  1. See, not everyone knows this (I know that in Central London they got digi-cams, but not outside of central). :duh: I was tempted to just drive off, but the shock them writing a ticket caught me offguard. They were uniformed, and at first I thought they were policemen. Also, I thought they were just making a note of the time my car was there (i.e. timing my 20 minutes...) :yack:
  2. Happy Birthday Marcus. Hopefully you'll have your car back on the road again as well! :luck: D.
  3. Hi all, Was considering a vent-your-spleen post, but may as well let it be... Basically, today on the way to work, I decided to find a HSBC to pay off a credit card. I was passing through un-familiar territory (Catford), and saw a 20-minute stop box. It was a red-route stop box, no stopping unless between 10am-4pm for maximum 20 minutes loading. It was roughly 2:15pm. I parked there, as I normally would in places like Tooting to pay my Congestion Charge. Crossing the road, I saw that there was hugh queues at the bank, coming outside of the door, so I though I wouldn't bother, and to find another branch. Crossing back over the road I saw 2 uniformed traffic wardens (or policemen?), writing a ticket!!! We caught each other attention and I was asked if it was my car. The rest of the conversation was mainly that as I was not loading/unloading, I was parked illegally. They said they waited 3 minutes (and wrote on the ticket 14:17 - 14:20) to see if the car was loading/unloading. I had already said that I was just popping into the bank, for which I didn't bother in the end due to the queues. They said this basically warrants an instant ticket anyway as I wasn't loading/unloading. Sods law has it, I guess i'm in the wrong... Fine of £100, or £50 if paid in 14 days. But basically, just a warning to everyone out there - Loading bays are apprantly for loading only... Depends how they define "loading" really though IMHO. How are we as motorists meant to keep up with all the detail of every road traffic law? :tsktsk: D.
  4. I'll be getting one from Pro-Lex to test, so i'll let everyone know what its like (do a review kinda thing!) D. :mat:
  5. hmm as suspected ← ... You were one of the first to leave... (Paul that is) ;) -_- <_< :duh:
  6. Thats True, what you cant see is the BIG white letters that say WIERDO ← ROFL! :D
  7. Yo. Yeah, good meet. Really good to put faces to names... and nick-names... Me and ma cuz went and gate-crashed his girlriends BBQ, so wasn't left hungry for the night either! :) Look forward to the next (hopefully London/South-East...) meet. Still considering JAE... Anyway, just got into work. Take a look at the group pic I took. Why cant we upload 1MB images... 750k max? :tsktsk: (Happy now M-Mat?) Got some good videos as well, but not sure how to post them directly here... Laters all. D. B) P.S. Who put up everyones Driver-side wiper blade at the pub???
  8. This is totally mad and chaos peeps. I normally work at Blackfriars, but was working from home today! Sheese. Its all so bad :( :duh: Been phoning, texting, e-mailing, MSN-ing each other to see if everyone is OK. Durgh!!!!
  9. Congratulations! Hope you live a very happy life together D.
  10. Its not too hard. I know a bit about electronics, but its quite straight forward joining some wires, cutting some wires. The only hard bit I found was that one or two of the connectors were really deep into the footwell, and quite hard to work with. Cut it wrong/too short, and you'll end up with a wire-extension task. I didn't need to do a single bit of soldering. Managed to use them scotch lock things. D.
  11. Waaazzzzzaaarrrpppp! ;) Hope not serious the blood clot business? D
  12. Its for use if you have a Mini-Disc changer installed.
  13. BS for sure. When I took my car for a 40k service at Croydon, and asked to supply my own oil, they said that they specificly used Fully Synthetic oil.
  14. Lookin' 4ward to it :D My first meet. Erm, what's da chances we can all have a name badge like... stuck accross our foreheads... ... didn't think so... Lets try putting a face to the names, and even then, most of them are forum-nick-names...
  15. $h :tsktsk: t man. Bet you're a bit peeved off. Good to hear you were both OK. Is the a sign the the bad luck for Lex drivers is running over into the month of July as well... Think the car may be safer on the drive until next month...
  16. I did a little post here about GAP Insurance a while ago... It's just like all insurance - good if you need to make a claim!!!
  17. There's a couple in My garage :D PM me if you want a load more...
  18. According to Kwik-Fit I get the impression only rear fog lights are important for an MOT test. There is no mention of front fogs. This link kind of says this again.
  19. You can add a Hard drive via the Broadband Network adaptor - it is only used officialy by Final Fantasy 12 I think it is. Otherwise, you can use the hard disk with some 3rd party software here to save your games to the hard disk, and run them off that. N.B. It can use a normal PC IDE hard disk, and this set-up is only for the non-slim PS2. P.S. You must have played at least one of the Metal Gear Solid Games? They are fantastic to say the least. Best games on PS1/PS2 IMHO :)
  20. Because it was brought up in the warranty period, its all being replaced tomorrow :) The Lexus warranty is so good, I don't think there's really anything that's not covered I was just wondering whether it would be worth extending it so I don't have to face any bills in the future :winky: ← Hmmm... well its obviously down to how confident you feel (and how much money you got!). It's like all the extra kinds of insurance's you can get, in case anything happens e.g. MOT insurance, GAP insurance, extended Warranty cover, pre-paid service plans, road-side cover... Think of it like this - how likely would it be that the repairs would be more then the cost of the extended warranty anyway? E.g. you got £500 of stuff done, at a potential cost of £800 for 2 years cover... Its a Lex. Its Jap. I would always hope that when servicing nothing non-consumable will need replacing... Still, this is all getting a bit lol!
  21. I'm sure its crossed everyone's minds lately that there are quite a few LOC ppl reporting crashes/damage to their cars lately Hope its not a bad luck year or anything... Anyone believe in horoscopes? Bad luck year? Month... Ravstar hit'n'run eddiea1 front-and-rear-ended Marcus's crash Wosket's smash Hope there are no more - touch wood...
  22. May as well. It's painted. U got it sitting there. Do it! :)
  23. LOL! No probs. I remembered reading your post about the new MOT anyway. May as well get your cheap MOTs done in advance before the new one kicks in...
