  1. With roof rack and personal plate. Passed you this morning at about 08:20.
  2. mitch, I think you're looking at possibly another 2-3 months. We're still getting firmware updates. It is nice, I'll probably get one myself if it can be used on a non-3g network.
  3. As I write software for mobile phones I get to play with lots of different kinds. The two which I've been most impressed with are: Nokia 6600 Sony Ericsson P900 and i now use the P900 as my daily phone. I like the fact i can sync my calendar, phone book etc with my Apple Mac using bluetooth. If you've got a Mac there is also a great app called Sailing Clicker that allows you to use the phone as a remote control for the iTunes music app - it automatically mutes the music when a phone call comes in! Camera wise; I'm not convinced that any of the phones take a decent picture unless the light is very good. I prefer to use a digital camera and would only use the phone as a last resort. However, i think the 6600 has the better camera; haven't checked the technical specs but it does seem to take better pictures. On the horizon is the Z1010 which I'm currently testing and have to say that if you like the Z600 (clam-shell) then you'll gonna love the Z1010. The phone looks and feels great and has two cameras to allow you to make video phone calls. The user interface is also much improved with some really swish graphics.
  4. Best thing I ever did was to swap my 200 for a 300. I've really noticed the difference in speed when overtaking in th 40 - 70 band, the car just flies... :) Like fargo I've also found that it seems more responsive if I change down (say 5 - 3) on the e-shift and then accelerate, rather than boot it in auto - which appears to have a slight delay as it kicks down. It's also quieter when cruising on the motorway. Don't forget that you also get some extra toys; hid, lsd, vsc, auto-dim rear view mirror, arm rest, full leather, chrome-effect pedals, chrome effect kick plates, coin holder (!) etc. Go for it! You wont regret it one bit.
  5. Thanks SteveAudioX. Has anyone got either on their car ?
  6. I'm just getting the front of my IS300 re-sprayed due to the large quantity of stone chips . Found this on IS300.net. Thinking about it. Anyone used it or can recommend it ?
  7. I'd choose the refurbs over the originals any day. I've had two sets now (different IS) and they look better (IMO) and are very easy to keep clean. I prefer the rounder edges. I wonder if you can specify refurbs when you order a new IS
  8. I used the wax (stage 3) on the black frames and they polished up a treat. However, I would suggest you do a little test patch first, cos you never know...
  9. Since I've changed from an IS200 SE Auto to the IS300 my fuel consumption has dropped quite a bit (about 5-6mpg). However, this is because I find myself taking every opportunity to open up that smooth sweet 3 litre engine I you can stretch to it I would try and get the IS300. The IS200 Auto is a very relaxed drive, a great cruiser, but I always found the andrenelin overload a little too much when overtaking
  10. Dunno if this helps, the article seems to indicate high/low beeps as being the CPU overheating http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1223
  11. Granite Sky. Until i waxed it (only had the car six weeks) I didn't realise the paint had those sparkly bits in it (mica i think). I did try for some photos but it was so bright (sun) and the car gleaming that all I kept getting was glare. Couldn't evan see the car through the lens of the digital camera. Will try again another weekend, although next time i'll drink less beer :D Car cleaning, sunshine and cold beer = good combination. Beats mowing the lawn :)
  12. I got through half a bottle of each (2 and 3) on a Jeep and the Lex. I went easy on the Jeep (did that first) and got the best results with the lex and large dollops. I could understand only using small amounts with the stage 1, but thought the polish and wax would be okay if I used a bit more than supposed to. I also used the wax on my wipers (not the blades), ariel, chrome exhaust pipe, scuff plates, black window surrounds and they all came up a treat. Do you think too much could cause problems
  13. I also did my Is300 with the stage 3 on Sunday. Didn't bother wth stage 1. I started off with small amounts of polish for stage 2 (as per instructions) but soon changed to large dollops. I got the best results with the large dollops. I also used more on the stage 3 than the instructions. Liked the way it polished off easily, no powdery wax which i used to get with the turtle wax stuff. Overall very pleased, except I now know I've got an awful lot of stone chips
  14. That's a very good deal. Paid £21k with 19k miles on the clock. I badly wanted a granite sky so was happy to pay a bit more, rather than wait.
  15. I've owned both. Now own an IS300 sat nav having previously had an IS200 SE sat nav. I though about buying new but opted for a one year old with DVD sat nav. This came in at approx same price as a new IS200 SE. Pros:- * Performance. Overtaking is now a breeze. Effortless cruising on the motorway. Car is much quieter. * Steptronic gear box (controls on the steering wheel). Great for overtaking. * HID headlamps. Awesome. * Auto-dimming rear view mirror. Got it the Jeep, missed it in the IS200. * Arm rest. Okay, but I've lived so long without one that I find I don't really use it. * All the chrome bits and bobs; pedals, scuff plates etc. I know these are standard in the Sport but they weren't in the SE. * Unless you go for the IS200 Sport you wont get the spolier, LSD, lowered suspension. Cons:- Heavier on the fuel. Gone from 35 mpg (mostly motorway driving) to about 28/29 mpg. However, I do drive the IS300 more enthusiastically Looking back I'm glad I got the IS300.
  16. It should NOT feel light at anything greater than car park speeds. The SP9000 tyres are good tyres and well rated for the top speed of your IS200. I'm on my second IS and have never felt the steering too be light. I'm assuming you/dealer have checked tyre pressures etc. If you're unhappy let the dealer have a look and take it for a test drive/rolling road. I assume you're not carrying several large bags of cement in the boot ? I once bought a Mitsubish shogun that was light on the steering. Checked the tyre pressures and found that one side of the car had been well over inflated. Returned tyres to normal pressure and then spotted that the car had a distinct 45 degree lean to one side Promptly returned the car to the dealer for an immediate fix/money back situation. They sorted the suspension problems but it never felt right so I got shot of it and traded it in for a Jeep Grand Cherokee (still got). Boy was that a mistake EDIT: whoops, It should NOT feel light at anything LESS than car park speeds.
  17. I've had 6 disc changers in a Jeep, Mitsubishi, BMW and Lexus. I had problems with all bar the Lexus. The common theme with them jamming seems to be cheap CD-Rs and p :tsktsk: d mates sticking (forcing) the changer in upside down Can't do that with the Lexus
  18. I got about £12k on a part ex for an IS200 SE Auto Sat Nav, 2001 Y plate with 60k miles on the clock. Talk to your dealer, they will do a deal. The IS300 (Sat Nav) I was looking at started at £23,000 but came down to £22,000 after some discussion. You never know, you might be suprised. One other thing, you say the wheels aren't too good. Is this the alloy corrosion problem. If it is then you might be able to get a new set under warrenty (I think the deal is four years warrenty on the alloys). if so, get them changed (FOC) and try selling privately. Personally, I can't be a :tsktsk: d with all the hassle of selling; advertising, organising test drives, time wasters etc. I'd rather just chop it in and negotiate... Whatever, good luck.
  19. Hmmm... Which browser (running out of ideas here ) ?
  20. Dunno if the site uses cookies ? Possibly a problem if it does and you've got them switched off. Quite often a session id is stored in a cookie (at login) and then checked when you do something like post a message. No session id = not logged in. Do you login ? Do you get logged out when you post to any forum or a specific one ? What browser are you using ? my .02 cents worth.
  21. Looks like fun, and with Tara Reid on board the candy should be sweet :)
  22. Quick trip to the car... It is: iPod Cassette Adaptor from XtremeMac, XtremeMac[/url Very pleased with it.
