  1. Hi - what colour is the car and where is it located?
  2. Good Day all - looking to get a new daily - interested in a LS 460 or 600 - any thoughts on what to look for, are any particular models or years that were considered better than others...any advice appreciated.
  3. How did you get on with the Silver 460 - is it the one in Isleworth - I was thinking of going to see it this week - did you go, any thoughts?
  4. I am looking for something to use daily - interested in an SC430 - found a low mileage 2005 one but not sure what values these should go for...really new to the SC430, always admired them and we have an ES300h - but don't know where to start with pricing for an SC. Any advice on pricing and what to look for? furthermore - found this Isuzu dealer who has 2 for sale: Search Used Cars for sale in Great Glen, Leicestershire | Bob Gerard Ltd Any thoughts? Apologies if much of this has already been asked and said before in this and other threads - if so please ignore.
  5. Thanks @Boomer54 - will do, already getting excited about an SC...

  7. Lovely car that in a gorgeous colour - congratulations
  8. One Audi (A4)- never again.....but also had 3 VW Passat's and 1 Golf they were good cars Am I a Dealer - No.
  9. I have a current model 5er (M5) and a current model ES (300h) - both are pre-facelift, it is my first Lexus, but I have had over 60 BMW's and 30 Mercedes - Simply all 3 make great cars. Is one better than the other - depends on your usage scenario and expectations.
  10. SL350, R230, 2004, 60K miles M5, F90, 2019, 8K miles
  11. Daily ES300H Sunny Days Mercedes SL Shopping and Vacations BMW X5 Garage Queen and when one needs a bit of speed BMW M5
  12. I get that its 2.5 4cl hybrid and FWD - but as a daily its really almost perfect But then again, I do have the luxury of other cars in my garage including a full sized SUV, a sports roadster, and a super saloon if the mood takes me...
  13. Checking on howmanyleft - i see there are just over 4000 on the roads in the UK, compared to execs from its rivals that is quite a small number. I have had countless Mercedes and BMW's both of which are fantastic, but I have also been so impressed with the Lexus and wonder why there has been relatively little take up...I think could price be an issue, if the starting price was say £50 - 60K and in and around the offerings of MB and BMW...would it be more successful, I mean do some potential buyers discount it because it seems cheap and thus imagine its a lower class (in terms of family, i.e. more C or 3 Series) or think of it as not as premium in terms of build quality? Just baffled as to why there aren't more on the roads - I really have grown quite fond of my ES...
  14. thanks for the responses gents, I am so enamoured with my es300 that I am tempted by an LS to use for shows - will keep looking perhaps at a 'cheaper' but more used, yet still good example - perhaps a later one too...
  15. not sure if that was said in jest - but to my knowledge, all facebooks ads say 1.0 and 123bhp unless the seller edits those fields specifically (I think)
  16. Afraid to drive it? - is that because it would decrease its value? or that there could be very expensive issues? not sure I follow...it looks nice...but don't want something that needs a lot of work, not scared of the costs per say but the hassle storing it off road whilst works are being done and the time it spends unusable...if that makes any sense hence looking at ready to go cars...
  17. Dear reader, I am looking to put a classic Lexus in my garage alongside my Benz and BMW from yesteryear....came across this...(apologies if this car has been discussed here before)...what do people think? https://www.stonecoldclassics.com/1992-lexus-ls400/ Its a 92 LS400 with 25K miles and looks very clean...but I am no expert on these cars...
  18. I had the convertible itch too as summer approached so picked up a Mercedes SL for the sunnier days...can whole heartedly recommend it as summer companion to the Lexii... So in my garage, Mr Miagi now has a pretty little German girlfriend...
  19. Jealousy...I said similar on another forum - look at the brands in the red list - all luxury brands and seems to me that the voters have a little envy in their votes.... Give them the keys to a BMW or any car on the red list and they wont say no...they may however turn down the keys from the green list. Whilst poor driving is prevalent in all makes of cars, I do think however that Audi A3/S3 are popular with the young crowd and they and VW Golf's are driven like absolute morons - although that of course is a stereotype, not all A3/S3 drivers drive like lunatics, but when I do see lunacy on the roads it is more commonly a youngster in an A3/S3/Golf lately.
  20. If you need the space, the best SUV in my personal experience hands down and what we use for all our family duties, school runs when its our turn, shopping and long trips...is an X5...can't speak highly enough about it, just does everything with no fuss and hasn't cost us anything (touch wood) except servicing and a set of tyres - it's also being quoted higher as a trade in than what we paid for it 3 and a half years ago...
  21. Depends if the dealer guaranteed the price at time of valuation for when your new car came - if not then you carry the burden - if they did then they have guaranteed any price drops during the period of you waiting for your new car...during and after Covid, BMW were guaranteeing some valuations for highly depreciating cars like some of the larger M cars whilst people waited the extra long times for their new cars due to Covid, factory shutdowns, shortage of semi-conductors, wiring looms, war etc... This partly (not entirely) contributed to the higher prices of second hand cars, as they would price in any shortfall on the sale of the car that was traded in, i.e. pass that on to the next buyer of your used car.
  22. I am paying just over £400 for my current model BMW M5 which has over 600 BHP and is 3 times more expensive than my ES which is costing me over £800 with the same company??? Both stored in the same place, same drivers, same NCD, same miles covered, and both with Social Domestic and Commuting cover with the same excess amount. That just doesn't compute, when I asked the agent why they just said "it's down to the underwriters, they set the prices"...???
  23. I hope there is no issues with sharing pictures on this forum - I am new - so please advise if its not cricket... But a week into ownership and I am loving the shape and the interior - it is growing on me daily....loving it more and more each day...
  24. When I collected my car last week I asked the dealer about the wave of thefts in relation to the CAN bus technique - his answer was whilst they were aware of the issue, it only affects CT and RX and they hadn't heard of any cars being stolen outside London - which is wrong on both counts as the list of Lexus models affected is available online easily and its more than just the two that he mentioned (confirmed by this very thread and a discussion with Auto-watch and Scorpion), and the threads on here demonstrate that thefts are occurring outside of the capital...It's one thing doing nothing (corporately) but also being lied to is just not a position the brand should condone especially as that is what will give them a bad image (as per other manufacturers/dealer networks).
  25. Not had my Lexus long (less than a week) so new to these 'features' Wow I didn't know that I was missing out on all this - I never use Cruise Control on my cars - all 4 have their manufacturer's form of adaptive cruise but it never occurs to me to use it I was surprised to read above about the nav directions not being accompanied by muted audio - again not tried yet in the Lexus - does it mute when listening to Carplay and using Apple's navigation, as that's what I use in my other cars as its just easy to tell Siri where you want to go and engage...unfortunate that it wont use the headsup display for the nav if not using the cars nav but the phones instead but a small sacrifice to pay as it gives you fixed camera warnings too.
