as far as needed and run the cable in the gap between headliner and tailgate surround leaving enough to connect through the plastic panel to the camera. push back on the rubber trim. The cable will loop around the metal and rubber but I cut a small 5mm bit out of the bottom of the rubber trim to help it not flatten or rub on the metal press back on the plastic rear panel. The wire will trap inside it ok Touch the wire along the top edge of the 3/4 panel trim pull off the rubber on the rear passenger door You will see that there is enough gap to run the wire down to the plastic sill trim. Pull off the plastic sill trims front & rear. Run the wire along the rest of the cables covered by the sill trims It gets tricky by the joining piece between the sill trims but gently lifting the edge with the one off plastic trim tools will allow the wire to be tucked in the space under Take off the trim front of the front sill trim and the side dash trim. You can then run the wire up to the top of the dash and by the A pillar trim Ease back (not off) the A pillar trim from the windscreen side taking care not to pull it off completely. Both front & back of the A pillar trim will need to be eased off. You can then run the wire inside the A pillar trim windscreen side so as not to interfere with the air bag. Then along the top of the windscreen tucked in to the headlining to front camera location. Press back all trim pieces after securing wire where needed to stop it rattling against anything. It all sounds complex but was really pretty easy, just a bit of patience & persuasion needed. Hope this helps.
  21. It was possible to tether to the phone sim on my 2018 model (replaced yesterday) through connected services but it was very hit & miss, I ceased using it after the 1st 12months. Not sure if it is possible on the 2021 model
  22. No noise when manoeuvring on the driveway on the NX we had delivered yesterday other than the chimes from the parking sensors.
  23. Thanks, now sorted👍. It appears that it has taken around 8 hours for the Lexus Link app to make its initial connection to the car. Do you mean once it has loaded & ready or is your request connected to my post surrounding the problem of having to select country every time?
  24. Our 450h+ delivered to the door by dealer at 11.00am today. Not really had a great deal of time to play around with it yet but Forest impressions are: It looks and feels smaller than the dimensions suggest against the outgoing RX450 gen4 where have those nice sized door bins in the RX gone? plastic areas don’t feel of the same quality no folding centre section in the rear seat or realease mechanism from the boot All of the above we knew of course from the initial test drive and good poke around the car. Doesn’t matter really since the wife wanted a smaller car than the RX. For me I’m sorry to see the RX go but as I’m not the main driver I’m not really complaining, the NX is still a really nice car 👍. Hopefully I’ll have the time over the next day or so to play around with the settings and get Lexus Link to connect to the phone rather than having to sit watching the wheel of motion go around and around. 🙄 However, I have found the first thing that has started to annoy me so I hope I can figure out how to overcome this 🤔. Everytime the screen starts up I have to select the language, please tell me that this can be overcome 🙏
