  2. Thanks guys for your input. :) Whilst browsing and searching some more, I found this link which seems quite thurough. Will attempt it when its not so :tsktsk: cold in UK!!! http://s4.invisionfree.com/lexusaltezzaclu...p?showtopic=466 Happy 2005! B)
  3. Hi. Just been chatting to Iain Moule at Lexus Croydon, and he was telling me he's seen pics of the new IS He says it will be a 2.5 litre engine (193 BHP I think he said) out THIS September 2005!, with a 2.2 Diesel (160 something BHP) out in 2007 There will also be a 3.5 litre engine as well, with specs starting with the SE equivalent, and a Sport to follow. You will be able to tell it is an IS model, but they have changed the rear lights to a similar style to the Alpha Romeos whereby they are in a "strip" side by side next to each other. This is what I could remember of our conversation, which happened like 2 hours ago! :o All very exciting! Would be good if someone could get some pics posted... Happy 2005 everyone!
  4. Im 24, and in IT as well! Great minds think alike... :mat:
  5. Hmmm. Most useful :) In my old car (A Saxo - yes, I went from a Saxo to an IS200!!!), using BP Ultimate definately did give more MPG. I've only had my Lex a short while yet, and have not run through the existing normal fuel yet, but normally, i'd swear by BP U.:arrrggg-matey: I've also heard that Shell Optimax is also better for MPG. Happy New Year BTW!
  6. What an @r$e. Hope it's not the thing that happens regularly. I'd be well heart broken :yack: Let us know how you get on fixing it up - not sure touch up paint would lend in that well for scratches (better for stone chips really)
  7. HEre's a pic of mine - they are the "standard" 18" wheels you get with the UK Aero kit. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind..._gallery&id=800
  8. A few reasons, but the top 3 have got to be: 1) Reliablility 2) Value for Money 3) Loox :zee: Happy 2005 everyone!
  9. It was an easy choice for me - basing it mainly on all the positive reviews etc. about the car, both from real owners, and the Top Gear car surveys. Considering I was not gonna get a Jag, or the S2000 (expensive insurance), the IS200 was the most obvious choice. Absolutely no regrets so far (even though i've barely had it 48 hours!!!) :D Happy New Year everyone! :luck:

    Here she is!

From the album: My IS200 Sport Navigator + Aero

Mean looking. Front left of the car, showing the front skirting.
  11. Hi Wayne, Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. To be frank, my Girlfriends N reg 106 (with 75k miles) doesn't do it!!! It does seem to be not as bad after about 5 miles of warming up... I'll see if it really bugs me enough to get it sorted under warranty, and perhaps seek your assitance! :winky: Thanks! Derek
  12. Hello all. First query that I can't seem to find answered on the LOC forums... 1) What's the basic procedure in painting the brake calipers? I've noticed weird bits of "wires" coming out of the calipers. Do you need to take it all apart? Is it spray based paint or done using a paintbrush? :iraqi-info-minister: 2) What paint should be used? And where to get from? (I want to make it look like the shiny black or red colour). Thankssssssssssss! (Anyone agree that the default look of the calipers is a bit drab on the car?)
  13. Hi Purvesh, Thanks very much for your reply! Seems that Lex owners are quite a friendly and welcoming bunch! I also dealt with Andrew Fairbairn from Sales - extremely friendly chap (I know that the service dep also has an Andrew there). I've got myself an 02 reg IS200 Sport Aero Sat Nav (with the big 18" wheels :D ) 1) The remote keys work wonders in certain places, and is a real pain at other times - i read some other posts on LOC that things like Mobile masts and wireless TV transmitter things in your house affect it... 2) So this isn't worth speaking to a Lex dealer about? Was going to say "Can I test drive a new/nearly new one", to see if it does the same... I thought that the Sport does have a "Short Shifter"? Or is this something else? :duh: 3) LOL! Luckily I know exactly how to get to Tun Wells Lex! Erm... who's "Colin"? 4) Funnyly enough they actually messed up my name on the order forms, warranty docs etc. (got my names wrong way around...), probably wont forget me in a while too! :P
  14. Just took picked up my first Lexus yesterday from Tunbridge Wells (a very helpful and keen salesman). Have got to say they are just amazing cars :zee: Also like to say that the LOC website is a brilliant source of information - I knew pratically everything about the car before I bought it, so felt that I knew exactly what I wanted. I have, however, also noticed a couple of things that I did not really think to look into: 1) Are the remote keys really that prone to interferance? I am having such random luck with them working... As the car is under the used car warranty, would a new ECU actually fix anything 2) I'm not sure if I am suffering the clutch judder mentioned in looking for used IS200 - perhaps i've not adjusted to the clutch/gears; but its fine in the higher (3-6) gears... 3) Sat Nav disks are soooo expensive!!! Forgot to haggle an update when I bought the car! 4) Anyone thought of doing a consolidated post of some sort for current Servicing prices, LOC discount? I'll be doing one in Easter or so, as i'll be due a 40k service. Anyway, Wish everyone had a lovely Christmas, and to have a prosperous new year :)
