Just toying with the idea at the moment mate. I still love the car, but I am doing a lot more distance since I moved last May and I am not the richest guy in the world. Condidering an oil burner, the new Accord diesel perhaps. I think it might bore me to death though. Decision, decisions.

This is a problem that keeps occuring for a lot of people, me included. When is Lexus going to admit that they are selling cars with incorrect tracking or camber settings, or both?

If someone was thinking of selling their IS300, (02 Strath Blue, F/R skirts, Sports Mesh Grill, dash tray, filter, dealer serviced, 16,000 miles), in pretty much mint condition. How much could they expect to get for it A. Private, B. Trade Oh! Also Hi to everyone on the site, I've been working away and taking up golf. Not been here for a while, the old place has had a lick of paint, looks good. :D

Sorry, been away for the weekend. The amount of hassle I have had was a little unexpected, however I certainly do not think it is the norm. There are a lot of issues that Lexus should address with the IS200/ 300, but I think they are getting there, slowly. The treatment when you go to a dealer is fantastic in general. Some dealerships are better than others, but the overall treatment is the same. They really should standardise pricing though, a few pounds different maybe, it is ridiculous at the moment. I love my car just as much now as the day I bought it though, even with all the problems. The hassle does sting a bit, but the gesture from Lexus is quite generous and does help to ease the pain. Of course I do wish that it had all never happened, but seeing as it has I am glad that I chose to buy a Lexus. I honestly do not feel that many manufacturers would have offered me a goodwill gesture like this one. It could be worse.

Oh yeah ! I'm also getting two new front wheels fitted, paid for by the garage that knackered them. :P

I emailed three top guys at Lexus GB, and attached a letter detailing my problems, which include a lot of warranty work, pointless trips to dealers, unnecessary mileage and wasted petrol. With the odd headlight run around thrown in. I explained that after a lot of thought and substantial cash outlay, I should really be receiving a better Lexus experience. They agreed and after a couple of discussions we settled on the body work mods. I was offered either a years extra warranty or a 3 year servicing plan, but I asked about the grill and skirts and they said yes, okay if that is what I would rather have. :winky: BEEZER!! I can email a copy of the letter if your interested, or post it maybe ? When I get my car back I might have something interesting to tell you about soft paint, stone chips and resprays. ;) Watch this space.

I am presently waiting for a call from Lexus Nottingham, to tell me that my car is ready. It is in having a sport grille and front and rear bumper skirts fitted. These are being supplied and fitted f.o.c. courtesy of the very good people at Lexus GB. I have a had a bit of a torrid time since I bought my IS300 last year, so I wrote a letter of complaint. The upshot is I am getting all this Gratis, so definately a bit of faith restored in the company. :D I just can't wait to see it now.

The refurbished alloys that you get fitted under warranty cost £105 +vat at Lexus Nottingham. I know cos I am presently having two fitted, however, the garage that knackered my wheels up when changing the front tyres is paying for them. :D

I bought my car brand new in March last year. It has done 13,000 miles and I just had the front tyres changed, they were badly worn on the inside too. I have not had a knock, or even driven over a large pot hole. Lexus NOTTINGHAM charged me £120 for the privilege of checking my tracking, which they insist was out. I think it has been out since I bought the car, impossible to prove, of course. They are doing it again on Tuesday actually, as it was only just within limits, when they finished. Also the steering wheel is now turned to the left slightly. The wear was the same on the inside of both front tyres, so whatever put the tracking out did it to both sides equally ..... amazing that ! Sorry, no answer to your problem, but I have seen threads about this kind of uneven tyre wear before. I think its ANOTHER IS200/ 300 trait.

If I have nowt on I might venture here, finally meet a few LOC type people perhaps ! So do I order my tickets myself ?

I bought my IS300 in March last year and registered my wife as a second card holder with the roadside assistance thing. Four days ago on her way up to Scotland, from Lincoln, the catalytic converter collapsed on her mangy old escort, about 80 miles south of Glasgow. The RAC came out, took her and the car to a garage and then on to Dundee. Overall she was about 3 hours later than she would have been. Very interesting I hear you say, its just to illustrate that my wife has not paid a penny to Lexus or the RAC,(Yeah okay, I know I've paid loads to Lexus), so I think I'll be renewing when the time comes, you never know whats around the corner. Especially with a crappy, blue oval, second car !! Born in 1996 and this is it's third cat now. It's going next March.
