  1. When you say it does it occasionally are there any common factors? Is it when it's cold, damp or hot? Or just random? Obviously it could be many things but if you can be more specific it can make it easier to diagnose.
  2. Does anyone know a good place to get this done (Mines doing it as well) , it looks pretty tricky and I haven't done any valve jobs for years. Also, is it worth getting the cambelt done at the same time? Any idea on cost for the lot? I applied for gold membership on wednesday so it might be coming in very useful.
  3. Cool Dolo It'd be boring if we all liked the same cars wouldn't it. I was looking at an S-class, a 7 series or an LS400 I chose the LS because you get so much more and at a few years old i'd go for Lexus every time. Good luck with the Beemer, I hope it's a nice colour with loads of toys. Enjoy :D
  4. Have you thought about the LS400 instead of the BMW? Most of the negative points and will not be present in the LS400 . A BMW 7 series is not as quiet or relaxing as an LS400. The motoring press criticise the LS for being too "refined", but for me thats the point of a luxury car. Drive one and you'll see what I mean. Good luck with whatever you buy.
  5. Yeah, that would be long enough to charge up a good battery, assuming it wasn't raining, at night, with a mega ICE install turned up to the max ( You have to ask) If you were adjusting the lights is there a chance you knocked one of the battery terminals?, That could cause an intermittent charge (like you were getting). It's worth checking to see if they're tight before you buy a new battery.
  6. Welcome to the club and congrats on buying an LS400. I bought my first LS400 a few weeks ago and joined last month. Sorry, I can't help with your problem though. Welcome to the LOC! :)
  7. Just get someone else to get out first. That's what I used to do with my Mrs when my Jaguar did it. If you haven't got a Mrs pick up a tramp and then take them where you're going and make them get out first. Problem solved. sorry :D
  8. Surely there must be a subtle/ barely noticeable earth cable these days, I only remember them nasty things with arrows and reflectors on. Maybe lexus stock a nice one for a couple of grand.
  9. I'm not sure if this will interest you guys but i've just seen a yellow Altezza RS200 on ebay. The yellow big wheel pimpmobile

  11. I would say you need a new battery but you didn't say how far you drove the car after you flattened the battery, you need to drive at least 20 minutes, ideally not stop start stuff, difficult in london I suppose.9-10volts will let some things work but not high current draw stuff. Most garages will try and sell you a new battery and one garage I worked at used to use a "tester" that mullers them if they're borderline.Try and charge it up if you can before you buy a new one.Even a good battery would show these symptoms if you had drained it and not driven enough.
  12. I'm up for a bit of 1942 matey. I play as Ronnay Barkay but i'm sure LOCadz would be cool. They'd probably all gang up on us 'cos they're jeaaaalous! Put me down Chamone, :D
  13. You'll be big pimpin' fa sho' :zee: They'll look sweet!
  14. I want to get my LS400 standard wheels polished/ Reconditioned but i've seen some cheap soarer wheels for sale which I was thinking of putting on while my wheels get sorted. The soarer wheels size is 225/55 16 (same as my LS) Does anyone know if they actually fit? Also, what about the centre plastic hub on the stock wheels, can they be reconditioned or do you just get new ones? I've only had the car 2 months so i'm a bit green. Any advice would be appreciated. :)
  15. I think you'll find there's only one gay in the LOC Good day! :winky:
  16. That makes more sense, presumably you'll have the output on a screen in the dash? It would take a while to learn not to look where the mirrors are though, mind you if any volvo drivers buy one they won't have that problem. :winky:
  17. That's sweet, As long as they're not supposed to be the wing-mirrors, they're having a laugh :D . I could see more in my fireblade's mirrors. (My elbows)
  18. Some dodgy ringer just welded a new Honda Accord front onto a mazda 6 rear and got some drug-dealer wheels from Halfords :zee: .
  19. Congratulations. Loads of people knock it but it depends who you marry. Good luck :D
  20. BF1942 is mint. Except for the tw :tsktsk: ts that hang around the spawn points and blast ya.
  21. Yeah sure mate. I'm just letting people know even if you spend shed loads of cash they can still 'ave ya. There's always unmarked cars and bikes as well. I wasn't aware how :tsktsk: 'kin sneaky they were before my mate was a traffic cop. How many times have we had a little race for a bit of fun and then thought " sh :tsktsk: t, what if he was a Rozzer" (I never have though) Just because i'm paranoid, doesn't mean they're NOT out to get me
  22. Just a word of warning. My best mate is a traffic cop and he's always getting people with the handheld laser, not the radar. He's nicked lots of people with £500 radar detectors fitted to their cars, in shock. He only needs a second to lock on to them and can do it from about a mile away.(Would u spot a Rozzer on a bridge at that distance?) and if you could would you get below the limit in a second? I've got an LS400 but ride my Honda Fireblade for proper speed kicks and i'm sh : :tsktsk: t scared of them handheld laser guns. Forget about the laser blockers as well as the clued up traffic cops know what the error codes mean and if they find a laser jammer fitted to your car (probably near the number plate) you're well in the sh :tsktsk: t. The detectors are handy for cameras but just remember they've got sneakier ways of getting us.
  23. According to the Lexus book it says you have to be within about 2 metres of the car. I think its a bit weird as you can almost fit the key in from that distance. I usually do it from about a metre from the drivers door and it works fine as long as the little button for the remote is set to on. Have you got a spare key to try? Thats another strange one on this car, why would you want to turn the remote switch off?
  24. I'd go for an Ls400 instead 'cos i'm a pimp daddy :zee: , but the IS rather than the GS.
