02 Ls430 Keyless Entry Not Working

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the club.

There could well be a problem. There are three routes to entry. Turning the key in the lock, pressing the button to unlock, and having the unlocking happen automatically as you approach the car. A new key will cover the first, but the other two need programming. You might suggest you will buy once you see the new key working?

Good Luck

Jon

PS All caps is SHOUTING on the internet . . .

THINKING OF BUYING LS430 BUT THE KEY ONLY WORKING ON MANUAL NOT KEY LESS ENTRY , THE SELLER SAID HE GETTING A NEW KEY ,SHOULD THERE BE ANY PROBLEM ?

so far i have found only a lexus dealer can program the key to operate the keyless unlock and start function - price varies from £180 - £220 - might be an idea to ask to see an invoice

Have you checked that the keyless entry isn't switched off under the dash? Some owners turn it off out of preference.

Dears,

I have LS430 2006 the key is working fine to lock or unlock by pressing the buttons on the key and I could run the car by keeping the key in the switch and then drive. but the keyless is not working, as such whenever i get close to the car lights on the mirror should come on and/or I suppose to keep the key in pocket and turn the switch to run the car, even the buttons on the door handle are not working.

anybody can help on this matter

Have you checked to see if the function has'nt been switched off? - the button is near the pedals.

Is it the same with all the keys?

Not a particular clear image but shows the location of the keyless entry system switch, easily caught with a knee without realising.

Apparently it is fitted to allow the system to be switched off when parked for some time as it stops the system constantly looking for a key so depleting the Battery quicker plus today also prevents scanners from accessing the code.
