I was in a similar situation with keys. I learned that there are 2 length blanks available. I bought a number of old Lexus keys from Ebay. I also learned that my W Reg 2000 LS400 required the transmitter pack with triangular indent. These are readily available on Ebay... This one is currently under £20 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-Lexus-gs300-is200-3-button-1512v-3-button-Remote-Key-working-part/402441486730 Once the key is cut, all that is required is the "pedal dance" outlined in many places on this forum. I managed to lock my keys in the boot last year whilst working in Scotland. After removing a wet jacket and leggings I closed the boot lid immediately realising what I'd done! I tried calling the wife and getting her to operate the spare key in Hampshire, whilst holding the phone in various places along the windscreen - no luck! The AA man spent an hour trying to access the car, and once calling a colleague for advice, took the advice and gave up. My saviour was by way of a local auto locksmith. On the Monday morning he retrieved the key code from Lexus Central (I was able to confirm it's pedigree and date of registration) He arrived in the muddy field with a blank, typed in the code to his automated key cutter and I was able to gain access to the boot and my regular key set from the wet coat. Alarms blazing. Charge was £86 which I didn't think was extortionate.

There's one on EBay at present with exactly this fault. Hope any potential buyers understand this isn't just an ECU reset, and prepare to fork out £5500 😱 -

Sorry for your hassle, but good for me. I now know how the headlamp filters go for my next trip to France ;-) -
I bought this car. £1950 as I felt bad about haggling. The gardening company is the grandson, Selling for his widowed grandmother, proven in V5. It is all legit and a fine example (my second Mk IV). I had been looking for 6 months. 76k all pretty much immaculate apart from a small ding to the front wing apparently done in the woodyard by a stump grinder. Repair quote high at £250 Full LSH based on exact mileage. MOT search spot on. I had the timing belt done in Brighton, although Lee said it it looked as though it had recently been replaced. This car was registered in the last month for 400's I believe. Thanks to Messi for loving his SC

Adblock plus, I'm looking.... Heres the culprit in red. The blue shows continuous data transfer rebuilding page after page!

Its definitely Googleads.(Google ads) The Firefox dropdown arrow button lists 15 instances. Its building pages faster than I can Go Back! All the time I'm viewing the pages, the status bar at the bottom is churning over "Transferring data from: <hundreds> (even whilst composing this reply, hundreds of page updates are appearing)

I wonder if anyone can advise on fitting an aux input to the LS400 Mk IV? I've studied many posts on the forum and can say that I want to retain the original equipment, so after market is not an option. I've read about cutting tracks etc, but I wonder if there may be another way? Ideally I would use the LW radio selector/circuit. I wonder if any boffins may be able to help? There is nothing on Long Wave in the UK that you couldn't stream from an iPhone. It seems sensible to use the existing LW button to select an AUX input. This would obviously mean interrupting the LW section of the tuner and inserting a jack cable. Could this be done simply? I hope someone can help.

I'm a big fan of this site and read every new post in all the topics regarding the LS400. Recent changes (I imagine to adverts and popups) have caused multiple pages to be re-written in the browser. The effect of this is that the back button does nothing! If I hold the button down I just see countless copies of the existing page! Is this necessary? The only way is to spin up to the top of the page and return to the Main Forum Page and then go through the process again. Not progress

Tape Deck

I was under the impression that these were Nakamichi tape decks. (Not sure why, urban legend maybe). -

I've just had a cambelt replaced down in Brighton. It's my first one in 8 years of ownership of LS400's. It's for my second MkIV. My first I bought at 134k, now 218k and still going strong. Flirting with disaster since the cambelt had only been replaced once before, prior to my ownership at 103k in 2003. It's the 10 year longevity which worries me more than the mileage, even though, like so many of these cars, had covered less than 4k in the 4 years preceding my purchase. The service book recommends changing every 65k, so it's done 52k over expectation (almost 80% more) and outlived its expectancy by 4 years too. The new model is 5 months younger (July 2000) but has only covered 76k. Average yearly mileage since 2005 is only 2200. Lee suggests the belt may have been changed recently, but after extensive investigation I can find no evidence of this. Can it be that the original 17 year old belt having covered 75,000 miles still looks as good as new? I wouldn't be surprised, after all, as we know, this is one of the best cars ever built.

def_fid, the latest version of the CD-Rom was produced in 1999, after this for the 430 and beyond the DVD was adopted. There are a couple of the CD on eBay. Remember they don't do postcodes. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-GB-GREAT-BRITAIN-LS-GS-IS-SAT-NAV-DISC-SATELLITE-NAVIGATION-VER-2-1-98-9/192165624306?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D43781%26meid%3D901c9b4563004ddc8f0b552c52481336%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D192165623509 I find myself using the iPhone Waze App plugged into the cigar lighter socket, much of the online traffic info is derived from Waze these days. It is clever, but I mourn the loss of the Elvis voice. Uh huh huh

I have this fault on my up/down motor. I'm surprised a little as this model is a W reg, having only done 75k miles. There is no sound at all when operating the switch, and the wheel memory doesn't work either. Could this be a ecu fault? Has anyone any experience with repair/replacement?
