a quick thought... they will need to take your log book away when they assign you with a new number plate, which means selling your car might be a pain!? Cos you'll have to wait for the new one to come through, so that you can hand over the Transfer of Vehicle docs to the new owner. Otherwise, as far as i know, if you sell your car, but dont transfer the documents, that any new Speeding Tickets, Car Fines or such like, will be down to you to pay! Just a thought ?!

yup, same as above... i put mine on retention last year and it cost £105. £80 for the reassignment fee when i put it onto a new car. and £25 for administration costs! (that bit is the bump)

i'm really loving the quad... it's what i want on my lexus when i get one. But not round quads like the black lex, i prefer them slightly rectangular to give it that angular feeling, similar to those on the blue lex at the start. B)

I've got a quote from Tesco on a 2001 Lexus IS200. i'm 22 with 5 years driving experience, but 0 years no claims bonus, as i'm currently driving on my dad's Motor Traders Policy. The quote is for £2049, fully comprehensive. At this rate, i dont think i'll ever be able to afford one!

scratch proof paintwork, and an undentable bodywork. I seen a washing machine with the scratch proof paint and it also got hinges on the door you can hang your mother-in-law off without them breaking... hahahha

have you had the stearing wheel off? I know in my dad's galant gti, after we took the wheel off, and didn't realign the wheel back on the cog sprockets it had difficulty cancelling the indicators. Although IS's have airbags so i'm guessing this isn't the case :duh: erm... check 2, would be if you got a sticky switch lever, maybe?

I do quite like the robustness look of the car, although i STILL prefer the "old" current IS. The rear didn't remind me so much of the Alfa, more of a new 5series BMW, like the 525 and 530 you see alot of people driving. I guess the IS250 and the 525 are aimed at the market as being in the same class of vehicle? I voted "YES" i do like it (but prefer current IS more )

I used to tint small hatchbacks for £150 all windows around 2 years ago. I know a professional guy who works in Wembley by the name of Clive (he's from america if anyone knows him). He'll do the Lexus Front Sides, Rear Sides, and Rear main (choice of 3 shades dark, medium or light) for a nifty £240. In and out in roughly 2-3 hours. Also there is R-Tec across in St Albans, his prices are roughly the same, but haven't seen any of his work.

Hey there y'all :D I'm Niraj, nobody really knows me yet, i only started posting today. Anyway, you can call me Nij or Niraj, whatever you all prefer, no difference to me. I always turn my head whichever name you shout. hahaha. I'm 22 live in london, no kids, not single, but not married either. I will have been driving the sweet baby honda civic (98 model) for 5 years in just a little over a month from now. It was my first true love, and i will always love her, but i think its time to upgrade to a WOMAN (Lexus IS200) and trade in the old girl (Civic) soon. I love modding my car & my mates cars to "anything but the norm", some would say a boy racer, although i dont really race. I just pose and pretend to race! I used to work at Harts Motors in Markyate (Jct9 off the M1) since i was 16 because it's a family run business. Although I have moved away from the overalls and into a suit I still have my valuable knowledge about cars. I've been working as an ICT Administrator for a Security firm for 10 months now, and have been saving for an IS200 for 9 months! Most "IT dudes" drive M3's and SL's but i prefer a more lush down to earth type of car, which is why i have my heart set on a Lex. I have a website which is really just a place for my friends to just chill and surf to, when they have nothing better to do... got a huge Lexus gallery on there, you will probably find your car in there if you look at it... sorry in advance for using the pics but i'm sure you Lexus owners understand that i only "borrowed" them out of my love and respect for the cars and their owners :D my webpage for anyone who's interested. I'm new here, so i dont know what happened.... but people people people!!! ** pat yourselves on the back ** this is the type of stuff i love to hear... i've been on a few other "non car-related forums" and nowhere have i seen people sing such good praises about other people... i'm feeling the vibe here. btw: i used to be a mechanic, and now work in the IT industry, so i've seen both sides of the working world, and even though i've only been posting for less than 12 hours, i already feel like i want to help someone... (but just lacking the knowledge and experience at the moment) Dont worry though, i always give things my best effort. Oh and one last thing "Welldone guys..."

that sucks, but i guess the drop in prices is good for people like me, who are looking to step up to owning a Lex. It's not like we're all loaded, and I think the drop in prices is across the entire board, not just lexus. off topic: have you got a large higher resolution picture of the lexus in your avatar? would be really cool if you could show me where to find it :D ps: good luck in selling the motor... (try private sale?)
