  3. Just having a look around the net and found these - http://www.japspeed.co.uk/Lexus-IS200/Lexu...tem/p-10-1-525/ Can't really argue with the price lads ;) I wonder if you can hold them to it
  4. hi there, i was wondering are the driftworks coilsovers any good? thanks
  5. Have spoken to Phil at Driftworks, about the possibility of a group buy. These are the coilovers in question, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HSD-Coilovers-for-Le...A1%7C240%3A1318 They are available in either normal (more for track use) or smooth (more for daily use.) £685 is already a great price (especially when compared to Tein) considering they are European made, have mono-tube dampers and come with pillowball top mounts (equivalent spec Tein's would be £1200+) Discounts available for 4+ buys, 8+ buys or 12+ buys. I just want to gather intrest so I can finalise some prices. Would be looking at ordering them for around the middle of April.
  6. hi there, has anyone heard of these coils. http://www.meisterr.com/Site/Lexus_IS200_GXE10.html getting a £100 pound off was just wondering.

  8. ok fitted coilovers set to the lowest setting im getting rubbing on drivers side when turning sharpe left at speed aseems to rub on arch gaurd so i asumed it was due to driver weight so raised it up abit still rubs very strange that its only rubbing on 1 side and only on left turn ? solutions please ???????
  9. ok few questons how low can you go with tein super street coilovers? do i need to change top mounts? if so front or front and back? thanks in advance
  10. What do you think of THESE, seem very cheap at £277 inc P+P, would they fit the IS200 ?
  11. Just really wondered what you guys out there are running your coilovers at, brands etc. If you could have a quick nosey at the poll questions and put some figures up, ie how much lowered, and what dampening settings you have front and back it would be appreciated as gives me some things to try out! Thanks in advance!
  12. Just wondered if anyone here was running HSD coilovers and if so what are they like? Have been keeping my eye out for a set of Tein CS or Flex and see that HSD now have the Smoothie in addition to the HR series :)
  13. Put this in general as it applies to the Aristo and GS MK2 equally. Right then well I got my HSD HR coilovers on today and what can I say - I'm very very very happy indeed with these! The spring rate on the HRs is 14/10 and 11/8 if you go for the Smoothies they sell (these are the JZS160 & JZS161 values - IS is lower) I have to admit I was a little worried that the HR may be a little too firm but had spoken to Ben @ Driftworks and he said most people were surprised actually how good yet comfortable these were compared to some of the makes out there. When they were on the car looked rock solid - it was on the softest setting yet even with my weight behind it the car hardly moves - so I thought I was in for a tough ride - so imagine my amazement when we drove off with the car at the same height as standard and the ride was better than it had been on my standard suspension!! Roll in the corners is so much better, and the car itself just feels 100 times better - it really has transformed it and the 100 miles I've done tonight have been the most fun I've had in the Aristo since I bought it! I don't have uprated antiroll bars yet - I'd been mulling the coilovers for a few weeks now but after popping to the garage for some new sparks and an ATF change it was spotted the back drivers side spring was in a sad state and really needed replacing ASAP. I rang Ben @ Driftworks around midday and the coilovers were delivered to the garage at 8am this morning - now that is really good service! I don't have any pics yet and I want to get them settled tomorrow with some more driving - I've done around 100 miles tonight and have to admit after I'd covered 50 miles I turned up the damping from 1 (softest) to 5 to see the difference. Was still impressed
  14. hi guys was wondering if any of you could help me.i have a rs200 altezza.i live in ireland and cant get my hks hypermax II coilovers rebuilt over here,no one does them. 3 of them are fine but the seal has gone on the front drivers side one. does any one know a place that might put a new seal or rebuild it for me. any input is greatly appreciated thanks.
  15. Are these coilovers any good? If they are then i will be ordering some middle of the week Just thought i would see if anyone has them or if there are any other suggestions that are better for around the same price http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEXUS-IS200-TEIN-BAS...p3286.m20.l1116
  16. Yeah ok I know it's a bit of a stupid question. But I don't understand the difference between coilovers and lowering springs. I know that the springs are, well, just springs, and the coilovers are springs with dampers (?) built into them. What's the advantage of coilovers, I presume then that their dampers replace the OEM ones in the car ? But how does that help ? What's different about that setup as opposed to just the lowering springs ? I'm just looking to learn, I'm not really interested in actually get them for my car (well, not at the moment, anyway !).
  17. Hi, Does anyone know any european online sites where I can buy coilovers for my LS 400 1993? Thanks in advance Daniel
  18. I found this LS for sale and then emailed the owner to ask him which coilovers fit our UCF11 because they aren't listed on the Megan Racing website. Here replied back informing me the 95-00 fit our cars too. I'm strongly considering them. Has anyone ever run them on their cars? Here's the link with pics of the car. I do like Megan's. I'm currently running them on my nissan 240sx and they ride great but curious on a luxury car. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/814524182.html
  19. Hi Everyone. I bought a set of Tein Basic Coilovers as they said you could use them with the OEM top mounts. I took them to be fitted and now he has told me he couldnt do it as the OEM top mounts dont fit with the coilovers. Has anyone else fitted these to their Altezza with the OEM top mounts or do I have to get the pillow ball mounts from Tein?
  20. Hi Everyone ;) i want to ask a question and maybe sugestion about these coilovers http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KSPORT-PRO-...emZ280222463934 , Do anyone had upgraded you Lexus with these absorbers?please tell your opinion, thank you very much :) :zee:
  21. Hi guys i've never needed to adjust the dampering on my coilovers but now i have stripped it out it has obviously change the whole car, so need to start tweeking the suspension. I thought this would be an easy job just turning the knob on the top, open bonnet and boot, there are no knobs on the end, now there are to flat edges on the top of the thread that sticks out and i am thinking i just need to get a spanner on there and twist that, but i dont want to go and do something like start bleeding the oil/gas or something. Anyone got any ideas let me know Have got instructions but all in jjjaaaapppoooonnnesesesey Cheers Elliott
  22. well after thinking about doing my coilovers for about..............3 years+ now! Finally got some Tein super street coilovers with top mounts and EDFC unit and today had the morning off and took the car over to WIM's new place. New place is great and looks to be top notch! After having it all fitted i got about 100 metres down the road and WOW what a difference, i have noticed a HUGE improvemnet from the standard coilovers and geo set up! Just like to say a big thank you to Tony and the guys at WIM, they are fantastic (i know most of you already know this) and was well worth the long drive from Southampton to get it all done! I am yet to take any pictures of the new ride height but will get round to it this weekend when i get time to upload the pics, here is what she used to look like................4X4 :) Have managed to fit the EDFC unit into a Altezza lower dash tray and it looks almost stock!!!! Not too sure what the drop is but maybe you could shed some light Gord????? i don't know what you had the coilovers set to but i didn't change the ride height just fitted them and a small adjustment on one of the rears! Jason :P
  23. does anyone know where the best place and preferably the cheapest to but tein coilovers or some of that quality and is there any tips on buying them cheers ps also what is the difference between the bacic damper kit and the super street damper kit
