They don't regularly order from the supplier, so a one-off order for a single shell incurs the surcharge, which is understandable.

Hey Bret, Erm, i've hunted high and low, UK and US suppliers, and pretty much all of them are sold out/discontinued... And plus, I am after 200mm shell (think Tamiya is 190mm). You got lucky then! A whole kit for 51 quid! D.

Hi all remote control car fans. Anyone been trying to get hold of a Lexus IS series/Toyota Altezza 10:1 200mm body shell for their remote control cars (e.g. electric, nitro), I have found a retailer that can supply them. I can order just the one for myself, but have to pay a surcharge. This can be waived if 10 or more are ordered at once. Would anyone be interested? Design yourself a mini-Lex/Tez to race against... :) B) The cost would be £19 for a Vixen 10:1 200mm shell, unpainted, with decal stickers. Picture and limited info here! I would guess that we would have to arrange collection (at a LOC meet) or shipping from myself once I get them (maybe a fiver or so at a guess). Once their's interest of 10 or more, I will start to take payments. Otherwise i'm just gonna get myself just the one. Derek.

Hi all, Can anyone shed and light as to whether or not Castrol GTX Magnatec 10w-40 is suitable for the IS200 Sport Got my 4th service this week, and want to supply the engine oil element myself(otherwise it's like a tenner + VAT/litre!!!) I was told they use fully synthetic oil :duh: Also, just confirm that 4.2 litres is the right amount needed for the oil change service? Ta. D B)

Currently clean ^_^ Have been pulled over a couple of times before apprantly for speeding. Both times in my first car - a G reg 1.1 Fiesta! Both were at the crack of dawn (on way to Heathrow) apparantly doing over 30 in a 30 zone... Thing was I was concious of not being sure of the speed limit, so stuck to 30 anyway. They calimed they worked it out doing a speed-gain calculation based on how long it took them to catch up with me... :o

I do it all the time in Ifraz's car when he is driving along. It reminds me of the noise that you get on a plane when someone presses the button to get the attention of the cabin crew! Reminds me of going on holiday! ← Yeah, that's the one. Except no one seems to come to my attention when it goes off in the car :duh:

Anyone tried to pull up the handbrake in an IS whilst it is moving? Mine makes a "bing" kinda noise. You don't need to be going very fast (just coasting along), or pull the handbrake up all the way... Just until the light on the instrument panel comes on I think...

Hmmm. Not sure if a tenner is worth saving... But the only thing that does "bother" me is that I have that GardX stuff on my car, and if the dealer washes it, they wont be using the "special" protection/preservation liquids as prescribed...

you have not been conned. unlucky - yes. conned - no. did you get the car you ordered? Did you order sat nav? Do you have proof that your Lexus dealer knew that 11 weeks later the IS would be offered with nav as standard? Do you expect the dealer to advise you to wait in case a better spec comes out? Why didn't you wait until November 05 when the new model IS comes out? Why didn't you wait until <whenever> when the IS350 comes out? Or do you feel the Lexus dealer has conned you by selling you the car you ordered when he knew full well a new model would be out in 8 months? Not havng a fo at you mate - must be a bit of a bummer. but - be realistic - you were not conned ← I agree, I was also unlucky when I took delivery of my last new car, 2 weeks before they started coming with 3 years of warentee instead of 1 year :( Its all the luck of the draw sometimes, however that said the dealer did know that the car was due to come down in price in 6 months time so I managed to get it 4K cheaper by bartering with them, so they probably also knew of the extension to the warentee as well... buggers! ← RAHHHhhh!!! U got 4K off the price? From a Lexus dealer?!?!!? I only manage 500!
