  1. My probs naive question is: WHY do tyre shops hate it so much? Can they just change tyres and that's it?
  2. I had a pretty good experience with soft99's Fusso coat wax, which claims to last la year. And while that may be a bit much, i gotta say the effect is not fully gone after a bit over a year.
  3. I highly reccommend MX Bodyworkx in Rochester (Kent). Matt and Zoe are great.
  4. Beyond wheel alignment, which is a must....For the fronts, replace the lower arm bushings with those of the GSF and if things are too bad on the back, you can fit adjustable camber arms to reduce camber to about just one degree.
  5. When I was in that situation, I just wrote to the dealership asking how much it was and the part number and they sent me both the price and the P/N
  6. Look on ebay for breakers, you may get surprised how much stuff there is in there
  7. Hey sorry i had not seen this. Kaizer is a mechanics garage but If you're in Kent (I see it isnt the case), for bodywork stuff these guys are really good MX Bodyworx https://www.mhbodyworx.co.uk/
  8. Good question actually! 🫠 Any electrician in the room to tell us?
  9. thank you! Two questions on your post: Could it be that this accessory comes with the NOCO genius as standard? I have the 5 and I think if I unscrew the crocodile clips I would be left with the rings at the end, just like the accessory you bought. You did a pretty cool installation there covering the clips but....does it not keep the cover from closing back again?
  10. Amazing it took so long. Updating maps via the mini SD card takes about a minute or so (from the same store).
  11. Ditto. Specially when it's such an important part of people's everyday. I guess they lack the incentives to do better, because what are you going to do? Return the car? You cannot. I have the premium screen and every now and then, while driving and with the map on screen, i see a message at the top of the screen saying "could not be downloaded", which I don't understand nor I know what it refers to. The map version is up to date though, and the bluetooth connected to my phone (and to my lexus link account!) Lexus, as they say in my [other] homeland: Qui t'entengui que et compri 😰
  12. I think I'm not very good at explaining the problem. Or at least what seems a problem for me I have used your own diagram, in case that helps: A (as per your diagram) is correct, and how I understand it should be. B is how it currently is, and that's what I'm trying to say. Again, they all show "outside" and no rotation direction.
  13. Damn @LenT , I didn't include this bit but I will in subsequent emails. @Sundance your diagram addresses my point too: the illustration on the right shows how the tyres on each side are a mirror match of each other, not the same. This is what I try to show in my last illustration: it should be like in B not like in A (and the image you shared is an example of B)
  14. Said I would keep you guys posted and I am: the Michelin UK contact person replied correcting himself: So now the same tyres turn out to be asymmetrical. Fine. I replied asking: if they all show "outside" why does the thread not mirror-match? And I included an illustration to make sure I get the point across, because this starts to look like a manufacturing error in my paranoid mind.
  15. Oh wow, all of these are very insightful points, thank you 🙂
  16. Why do you hate English grammar and orthography?
  17. In principle it should not happen. I would go to the stealership and have the seal changed. So if it happens again, it's on the brand to fix it.
  18. It is a beauty. Should be sold soon. I should get a service plan myself too.
  19. What the hell is this supposed to be about?
  20. Bilt Hamber or Autoglym? I quite like the Autoglym range, but I'm very far from an expert. I have also used some Gtechniq products that tured out to be great.
  21. Cars have increased tyre sizes a lot, often unnecessarily, for the sake of aesthetics in the last two decades. Tyre sizes only seen in supercars are now fitted to Ford Fiestas, which is a bit silly. Glad to see some people still see the value in having wheels that are one size down so you have more rubber cushioning the potholes and bumps. And save money on tyres too. Good luck with the sale.
  22. Well I have replied to the guy who answered with just that. It makes zero sense to label inside and outside if the tyre is really symmetrical. And if it isn't, the thread should not look this way (I'm not a Michelin engineer though)
  23. @TomDickHarri Have you tried Amayama and Megazip? They ship parts from Japan, so as long as you know the PNs (which you seem to know) it should be fine. I bought from them in the past and they're legit. Be mindful the order may come with some customs charge once it enters the UK but it may be worth it if you can't source them around here. 🙂 LS400 is a classic and worth to keep going. Did you ever watch a short-lived comedy show called "Carpoolers" ? they ride an LS400 every day on their way to work....
